DM: Assuming Spider Ylis also moves closer to be within range of 30ft, so they can still enjoy that sweet nat 20 to hit on the spider web.

The gloomstalker darts in as fast as it can, its companion breaking off to attack Ayo and her crew. As this one closes in, Joy’s trident strikes true and buries itself to the base of the tines in the shadowy hide, sharing space right next to Randa's blessed arrow. The creature hisses in frustration, taking its eyes away from the party to look at its wound, only to be pelted in the face by a rather impressive Fire Bolt. Enraged, the gloomstalker prepares to attack again, but is coated in webbing by Ylispider, which bursts with ice energy that digs into the swirling magical essence of the Fell.

The creature cries out as the webbing draws it to the ground with a thud. It immediately bursts into coiling smoke and dissipates, only to reappear 40ft up in the air. The trident remains buried under ice webbing.

DM: So ends the prep round for a total of 33 Damage in one round!

The gloomstalker releases an ear-splitting shriek! The ringing in your ears is painful enough, but there is an element of evil in the very sound, and it draws down your very souls with terror.

DM: Everyone please make a Constitution Saving Throw, DC 13 or be Paralyzed until the end of the gloomstalkers NEXT turn.

While the Fellowship clutch their ears and struggle against the oppressive evil, two skeletons burst up from the ground! The first, armed with a sword, slashes at Joy. (Attack 22, 9 Slashing Damage. 15 Slashing Damage if you are Paralyzed (due to automatic Crits in melee)).

The second is a skeletal archer, which pulls itself up from the earth and immediately fires on Ylis in her spider form. (Attack 9 if you succeed on your Saving Throw, 22 if you fail it. 8 Piercing Damage.)

Rumble looks like he has thoughts to give the gloomstalker a solid kick in the nose when he is able, but the shriek causes the titan of a horse to reel and fall backward, toppling the wagon over to the side that he is still harnessed to.

DM: It is your turn all. The gloomstalker is 40ft in the air, 20ft to the left of Joy.

Jacaranda sighted Rainfall on the creature and willed energy into the shaft to further injure the flying horror.

The gloomstalker dodges both arrow and fire bolt, then swoops down 20ft before puffing away into a wisp of smoke. It reappears again right next to the two who had resisted its soul-curdling scream. It slashes out at Merek with its claws like spears and bites at Randa with its dagger-like teeth.

DM: Merek – Attack 24, 17 Slashing Damage, 8 Nectrotic Damage.

DM: Randa – Attack 22, 22 Piercing Damage, 2 Necrotic Damage.

The skeleton with a sword hacks at the Paralyzed Joy, who can do nothing more than watch as the blade swings in to end her life. However, Joy’s chain mail shines like mithril and rebuffs the sword, causing little more than mild discomfort as one would experience when being swat by a stick.

DM: Joy - Miss!

The archer skeleton continues to fire on the giant spider that is Ylis.

DM: Ylis – Attack 24, 4 Piercing Damage.

Rumble struggles to his feet again, the paralytic effect having worn off. It takes him precious long moments to tilt the cart back over again. The others feel their bodies obey their commands again. It is time for a little payback.

DM: It is your turn. GO!

OOC: On sheet roller is being temperamental...

Ylis quivers as the paralytic effect fades. Her shaking increases and white fur flies into the air and limbs are pulled into her body. New, yellow fur emerges and she growls the cry of an angry lioness!

She charges at the gloomstalker interposing herself between the foul creature and Rumble, taking the Opportunity Attack from the archer.
