With the amount of trouble they've had on the road so far Jacaranda is less than trusting of anyone they meet out here, she remains next to the wagon and nocks an arrow to her bow looking for a target off the road.
She begins channeling energy from the earth through her body and into the arrow causing it to vibrate with unreleased power....
( At any sign of aggression she will fire into the largest of the covered pits with a Bursting Shot)
The man sees Randa ready an arrow and senses the vibrations of her prepared attack. "Whoa there, miss. This your idea of help? Just pulling steel on helpless, hurt folk?"
Sacha gets out of the wagon with Ylis to help the man, but keeps her guard up while traveling to Jigow. Before she joined up with the Fellowship, she quickly learned how dangerous it is to travel alone on unguarded roads. No one does it unless they’re desperate. Sacha is always glad to help those in need, but keeps a healthy amount of suspicion for times like these.
“It is quite strange for you to be traveling such dangerous lands on your own,” Sacha notes, while approaching him, weapons ready, “Without protection, or family, or any other company? It’s a wonder bandits haven’t found you.”
Sacha casts longstrider on herself while approaching the man and activates her tattoo.
“That is, unless they have already. You can come out now! Let’s play!”

Randa looses her shaft into the centre of the furthest canvas covering, the man had just burned his and his fellows chance to walk away by attempting to continue his ruse....she had done this dance too many times before to allow second chances.
Attack: 11 Damage: 8 Piercing + 8 Force to all within a 10' of where the arrow hit.
"I am impressed!" Everyone hears from under one of the screens. It is thrown aside, revealing a rather large human male who stands and struts out from a hole roughly 4ft deep. "These people smelled us from 30ft away." All 20 screens are thrown aside and people scurry out, one or two deep from their holes. All told, there are 32 men and women of various species, including the man who was in the road, who is now rising to his feet miraculously healed of his injuries, as well as the beefy man strutting to Ylis, Randa, and Sacha. He stops about 10ft away. "What's that say about our hygiene?" he smiles, revealing a mostly yellow, occasionally charcoal black assortment of teeth.
DM: The two parties are surrounded by what is a much larger group of people. They have weapons, though they have no yet raised them.
EDIT: The DM waves his omnipotent hand and puts this above line of text before Randa's attack. Everyone roll initiative.
Morgan is openly fascinated by the Barbed Fields. These jagged scars of divine power and wild nature — reminders that every act, whether small or cataclysmic, leaves its mark on the web of the universe — utterly captivate him. The shifting shadows of these pointy pillars might seem unsettling to others, but to Morgan, they’re strangely beautiful.
To Morgan, this people surrounding them seems like far too large a group to be mere bandits. He narrows his eyes, studying the scene. Are they soldiers? Mercenaries? Refugees? He scans their stances and movements, searching for any telltale signs — a common crest, a uniform shade, disciplined formations… or perhaps the presence of families and children that might tell another story altogether.
The 32(!) people surround the two groups of heroes. Ayo releases an orcish grunt of disapproval, while Dermot wrings his hands fitfully. Galsariad's hands remain relaxed and open, but his face is tense. The enormous Maggie dismisses any threats to stay seated and slowly lumbers out of the wagon, which practically bounced from the unburdening of the giant ogre. Irvan seems bored, to the point that he is inspecting his nails. Entropy looks disturbingly excited. Her teeth are clenched as she flashes them in a manic grin. "The gods do answer prayers," she says.
The ruffian leader holds up his powerful hand as Randa nocks an arrow. "Careful little lady. Think it through. This doesn't have to be bloody. You are surrounded."
With a shriek of metal, Entropy unsheaths her londsword. "All I am surrounded by is fear, and dead men!" She barks.
Randa points her arrow right at the leader, but the waylayers are mostly faster than her. Several fire off crossbow bolts at her.
DM: Crossbow Attack from five baddies: 22, 13, 14, 22, 10. That is two hits. 8, 8 Piercing Damage for 16 total.
Randa doges the first bolt with ease, but the second one almost catches her and the combined effort involved in dodging projectiles of such speed is difficult, and two find their target.
"You take half, we got the others!" Ayo shouts to the party.
One evil-doer advances on Rumble and slices at the mighty steed with his scimitar.
DM: Attack 19, Slashing Damage 2.
The horse bucks hard in the air as the slice at its chest pours blood out onto its white sock fur by the hooves. To his credit, he doesn't scream.
Another attacks Sacha with his sword, but she is far too fast to be caught by such a pitiful effort.
DM: Attack 12.
This seems to have been a feint effort actually though, because Sacha dodges directly into the sword swing from another.
DM: Attack 21, Slashing Damage 3.
Another leaps forward and slashes viciously at Ylis. It is a remarkable hit!
DM: Attack 23, Slashing Damage 7.
Two rush in and slashes viciously at Morgan. The flying blades quickly overwhelm him.
The remaining four grunts ready their crossbows and fire at Sacha, Randa, and Ylis.
DM: Attacks on Sacha 22, 19. Piercing Damage 8, 4 for 12 total.
DM: Attack on Randa 13.
DM: Attack on Ylis 18, Piercing Damage 7.
The leader shakes his head. "Could've just had a lighter purse. Didn't haveta go get yourself gutted." He pulls out his scimitar and advances on Sacha.

Sacha is bloodied. Just a handful of seconds into the fight, and she’s halfway dead.
As the Bandit captain approaches her, Sacha uses her reaction to attack him with Polearm Master. The Yggdrasil tattoo on her back comes to live, glowing with magic as the green, inky tendrils make their way down her arm and wrap around her spear, thrusting it forward as she strikes.
Attack: 15 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Sacha connects to the World Tree and uses it to guide her spear. Pain and anger fill her. Sacha uses rage. She’s swarmed by bandits, but must protect Ylis and Randa.She recklessly attacks Bandit I

Morgan touches his wound. His bloody hands tremble. "Gutted…?" he mutters.
He ignores the two bandits who stabbed him and fixes his gaze on the bandit captain. "You're right… it shouldn’t have ended like this. Now all that’s left of you will be… ashes."
(Morgan activates Innate Sorcery.) His red hair whips around him as if caught in a phantom wind. His eyes fade into black pits. A careful glance might see there stars and chaotic glares twinkling in the remote distance. But most eyes fall on the diamond in his hand, now swirling in a vortex of fire.
He casts Chromatic Orb at Bandit I (13 to hit; if it connects, 19 fire damage).
Slowly, very slowly, he pivots toward the two bandits on his left. He looks down at them with his empty eyes. "Burn!"
Spending 2 sorcery points to cast Create Bonfire as a bonus action (Quickened Spell). A pire of fire erupts precisely between the two bandits O and N (DC 15 Dex; 1 damage).
