I greatly apologize if you are interested, but I have ended this game due to real life considerations. Sorry; I hope you find other good games to join.
"You've got one shot at life, kid. Make it count."
The premise is simple: you have joined an adventuring organization, the One-Shot Wonder Guild. What do you do as a member of the One-Shot Wonder Guild? You join others and go on One-Shot adventures for fame and fortune.
Details: I'm going to be pulling from the One-Shot Wonders adventures available on D&D Beyond. At the Guild, gather with three other members and you will be given a list of potential adventures to go on appropriate for your level (you'll start at level 1, and gain a level every 2 adventures 1 adventure you complete). I'll be using 2024 rules (which I'm still learning so forgive me for any 2014-isms I make). For simplicity let's say we'll use point buy, and no homebrew but anything available on D&D Beyond is fine. It's fine to join in later than the start of the campaign (you still start at level 1), just team up with three other members to make a new group (you can of course change groups between adventures).
I think this should be fun; if you think so too, go ahead and sign the guild charter below:
This sounds like a lot of fun. Here is my character:
Name: Bao Tian ("Heaven's Embrace") Species: Aasimar Class: Monk Motto: Do not seek victory — seek understanding
Bao does not remember the celestial that touched his soul — only the soft chime it left behind in his dreams. Raised in a hidden monastery carved into the mountainside, he spent his youth in silence, learning to still both wind and thought. When he bested his master in sparring, the old monk smiled and said: “Now that you have achieved victory, go find something greater.” So Lian left with only his staff and prayer beads, descending into the world of mortals where pain runs deep and wisdom runs thin. His path is clear: to meet conflict with calm, and bring understanding where once there was only flame.
The guild's scribe writes in a flowing cursive the name Bao Tian in guild's members directory, and looks up at the aasimar with a smile. "You are registered!"
The scribe looks across the table, sizing up the dwarf in front of her. After a moment's consideration, she adds the name Dain Stonedelver to the registry. "Welcome aboard."
"Love the rhinestones. Are those shoes real suede?" The scribe writes Lucky Jackson in the log book, and asks the goblin if she might have an autograph.
The scribe writes Erdri Flukefield in the large, currently mostly-empty tome of names. "Light be with you, good gnome!"
With enough members to form a party, should you wish, the scribe points in the direction of the jobs board:
DOWN AT THE DOCKS [Ranks 1 to 2] An eternally unlucky sailor risks dismissal by an angry admiral with no sense of humor. Help her save her job!
HOSTAGE SITUATION [Ranks 1 to 2] A wealthy business owner has gone missing, and a ransom has been demanded by a group of hostage takers. Expect dangerous dealings!
LIGHT THE WAY [Ranks 1 to 2] Highway robbers are targeting travelers passing through a particularly dense, dark area of forest. The council have commissioned a number of lamp posts to try to make the road safer; the final installation requires placing glowing insects inside the lanterns.
TROUBLED WATERS [Ranks 1 to 2] A journalist needs help on a daring mission to expose the secret activities of an unusual cult. He will need protection in order to sneak onto their island base and investigate further.
FLOWER POWER [Ranks 1 to 2] In a secret oasis, there lies a rare cactus that blooms under the light of a special full moon just once a year. Pluck a single petal of this magical flower.
CURTAIN CALL [Ranks 1 to 2] A traveling troupe's spectacular new show has arrived. The show will be presented in a sheltered forest glade; travel there and write a review for our newsletter.
WAVE OF DESTRUCTION [Ranks 1 to 2] The placid waters near a fishing village have been invaded by a huge, aquatic beast. The creature is destroying the ecosystem, attacking villagers, and blocking passage to an island full of healing herbs.
Feel free to introduce yourselves to each other, figure out if you're a good team, and consider a first mission!
Lucky swaggers his hips and tosses his hair as he surveys the others.
"Thankya fer havin me in the guild. Thankyaverymuch..."
He does a random karate kick, landing in a lunge with his finger pointing to the job board.
"Flower Power. Now, I like the sounda that. Though, I gotta say...."He tilts his head slightly and gives the guild mistress a dashing sideways grin.... "I can't imagine a catus bloom prettier than the one I see right now."
Finally relaxing out of his lunge he takes out a handkerchief and wipes his brow. He tosses it to the guild mistress as he signs his autograph. He then turns to the others, flips his collar and raises a hand in salutation.
"Lucky Jackson... But you can call me King."

Fran is a very young Tabaxi (12 years old) who has just escaped from being a slave. She picked up a magic sword which has granted her Warlock powers (will be Hexblade).
“Ah the guild at last!” says Dain, eager to prove himself, make money, and go monster hunting. “If you want to go hunt a flower, that’s fine, but I’d be more eager to go check out that creature causing the waves of destruction!
The guild scribe welcomes the newcomers, a halfling and an elf. Julienne, she writes first, placing a little heart where the dot above the i goes, followed by Ruvien Nightshade (alias: Rook). "Feel free to introduce yourselves to the other new members!", she suggests.
"Hello everyone!" a young and energetic halfling turns to the others, her hand raised in a half-wave. "Name's Julienne. I am a hunter by day and a chef by night. Unless whatever's on the menu is nocturnal or the kitchen needs help in the morning, then it's the other way around." Coming to a stop, she tugs a strand of her short brown hair behind her ear, musing "Although, I also usually prep my ingredients during the day or forage for things that might be missing, sooo... I guess I am both a hunter and chef at anytime of day!" she grins.
A high elf enters, dressed in the dark shades of a night hunter. He would look equally natural in a forest or dark city streets...and his shortbow, leather armor, shortsword, and dagger mark him as someone looking for an adventure.
"I hear you are looking for something - or things - and I am an excellent finder of lost things. Sometimes even before people realize that those things are lost, but that is a trifling detail we should not let distract us! And I heard there would be snacks..."
