(assuming during the 3rd Age, during the Fellowship of the Ring)
Having being gathered by a secret council in Helm's Deep, you all, a group of brave adventurers who precede the FOTR, must make the journey into Mordor and strike a deadly blow against one of their most powerful fortresses - Minas Morgul, formerly Minas ithil, and to retrieve the Ithil-stone and to make it out alive. The journey will be dangerous, but if the Ithil-stone can be retrieved and hidden, it can prevent Denethor's continuous corruption at the hands of Sauron, and a blow against Minas Morgul could possibly disorient Mordor, leaving them open to more attacks via the Nameless Pass.
You will have to travel through the Rohan, through Gondor and into the Morgul Vale where Minas Morgul and its sickly light casts a bleak shadow into Gondor. The journey will be long and fraught but it travels through Ithilien, where you will have to face the orcs that have occupied the once graceful land.
Make a 5th level character please, with good or neutral alignment, and only human/dwarf/elf/half-elf/halfling.
No magic classes or subclasses please, but you may have 2 uncommon (or one rare) magic item.
Preferably you all have good knowledge of the LOTR world and of Middle-Earth.
Currently playing in: Quest for the Shunned City, Coliseum of Conquest, DragonDenn's Dragonlords, Shipwrecked on Fugue, Tomb of Annihilation, Razor's Lost Mine of Phandelver, The Lost Kenku & One Grung Above
Currently DMing: Princes of the Apocalypse, Out of the Abyss, Coliseum of Conquest—The Arena (Sometimes)
Are all magic classes banned or are half casters like paladins and rangers allowed?
Whichever it is I would love to join. It will be my first pbp though. I can send my character as soon as I know about half casters.
Edit. Should the character stats be standard array, point buy or rolling for stats?
Rolling. As for half-casters, ME is a low-high magic world, in which the only people who are able of harnessing magic are the Maiar and Valar, although magic items are common.

And applying with two options, choose ( if any) wichever you find more suitable both for the campaign and the party.
Celebcú ( Q. Silver Bow)
A noldorin wandering elf. He has living at Imladris since he marched along with Elrond in the Last Alliance but has helped some of his kindred to make the last journey towards the Grey Haven in the east. In the last years a growing shadow has perturbed him, making him to travel far and far away from Imladris. He has recently visited the Lost Gwaith-In-Erthain and his news troubled both Glorfindel and Elrond the Half-elven. He is on the road again, searching for answers to the dark omens the wind brings, for a shadow is lurking in the East.
Class: Ranger4 /bard 1 Background: Sage
Link: ddb.ac/characters/4833158/FUQRyb
Hope that this reflects the noldorin "spirit" and the chosing of spells tries to keep the "low and subtle magic" from the LOTR setting.
Eóhild (R. Horse of War)
The Rohirrim had come far north in search of answers and help from the renowed Elrond the Half-elven. He has been comissioned by Eómer himself, the nephwe of the King, for the thinkgs are dark and troublesome in the Riddlemark. More and more orcs had been seen latetly crossing the Isengard Pass, the dunlendings become more bold each moon, attacking some rohirrim villagers, yet the King, speaking by the lips of his counsellor, Grima Swormtongue, does nothing. In desperate need of help, counsel and allies, Eómer has dispatched one of his men, Eóhild, to seek the Hidden Valley of Rivendell and the Wise that live there.
