Smiling Jack says,"To be honest, if it is Okay I would rather not deal with climbing a rope, then a few hours later climb back down I prefer to stay here and rest a bit."
(( If anyone had the heebee geebees about being in an underground 'Hob' hidey hole... since the roots attacked us. *shrugs* some might not feel totally safe taking a sleep in such odd surroundings? But, if others find it fine and secure... no reason to pop in and out like scared rabbits... or hobbits. ))
(Those who wish to Short Rest may do so while Reg and Barn search the area.)
Reg finishes his ritual and once again finds himself almost blinded by the power radiating from somewhere behind the curtain, looking there with Barns assistance he finds a disturbed patch of earth. Digging they find Ned had dug a pit and filled it with loose earth, it takes some time, almost an hour, but they are able to salvage a number of items from the pit.
A transparent, glasslike crystal shard almost a tall as Ardwynn......( DC 16 Arcana check to identify, DC 12 for Reg) 1 suit of ring mail armour of bronze rings over dark tinted leather. 3 clay jars stoppered with wax. 3 small jewels ( ruby, sapphire and diamond worth approximately 30 silver, 80 silver and 90 silver respectively.) A small tin box containing 68 gp 490 sp
Jack would have assisted with the digging and gathering of treasure. Assuming that is all treasure and no need to search for more, Jack would help carry it up and sleep with the others on the surface.
She looks at the tall splinter of crystal for a while before shrugging her shoulders, "A toothpick for a giant? Or maybe some kind of fancy staff but... crystal? How tough could it be?"
She points to the gems... "Don't mages use those for some of their spells? I mean... I might know someone that would pay good gold for those otherwise."
She keeps standing and looking about nervously, "Is it just me or does it just feel wrong to be picking through Ned's secret stash?"
The trapper and the soldier worked in tandem to uncover the trove of treasure. It was in deed quite a haul and he was glad to have spent the time to discover it. He had wished that Barn would have spent the time to rest, along with S Jack, but the folly of youth on the fear of missing out he figured. “Glad to have your strong back for the work, Barn. Make the job go quicker.”
He examined each item in turn after being sure Ned hadn’t gone deeper. He found the suit of armor particularly interesting. He hated to have taken the leather off of Oenegus but the needs were there then.
He wondered what the jars might hold; paint, balms, ashes. He didn’t dare break the seals yet though. The small gems were intriguing as well and he wondered if Ned came upon them honestly (according to mortal laws, or by Fae standards). The coins could be split evenly enough…maybe even a bit given to Clotha for a future dowry.
Lastly, he examined the crystal shard. “Ardwynn, lass, how tall are you? Let’s have a compare against this.”

Shielding his eyes from the blinding magic coming from the crystal shard Reg notes the armour bears some Fay enchantment, as do two of the three jars.
The shard reminds him of the tale of Ereworns fall....perhaps he should read it over again....

OOC: I think I missed something, why would we leave and come back?

OOC I figured search for treasure, but when better rested?
"It's ok," Barn admits to Smiling Jack. "Ned almost p-put me down right after he put you d-down. I k-kind of think he t-took it easy on us, actually."
Barn looks around at the root and hole-filled cavern and sighs. "Think I'd r-rather sleep under the stars tonight, b-but no rush."
Tottering around, using his halberd as a makeshift pole to lean on, Barn helps anyone searching the area for anything.
