Amar turns his attention to the orc, "Lets start with your name, Orc. Frankly my friends and I don't have a lot of time, and less to find out if you're trustworthy. How did you get chained to wall?"
“The hobgoblins were clever,” shrugs the orc, “I will fight the goblinkind as your ally if you set me free.”
Zerys quietly approches the freed woman, offers her water and asks, " tell me how you got here "
The woman drinks eagerly and then explains that they were traveling east from the keep when hobgoblins ambushed them where the forest, road, and river are closest. The hobgoblins had them outnumbered so they surrendered. They were dragged through the forest and back to there lair where they were tortured for pleasure. Lhodis seemed to get the worst of that.
“I believed they meant to eat us. We must leave this awful place!” she finishes.
Markas will hand the keys back to Amar with a meaningful: "If you feel it can be trusted". If the humans seem to be able to walk on their own, Markas will head back out of the room to make sure nothing is approaching and to see where Brumdal got off to.

The humans can walk on their own. Additionally all of the prisoners have full hit points--except for Lhodis who as 1 hp. They are all in tattered clothes (AC 10 + DEX Modifier) and are unarmed.
Also one other bookkeeping item: @Amar and @Pagan, your torches need to be replaced at this point otherwise they might go out at an inopportune time. (Relighting with a tinderbox just takes an action, so it's not a time-consuming affair.) Javon's torch seems healthy.
Javon has entered the room and has put the fire pit between him and the prisoners. He is alert and watching in all directions.
Brumdal at this point as made it back to room where the fracas started with the hobgoblins. He has successfully retrieved all of his javelins.
@Brumdal, I assume you want to make your way back to rejoin with the others.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The orc rubs at his now free wrists and nods at Amar in what appears as appreciation. He watches all of you for a moment and then purposely moves over to the table with the torture implements and starts examining the various objects.
The gnoll's mouth froths and his eyes widen as Amar approaches and locks eyes his eyes on the gnolls. With a subtle wave of his hand, he says "we are friends..."
Amar casts Charm Person on the gnoll who attempts to resist it (DC 14 WIS Save): 16
A look of friendliness washes over the gnoll as he continues to gaze at Amar. His breathing becomes more relaxed and he says something which sounds like a question as he nods toward his shackled wrists.
Amar addresses the gnoll, "We'll get to the chains soon good buddy, how did you get here? "
Assuming his answers generally follow the others tales of woe, I would like to follow it up with, "Hey a few minutes ago would you have tried to kill me?"
The gnoll looks at Amar with crazy eyes trying to comprehend him; he looks as though he doesn’t know what Amar said ... but despite that it touched him deep down inside.
“The hobgoblins were clever,” shrugs the orc, “I will fight the goblinkind as your ally if you set me free.”
”My name is Vrutha.”
Markas will unshakle Lhodis.
Markas releases Lhodis. He stumbles a moment, but manages to steady himself.
“Water ...” he gasps.
The woman stares at him with a look of happiness and hopefulness.
The other humans seem relieved.
The orc is stoic.
The gnoll pants and licks his lips.

If not cast charm person.
Zerys quietly approches the freed woman, offers her water and asks, " tell me how you got here "
Markas will give Lhodis some water, then release the remaining humans, but leave the gnoll and orc shackled for now.
You easily do that and the humans are grateful.
The gnoll thrashes as he sees he is not being released. The orc is more in control, only letting out an exasperated groan.

The orc’s Insight check to parse Amar’s words and discern his intention: 6
“You do not need to magick me, human. I will fight with you and then go back to my band once we’re out of here. “
He nods toward the gnoll.
“Your charms our better saved for that. He be crazy and will kill us all given the chance.”

Amar will relight a torch.
He'll nod sagely to the Orc. "Perhaps you're right. Note that we will not harm you unless you attack. I agree to your terms"
Amar frees Vurtha.
Amar to the freed hostages, "Arm yourselves with what your late hosts dropped as we pass by them. You may need to fight"
Amar then proceeds to attempt a charm of the gnoll.
Zerys keeps a watchful eye on the Orc.
Amar casts Charm Person on the gnoll who attempts to resist it (DC 14 WIS Save): 16
I believe that was your last spell slot, but you could use your 2 sorcerer points to create another spell slot, did you want to do that now?
Yes, lets give that another try
Javon, Markas, and Zerys all feel a sense of pity for the restrained gnoll.
