"Ohhhh booooy." Cora moaned, her eyes crossing a bit for a moment as her stomach writhed at the thought of the procedure - and with a lack of proper supplies, wasn't looking forward to the experience. She started sweating.
Cora looks over at Yasei, trying to figure out if she's being serious or not, and then looks over to Danica to analyze her expression. Cora herself didn't consider that idea, nor felt compelled to bash her on the face and make her unconscious.
[Good thing you had advantage on that roll haha a 19 is way better than a 1. That coulda got messy.]
The blade cuts through the infected flesh with ease, sealing the wound as it goes. Decomposing gasses escape the surface of the skin as Bert knocks the blade down through the bone with a rock. It is a clean cut, and the heat seals the wound. Sally's mum, Suzie awakes sudden;y, lets out a single scream, then faints from the sight.
The procedure finishes, and Danica manages to patch the wound in some relatively clean rags. Job well done!
Bert says "I'm happy to stay here, you know until she awakes." He says, brushing her hair out from her face and placing a cloth on her forehead.
Garlic has been following you guys around all day, saying next to nothing about the situation you’ve seemed to found yourselves in. In fact, if you diddnt know any better, you could swear he’s sleep walking....
The sound of Cora fainting bodily to the floor seems to snap the Orc out of the daze he’s been in. He takes in the surgery scene with wide eyes, as if seeing it for the first time, but the blood and puss doesn’t seem to faze him, as he simply bends down to check on Cora, who he may *gently* slap awake if needed.
Danica gave the scene a sad look. "Such a waste..." She whispered. Back home, the poor woman's leg could have been saved. Of course, back home the druids had magical healing. She looked at Bert and replied "Yes, please. Also, my thanks for your help."
Cora slowly wakes as Onion slaps her. Groggily, she gets up off the floor, rubbing her head where she hit it on the way down while fainting.. "Sorry, uh. I was, uh, just resting. The heat and all. Yeah?" She says, unconvincingly.
Yasei: "Be brave, young Sally. Your mother is quite strong, and will be fine. The discipline of strength instills resistance without complaint, and also teaches courtesy. It demands that we not ruin the pleasure or serenity of others through the expression of our own sadness or pain."
With a slight look of awe, both towards Suzie as well as Sally, Yasei bows deeply towards Sally, honoring her for her bravery.
Danica looks at Sally with kind eyes. "I wont lie, kiddo, it's gonna be rough but she'll recover. She gonna need a staff or crutches or something like that to move around. Though, yeah, at least she'll be alive and moving."
“Good job everyone!” Cora cheers. “..I’m gonna get some fresh air.” She exits the home and takes a deep breath of the hot stifling afternoon air, letting the sun hit her face.
It’s only about mid day as you make your way back to Dicey Joe. As you make your way up, you see a small group of Bugbears guarding a crate carried by orcs. They are handing out bottles of water to each house hold and people are welcoming the deliveries with a look of relief on their faces.
You walk into Joe’s shop and he greets you;
”ahhhh, well if it ain’t my spring chickens. And with my lunch brought back to me as well! Well done, well done...” He says. He clicks his fingers and points to the cages. The large lizardfolk walks up to the largest wall and unlocks the padlock. He pulls the metal shutters aside which concertina to the side with a loud crash.
You can pick a weapon loadout of your choice from the Player’s handbook and you get a wasteland, leather wrap version of it. (No shields or armour unfortunately.)
While you’re perusing the stock, he says “you can go back to Barry and let ‘I’m know we’re even once ya done, eh?”
Cora sighed a silent puff of relief. The girl was off the hook. She walked over to the weapons and looked at them. The bigger weapons didnt look right, didnt feel right. She picked up a few dagger. Those felt too light in her hands. She picked up other weapons but again, those also didnt “feel” right. Eventually, the shorter swords she held, and those felt good. She slowly tested them, carefully thrusting and slashing. The movements felt better, and at the edges of her perception, like remembering how to ride a bicycle, something “clicked”. She had no idea why.
Danica's most potent weapon was her body, never the less she chose a staff that she could use as a walking stick, a sickle on the off chance there were mushrooms or such to harvest and finally a light crossbow with bolts for ranged attacks. She eyed Joe, sorely tempted to take a dagger and show him first hand what Sally's mother was going through, but aware of the nearby goons that might make things difficult.

Got +5 to medicine so I'll roll.

Nice. Lots of gory details haha.
Yasei: "Perhaps I could knock her out cold, therefore she wouldn't be awake to feel the pain and agony?"
Last to know and first to be blamed...

Cora watched the whole procedure. She started to feel a bit lightheaded, and says..
"I think..I think.."
And faints with a loud thud.

"Is mum gonna be okay?" Sally asks, emerging from behind a curtain.

[Nicely done. So where to now? You have Joe's lunch and met Bert. Did Yasei want to charcoal on Sally's face?]

OOC: Yep, Yasei wants to put a fake black eye on the little girl, and then we’ll all bring her and the lunch back to Joe.
