“Yes, it is...somewhat taxing on me. Those are visions shared from our collective memories. It is... difficult to tap into the cloud of memories and relay them telepathically.”
Yasei keeps repeating under her breath "Filthy animals..." over and over. Finally coming back to her senses, through gritted teeth, she tells the thri kreen "I am sorry for your loss. It's not honorable, what those....animals.....did to you and your kind. I give you my word, on my family's name, that I will avenge your kind."
Later, "What do you know of this animal named 'Barry'? He's apparently our jailer, and has sent us on a quest. We're to slay an ankheg. Is this an honorable thing to do? And is this 'Barry' to be trusted?"
“Barry the lasher... He is the one’s attention you needed to gain. Do not worry yourself about what he is like as an individual, he is merely a pawn in a larger game. He contacts Sledge, their leader, often. I feel like he will ask something of you in time which will help clarify his true nature. Why do you think he’s arming you up...?”
”The ankhegs are natural fauna of this place. If slaying one is for our greater campaign, then I would deem it honourable.”
She then pulls out her longsword, grabs it with two hands (one on each end), and bows towards the thri kreen, and recites "At times because of one man’s evil, ten thousand people suffer. I will kill that one man to let the tens of thousands live. Here, truly, the blade that deals death becomes the sword that saves lives."
Sheathing her sword, she then asks the thri kreen "How do you suggest we proceed, Muryokuna mono?"
"Follow his orders." It says. "If you require anything to help aid your quest, let me know and I can see what I can obtain for you. Until then, you know where to find me and I will be listening as best I can."
Cora nodded in agreement and understanding. She turned to Yasei curiously. “Are you making up all of this wisdom you’re saying? How do you know so much in such a short time?”
A funny feeling touched her as well, and as Cora stared at Yasei with interest and wonder, as silly as it sounded, she got the smallest feeling of deja vu. Don't be silly, Cora, you've never met this woman before. Almost imperceptibly, she looked away and made a quick chuckling noise, as if the notion was completely ridiculous.
"I envy you." She finally said. "You have a clear vision of where you are from. Where you are. Where you want to go." She looked at Dani, at Garlic. "All of you do. I don't even know where I am. I have..these feelings..? Sensations. Like, at some point, I was something. But, I feel like nothing. No one. The earliest memory I have is waking up in the burning sand just outside this..place. Nothing more. I have no idea who I am, or what I can do. I have so many questions, and I struggle to understand my situation." She turned to Bugperson. "I will do as you say." She turned to the others. "I am with you."
Cora, you feel a shiver up your spine. Roll a perception check.
Kha'zix shifts slightly and looks around. It begins to leave into a small hole in the side of a building. In your minds, you hear "Sledge is their king. He must die."
Yasei: "Sledge, huh? What is a 'king'? Is that similar to an emperor? I'm not familiar with that term."
Quietly, to herself, you hear Yasei start to mumble sing: "If you could take my pulse right now, It would feel just like a sledgehammer, If you could feel my heart beat now, It would hit you like a sledgehammer..."
Ever since his little episode, Gaelic has been standing beside the group as a silent sentinal, rolling through the surprises with surspring grace, or maybe just indifference, it’s hard to get visual or verbal clues from a silent bundle of heavy cloth. When the telepathy part happened, the Orc man sat down on the ground, seemingly to get his barrings, but he hasn’t really gotten up, or really reacted to any outside stimulus yet. He hid his quickly graying hands into the numerous folds of his cloak at some point, there’s literally not a strip of visual flesh to be seen.
Cora spots a face looking at you once the Thri-kreen moves. It's a familiar face, but you have no idea where from. A man in a hood, but you managed to just see his face. He ducks away the moment you lock eyes with him.
The feelings Cora experiences in this moment are indescribable. Her heart explodes and shivers run throughout her body. But his eyes- his eyes fill you with... rage?
Cora said nothing, frozen in indecision. She just looked at the man for an instant. The hooded man behind the Bugman. Suddenly, it was like something took over. Her heart was pounding in her chest the moment their eyes locked. She shivered, her muscles tense. What? Who was that? What's happening?! The sight of him woke up something deep. Deep in her gut. Maybe deeper. Perhaps down in her soul. It got warm, then quickly hot. Feverish. Her hands clenched into tight fists, and she felt like she hand enough adrenaline to punch a hole in the paneling next to her - she was clenching so hard the veins in her arms and hands stood out clearly, she felt the rush of blood engorging them.
Ohhhhh, yessss....yessssss...
It felt good, almost orgasmic. This new sensation violently welling up in her after seeing the hooded figure made her mad it almost felt..sexual. Her brain was trying to comprehend the new feelings but something deep in her gut was awake one more. And it took over.
"GRGRrRrRR!!!" She growled and was then no longer in control. She ran past the bugman to where the hooded man was, and stopped - her head darted around like a feral animal looking for him.
Yasei, sensing Crispy-san's tension, rapidly throws her cloak back and places one hand on her katana and one hand on her wakizashi, sensing danger. Upon seeing Crispy bolt forward, giving chase to someone/something, she rapidly follows suit. "Kuso! What is it, Crispy-san?!"
"What does it look like!?" Cora yelled. "That man! Didn't you see him?! Who..who is that!? He was right there!"
Her gaze went back and forth and she stood there, desperately searching for the hooded man, but was nowhere to be found. She was breathing heavy, her heart pounding in her chest. She leaned against the wallboards and tried to calm herself down. She made a remarkable conscious effort to breathe and relax, and thankfully, after a moment, it worked. She was hot, and sweaty, and her whole body felt tight. Her head was pounding.
"I'm sorry." she said, weakly. "I got so mad. I..I don't know why. Something's not right with me. I don't understand. Why..why is this happening to me..I think it's this place."

"Those visions you just showed us, but later, you seem tired from your efforts." Danica replied.
“Yes, it is...somewhat taxing on me. Those are visions shared from our collective memories. It is... difficult to tap into the cloud of memories and relay them telepathically.”

Danica frowned. "So, is this Sledge also a pawn or will getting rid of him help improve this area?"
Yasei turns to Crispy-san, and recites the following parable:
Nobushige, a soldier, came to Hakuin, a famous Zen Master, and asked, “Is there really a paradise and a hell?”
“Who are you?” inquired Hakuin.
“I am a samurai,” Nobushige replied.
“You, a samurai!” exclaimed Hakuin. “What kind of lord would have you as his guard? You look like a beggar!”
Nobushige became so enraged that he began to draw his sword.
Hakuin continued, “So you have a sword. It is probably too dull to even cut off my head.”
Nobushige brandished his weapon.
Hakuin remarked, “Here, open the gates of hell.”
At these words the perceptive samurai sheathed his sword and bowed.
“Here, open the gates of paradise,” said Hakuin.
