Fenchurch tried to keep a level head. Bad news; the man with the bird was likely in the stocks, and with him the only lead he had on Mar'Vell's missing property. The good news is that he now knew where the man with the bird was going; he just needed a bit of help doing what he needed to do once there. He tried to locate the laconic orc, the clever elf, and the eccentric human woman who had followed him. When [OOC: if?] he located them, he put on his most dashing smile and convincing voice and said.
"So, it looks like your friend found himself on the wrong side of the law. So, who fancies a jailbreak?"
Zephyr flies between Tangle and the trap door, weaving past children, and back again. All the while she makes such a racket that people may doubt she could ever be a silent predator of the night.
[Holy symbols and arcane/druid foci are substitutes for simple and cheap material components. Does that mean Perry can cast verbal spells without it? I know somatic is out since Perry's hands are cuffed. The only spell Perry has prepared that only has a verbal component is command, but I can get pretty creative with it.]
Tangle ducks, then laughs as Zephyr gets tangled (get it!?) in her unruly hair. She helps him out and lets him perch on her hand, then she looks at him seriously. "Is your friend is in trouble, little spirit? Why are you not with him? Can you take us to him? Are you..." then Fenchurch interrupts with his declaration, and Tangle turns back to Zephyr. "What were you doing, little feathers? Did he ask you a favor? Can you show us?"
On the off chance that works, Tangle will follow Zephyr wherever he leads. If, as I suspect, he just cocks his head and stares at her, she will stare back. Either way, the next conversation, either in the middle of the street or over the manhole will be:
"I do not think breaking the law will assist Perrance with trouble created by breaking the law. Even a boggart knows you cannot dig your way out of a hole you are in. We should see what his feathered friend can tell us, or, how do you say it, talk Perrance out of trouble. It does not look like he has hurt anyone. Your people are fond of fines, to pay for your tree cutters and such, no?"

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Whatever the conversation going on around her about Perry, Tangle will examine the manhole cover, then ask Wolf Pup to pry it up. Mindful of the law, she does not bare her weapons on the street, but she does make sure they are ready to draw. If Wolf Pup does open it up, she will peer inside carefully (poking her head over, using the street, as it were, for 3/4 cover).
Investigation: 12
OOC > The evil manhole cover looks fine guys! Sigh.
OOC: Perry can cast spells that are just require verbal components, but will need to be cautious because there is still a guard nearby and they have been told to gag you if they hear you beginning to chant in a strange way. ( Half of the reason you got arrested is for performing magic illegally. )
The Gang:
A close inspection reveals the trap door is actually the lid to the sewers. Down the alleyway you can see two guards have just arrived and are beginning to examine the opposite entrance of the alleyway closely.
Wolf Pup strokes his chin, “I am unsure about this ‘jailbreak.’ However, I am in favor of finding Perrance, if only because he was kind to me. I desire to return help to him in kind. I will follow you, seer.”
Wolf Pup will making various grinding noises, speaking Terran (Which is just a different accent of Auran) to Zephyr, “Where is the one known as ‘Perrance?’”

Tangle stands up from her ineffective investigation. After Wolf Pup grinds out some Terran, Tangle tries a little Sylvan, “We will go to find your friend, little one.”
Then to Fen, “Let us go see the... constables?” she ends awkwardly. “Person stables... you call it something we do not have... starts with a juh sound...” she frowns. “Let us see to Perrance! Lead the way, Fenchurch the Seer!”
And she follows Fen to the jail.

Meanwhile, Perry sizes up the guard and tries to remember the route to this room and any other guards that might be posted. With his hands bound and his glove with the silver symbol confiscated, he doesn't have many options. If only he could free his hands...

It's not hard to locate the jailhouse. It is a simple, two-story, stone building the is attached to the northern wall of the city. All of the windows have iron bars on them and the symbol of the city's guard is etched into the sign. The door is currently propped open; most likely to allow the breeze to flow in.
"I can't believe I've been roped into this", Barb walks up to the entrance of the jail and leans her back against the threshold, arms crossed, " ah'guess I'll anchor the entrance, anything fishy and I'll give a signal."
Fenchurch follows Tangle in. While his assessment of the elf's skills suggests that she probably won't need his help, he hopes that he can find a way to keep any guardsmen out of the way of their activities without resorting to fisticuffs. As he walks past Barbara, he gives a quiet nod of thanks.
]The room before you is simple and bland. There's a set of benches against the wall, a desk, and a few shelves that are filled with small metal boxes on them. there are two doorways in the room. An older woman sits at the desk reading over some papers. At your entrance the old woman looks up from her reading and gives each of those in the room a glance over. She takes off her glasses and tucks her hands underneath her chin.
"Hello, is there something I may help you with?"
Jinn:
The field is vast and wide. You see a few rabbits now and then as you continue toward the distant wall of trees that is the nearby forest.
Zephyr:
Sitting there for a while becomes unnerving to the owl, her attention caught between watching over the sewer pipe and keeping her eyes locked with a nearby cat that has wandered over. In the middle of the staring contest with the feline Zephyr feels the lid she is standing on suddenly lift up, startling her and forcing her to take flight. She watches someone or something climbs up out of the sewer. The small cloaked figure doesn't seem to notice her as they close the lid once more and take off out of the alley.

She heads towards the woods ever so often checking her surroundings to make sure no one has followed her.
She feared for the safety of other, for the unknown lurked around aiming to destroy her and anything or anyone who stands in it's way.
When I finally find this bastard who wants me dead I will go against my oath to kill them for harming other life.
This was her creed to herself. She swore to kill the man or woman who was aiming for her head.
Many lives had already been loss to keep the good doctor alive. Many which she had known and loved.
She ran as far as she could into the woods, looking for a place to set up camp.
