Zephyr gets the feeling that no one will be around to collect the offerings for a long time. From the way the statue is decorated it suggests that all offerings are left there until the end of the festival.
Wolf Pup seems taken aback by the small woman, but will sit on the floor nonetheless, in proper Kigahara fashion. He counts the questions on his hand as he lists off answers, “I am well. My name is Wolf Pup. I like Sencha, if you happen to have any. Thank you for your kind offer, I will take some. They are very ‘cute.’”

OOC > Tangle is no longer miffed, but amused that Perry's internal monologue forgot she's a Summer Eladrin rogue with a tangle of red gold hair, not an Air Genasi doctor who is off mulling her existence in the woods. I'll include a little more description in posts for a bit. :)
Tangle's head is on a swivel all the way up to the office. Once there, she smiles in delight at the room and the halflings. "You may name me Tangle," she sketches a short curtsy. "All these books, we have them, of course, but we keep our enetellaim' alive by telling them to each other..." she looks at the tiefling, "Even in our dreams. Do you have vanilla?"

OOC: Narcessca is a character very dear to my heart. I won't lie in saying shes based off of a mix of Jester and a vampire.
The tiefling woman nods as you each talk about yourselves and passes out tea and cookies to those who want it. The tea has a heavy herbal taste with a chasing hint of mint. Each time someone ask for a different kind of tea she passes it over the other woman who says a few words and hands it back. Once done she settle back in her chair rests her chin in and gives you a sly smile.
"Sooo~" She drawls. "A little birdie told me someone got in trouble with zhe law." She's pointedly staring at Perry being as he is the only one in at this point.
"Now if zhe guards sent you here I believe you must have something for me, perhaps a letter of some sort." She holds out one of her hands to you all.
Narcessca snatches the letter out from Wolf Pup. She scans through it quickly and nods. She jumps out of her seat once more and circles around Perry, taking in all aspects of him that she can see. "Alrighty zhen. Miss Guard Lady vants me to test you to see if you are speaking honestly. Now just hold still, I'm going to do something that will let us know if you are telling the truth; don't fight and zhis von't hurt a bit."
One of her hands clutch her holy symbol around her neck and the other draws a sigil in the air. Then everyone in the room is hit with a force of magical energy.
OOC: If anyone is interest, those who want to see if they can try and resist this effect, make a charisma saving throw. (DC:15)
After the spell is cast Narcessca turns to Tangle and says.
"Oh, and my apologies. I don't have any of zhis vanilla you are seeking. I'm allergic, you see."
“I do not see how such things with hel- I am secretly intimidated by most of you. The elf especially frightens me with her seemingly endless enthusiasm.” Wolf Pup blinks, “Oh. Yes, that’s very effective.”
OCC:Zone of truth. Those who fail the saving throw are compelled to speak to truth. Even if under the effects they can simply choose not to answer at all.
basically you are aware that the spell is effecting you and when you answer you answer truthfully, or simply refrain from answering all together.
The spell makes no difference to Tangle, she doesn’t lie unless required to. She cocks her head at Wolf Pup. “Every breath is an opportunity and a choice, it is curious that peoples with such short lives are not... ‘enthusiastic’ about every step they take.” She advances on Pup with a gleam in her eye, then laughs and turns to Narcessa, declining a tea if there is not vanilla. “But some fresh water would be grace, please.”
She will take her refreshment and go back to Wolf Pup, where she will pat him on the head kindly (he is sitting on the floor, yes?), then settle on the floor next to him, leaning on him.
"Vell let's begin. I will ask you several question and you will tell the answers as honestly as you can."
1. Vhat is your name?
2.Vhere are you from?
3. Vhat is your business in town?
4. Vhere does your magic come from? Is it divine in nature, come from zhe study of the arcane, or is it gifted from zhe elements?
5. Have you had any run ins vith the law before?
And finally I vant you to tell me, honestly, vhat lead to you being arrested? How exactly did it happen? Zhe papers say you claimed to go looking for smugglers. Vhy did you not seek out a magic permit if you were going to hunt down vhat could have been possibly dangerous smugglers? Vhat are the smugglers you seek and vhy do you think they are in the city? Is there a reason zhat you did not first alert zhe guards to your activities?"
"I dunno my name. The elf tha' raised me called me Peregrine. Tha' got shor'ened to Perry.
"I came from far away. I grew up on a small island inhabited by elves. Humans ain't allowed in the city much so I was kept in a small cottage. I came to Aquaria on Windride, though I didn' know i' was called tha' then. Got a boat from there.
"Came 'ere ta get a job as a guide or guard for the carnival as they moved to the next spot.
"I'm a Windwalker. A priest of Shaundakul. He gives my power. I keep his symbol on my glove but the guards took it.
"No.
"Got searched as I came in. Asked why. Was told smugglers dealin' in magic items. Learned 'bout a missin' cart full o' 'spolsives. Figured the smugglers took it or would know who did or where to find it. Figured they would do somethin' bad with it if they had the 'splosives an' missin' carts is what I'm sposed to help with as a Windwalker so I started ta look 'round. I saw some 'spicious lookin' folk in a cloak Wolf Pup saw with me earlier but we lost 'em then. I chased 'em this time and spotted two o' 'em chattin' in an alley. 'fore I could say "scuse me" they done thrown somethin' at me. I didn' wan' 'em gettin' away again, so I jumped over the thing 'n' used some magic to make one o' 'em halt. Then the thing they threw started lettin' out gas. I didn' know if it was poison 'nd the magic command I gave wouldn' 'old 'im for long so I circled 'round 'im an' used a blast o' wind to blow 'way the smoke and knock 'im back to the open so I could get some 'elp. When the smoke cleared, I saw the other one go down a sewer. The one I knocked down screamed magic to got the guards on me. In the confusion he got away an' I got put in a cell 'nd no one but me saw the smugglers. Guards didn' even check. No wonder they can' find 'em an' I found 'em in a day."
Perry talks in a very matter of fact tone all the way through his taleuntilthe very end when he is almost shouting in anger and frustration. He takes a calming breath before finishing in his matter of fact tone again.
"Didn' tell guards 'cause they 'parently can' find 'em themselves. All they woulda told me was tha' they had it under control and not to get involved or they woulda just been in the way. Smugglers could be guards. Smugglers don' know me. I'm impatient. Didn' want people to call me dumb for thinkin' there is a conspiracy. Had a hunch but no evidence so why'd they believe me in the first place? I can go on."
Zephyr is not mentioned at all. Perry doesn't want her hurt and she could be useful if this priestess decides to keep him in a cell instead of giving him a permit.
"Hmm. I can sense you have a good heart, but you seem a little reckless, notifying the guards to your activity might have kept this from happening. To be honest I'm not surprised they subdued you instead. Aggressive magic is a big no-no considering what happened a few years ago. You all are new so you probably don't know what happened do you? Well I won't bore you with all the details but an old man stormed into town one day claiming he had been wronged by someone in the city. He'd rant about a mad tyrant, a rising sea, storms, etc. Just a lot of doomsday stuff. Eventually, people decided he was just some lunatic and were content to ignore the fellow when he came to town. Then all of a sudden one day. Poof, half the city was just....gone. What remained where fire filled craters and rubble. Turns out he was a practitioner of dark arts. Countless lives where destroyed in a single instant by a mad man with power. Those with fancier vocabulary would call it 'The Day the Sun Fell'. No one could find him after that either, he vanished. I remember those next few days, the temple was so full. People to scared to leave for fear he'd return. That kind of thing leaves its mark on a people. The mayor instated new laws and regulations regarding magic and strangers."Narcessca says, voice somber. There's a brief pause before Holly speaks up.
"Enough of the past. I think I know about these smugglers your seeking. The Scales. Traders in counterfeit magic weapons and other magical goods, good at making fake copies of certain goods. Most easily identifiable by a tattoo on their bicep. The guards keep me alerted cause of my shop and my connection to the Magic Circle. But from what they have told me their presence and actions here in the city here is cautionary, a warning to prevent the Scales from even stepping foot in this town due to there being several cases in other port towns. Stopping an infestation before it starts, they're pulling out all the stops to keep this town clean. From what you've said Perrance, it doesn't match up what I've heard about them. Are you sure it's the Scales?"
Zephyr gets the feeling that no one will be around to collect the offerings for a long time. From the way the statue is decorated it suggests that all offerings are left there until the end of the festival.
