The group manages to not garner any unwanted attention on their way through the complex. After about half an hour, you manage to find the room with villagers, and a map. The villagers are in cages.
"To do what? None of us have heard of that clan. Why would you waste your time here? No matter, you are trespassing, so you'll be taken to the cells, with the villagers."

Soolaire quickly establishes the layout of the room. Thank you Father-Dragon, for blessing me with the sight to see past that fiend's poisoning words. He moves quickly to release the villagers from their cages. "Don't worry. We've been sent by the mayor to rescue you from these demons." While not loud, the whisper carries across the room. Reaching into Gideon's mind, he speaks to him telepathically. "Gideon. Tell me what that map shows. I'm hoping it's a map of this complex we're in."
Dastruns eyes shoot open wide, he quickly stands back up to his full hieght and starts to pop his neck and knuckles, "Ooooooooh, it seems like Yaktar was led astray as well. The villagers were kidnapped." He says to himself, but its loud enough form the guards to hear, "Well, before you attack me, you might wanna look in that bedroll, cause that's what gonna happen to you if you don't take me to your leader. Oh, and no tough guy stuff, like your gonna kill me or you rather die than sell out your leader. If that happens, I'll toss ya down a pit, starve ya, cut off one of your hands, and have the chef cook it for ya!" Dastrun gets a wild gleam in his eye when he says this.
As you look to undo the locks on their cages, the villagers, you check, and all are accounted for, elves, humans, women and children, and halflings, which could be either. However, the locks are particularly difficult to break [Imoxator, make a DC 15 Sleight of Hand check to unlock them]. The map is indeed a map of the complex.
"Thank you. The kobolds here took us away, and they told the border guards that we came here willingly. We were in shackles, right in front of them. And he genuinely believed them. Even if they did kidnap us, demons is too strong of a word to call fellow humanoids."
"Yer a fool if you think you can intimidate anyone here. Our clan is blessed that way. Jerry, take the corpses away and bury them. This brute made it obvious that's what they are. Yaktar was a gullible fool, and you should be worried for yourself, not us. Everyone of us here is as strong or stronger than him, and we have better equipment. In fact, you are already in manacles, while you've been distracted. Now come."
As you look to your wrists and feet, you can see that you have indeed been cuffed, and as the kobold tells you to come, you feel your body moving against your will [failed Charisma save].

Dastrun began to laugh, a deep belly laugh that had an edge to it. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahah, you think that lack of fear is your ally." Dastrun shook his head as he walked, "No, Yaktar was a good man, it is you who are the fools. You immunity to me scaring you is not a blessing, but a curse. Fear keeps you alive, if makes you run faster, jump higher. Only a fool would be proud to lack fear. Do you know why?" Dastrun looks at them with hard eyes, "Because being protected from my intimidation is not protection from me. This is not a threat, but a promise. You think that you are high and mighty with your strength and not being scared, but that means nothing to me. There is nothing that will stop me from killing you now, do you understand that, nothing. I have been traveling miles in search of my traitorous cousin to kill him, and do not intend to die until then. So know this, i will travel every continent, search every crevice, and kill anything that gets in my way. I will be the darkness of the night, I will kill everyone you have ever loved, and you will be helpless. Then you will know fear, it will seep into your bones and freeze your blood, and I will be there to see the beautiful look of fear on your face before I kill you as slowly and painfully as possible. You will starve with only your loved ones corpses to eat. Yes, you will experience the essence of fear from me"
"You really are a fool. We can feel fear, but you don't scare us. We know what to fear - that is our blessing. And we know that you are naught to fear. Your cousin should have killed you it seems."

Soolaire quickly unlocks the doors of the cages, freeing the villagers. "A demon is anything the Father-Dragon views as unworthy and corrupt. Which also encompasses all actual demons too." He grins. Without my flames, I must be some creature made from ash. Don't want to scare them with the fire right now. Reaching out to Gideon, he speaks with him, telepathically."Gideon. How is the map coming? We need to leave quickly."
Valen glanced at the map. He saw a large red cross, roughly where he assumed the party might be. This looks pretty accurate as far as I can tell. "Gideon, once you're done with the map, give it to the villagers. They'll have more need of it than us in the next couple minutes." Turning, Valen addressed the villagers. "If my friend Shashidiswara-" The Draconic rolled off his tounge as easily as ever. "-is done with you, I have a few questions. First, do you know why you were captured and brought here?"
Dastrun merley glances at them before giving a light chuckle, "Well then, I'll have to give you a reason to fear me." He then tries the gouge the nearest kobold, but his hoof gets caught in a crevice and he falls flat on his face.
"We have no idea why they took us here. We've been locked up here since we arrived, and they only bring us one meal a day, not speaking to us at all. One meal between the lot of us, mind you."
The guards start laughing at this event. "It seems you don't speak the common tongue fluently. What you did there is give us a reason to pity you. We ain't doing that though. We will use this opportunity to take away those weapons of yours, and that toy greataxe as well." Some kobolds climb on Dastrun as they remove his weapons, and take them in the opposite direction.

Valen sighed, frustrated that the villagers weren't privy to the information he wanted. "Alright. Secondly, are you all okay? You said you've only had one meal daily between the lot of you. I need to know if you all can make it back on your own." Valen cracked his knuckles, smiling. "We'll be taking care of the problem in a more permanent fashion." His smile faded as he took on a more serious tone. "If you do need help navigating out of here, I can assist you."
After the kobolds take his weapons, Dastrun tries to break the chains, but the steal is to strong. As he is there struggling, the kobolds laugh at him once more. All of the sudden all of his anger he has been keeping in check throughout this journey, breaks loose like a flood, and he blacks out. He wakes up to see himself standing on the ram of a raider ship, and a see of red before him. He shakes his head, "Well, might as well raise the level by a few feet" he says, and then dives into the water. As he sinks in into the ocean of red, his eyes drift shut in his dream, and snap open in the real world. Red...that's all that Dastrun sees, he roars and snaps the chains like there thread. That stops the kobolds from laughing. He then is standing there, with heaving breaths, and eyes full of bloodlust.
"We've only been here a short while, so we are fine. Luckily, a couple of us have familiars that stole more food for us. We'll be able to make it out on our own if we have the map."
"Bah. It broke the shackles around its legs. Get the spares on him." "Minotaur. Follow us once the shackles are back on."
And Dastrun cannot help but follow the kobolds as the new shackles are attached...

"Alright," Valen replied, nodding. Snatching the map off the wall, Valen drew from his pack a quill, which he used to sketch out a rough exit plan. Handing it to the villagers, he said, "Here is the way we came in. If you run into any kobolds, I can assure you that rushing them will give you a better chance of success. If you find any weapons, arm yourselves. I wish you the best of luck." Pausing, Valen thought of the blessing his mentor gave him before he set out. "May the wind be at your back, and may the sun guide you to success. And above all, may you make it back home safely." He turned his attention back to his companions. "We need a plan."
When arriving at the room where the villagers were kept in jails, John's first thought was about Yaktar and how truly he believed his tale, but that is not important at the moment, the villagers need to be rescued and Dastrun found.
Watching Valen get the map, John says: Valen, try seeing if there is a faster rout for the villagers to flee and see if by some divine intervention of the Lord of Light there is a room marked "Boss".
You (he turns to the villagers) flee as fast as you can. (turning to his companions) We need to find our way through this Den as best as we can and figure out where Dastrun must be. If he didn't follow us me must have been captured or is rampaging through the Den killing everything that moves.
John checks his crossbow bolt cases "only 16 left, I need to make each count". "Please, Lord of Light, Keeper of Justice, make our minds clear and true."
Gideon had been taken aback by the sight of the people in cages. Yaktar had lied to him, and he believed. This had caused him to be in lost in thought and unable to answer his companions. Now with eyes burning with vengeful fury he looks to the group. "The plan is simple." He stands and draws forth The Burning Talon, "We lead them out and kill all the vermin that get in our way. And come back to purge this mountain once and for all."

Valen's grinned at hearing Gideon's plan. "I'd like to go a bit more in depth on that. First off, we need to clear this place out from the top down. We'll seal off the exits, except for the one the villagers are heading out. Then, we relocate Dastrun. I get the feeling he'll be less than pleased to find out that we were duped. Third, here are the things we need to look out for: traps, magic items, and any form of records or vast stores of knowledge. Those are the three things I'd prefer we manage to keep. Finally, they have a leader. If we can kill him before the rest of the kobolds, we can possibly force them to surrender, which would save us a lot of trouble. We don't know how many there are in this place. It could be a hundred, it could be a thousand. Oh, and I think some livestock are also on the rescue list? They aren't as important, but I suppose we should try to keep them alive too. Brownie points. Anybody object?" The plan wasn't meant to be too complicated. It was created for one purpose: The destruction of these kobolds.
While the party bickers with plans on how to kill the kobolds most efficiently, Soolaire sits down on the ground. Like a bushel being removed from a covered candle, his flames erupt from his head, as his veins begin to glow. Father-Dragon, what is your will? Sitting patiently, he waits for a minute, before standing from the ground. "Our priority is the villager's safety. They are our mission: the kobolds are just an accessory. We quickly kill any who stand in the way of the villagers, and once they are safe, we can decide our next course of action." He grimaces. "Even if it is saving that reckless cow-man."
Dastrun look at the nearest gaurd, an idea brewing in his mind, he calls out to him, "Hey you there, whats with the ugly face. You look as if your face caught on fire, then was out out with pitchforks and shovels. It looks like your mother is a cow, and you take after most of her traits." He then laughs for a couple of seconds, before suddenly stopping, and muttering to himself, "Wait..........Shit". He then hangs his head.
Listening to Soolaire's opinion, John agrees but he thinks that now, finding Dastrun is part of their main ovjective: Soolaire, I agree that we should leed the villagers out of here, but I think that we need to find Dastrun . He might need help getting out of the situation he got himself in.
