Charles gets out of the water and gets his gun and holster from Jury. He draws his gun and takes aim at the Eladrin's chest, "Like my machine friend said, any last words?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Charles nods his head, "May your soul rest easy." He pulls the trigger (Attack: 23 Damage: 9), after the body slumps, "Our souls will meet soon in the afterlife..." he gives his gun and holster back to Jury and walks back in to the water.
Drago bows his head and gives the elf several moments of silence ...... "Ok Charles are you able to feel comfortable in the water while we rest? I need a shorter rest then the rest of you but if we plan on getting a full rest for the lot of you we can be ready to go at the end of it." Drago takes inventory of his abilities and is ready to help the group as best he can once they are fully rested.
Jury bows his head as well in a moment of silence.... Buuuuut just as soon as the moment passes, he's hands Charles back the ring to attune to. Meanwhile, he sets to work dragging the Eladrin corpse closer to Aboleth. He only pauses personally along the way to look to Grixx. "Warrior Grix. You should rest as well in sun room along with Drago. If something should happen--"Prince Verdict clamors out of his compartment, shutting the door on his way out, and flies his way on over to the Barbarian's shoulder. "Verdict shall notify you two immediately. I will join you once I have finished fully with recycling procedures."No further explanation is immediately forthcoming as Jury continues to drag the Eladrin on.

(@Ori: Rules for your ritual are posted on the OOC chat. I'll rule that after your experimentation with the Aboleth, Jury would know he cannot attempt this ritual on that creature, as he destroyed it completely to come up with that mysterious concoction.)
(@Superbad: Please describe exactly what Charles is doing, including his plan for resting. What happens next depends on your description.)
Grixx, Jury and Drago begin their long rest in the grassy room. Jury will be bale to start his necromantic ritual in the morning. Charles gains possession of the Ring of Water Walking.
Charles, currently, is just floating on his back in the water, he hasn't put on the ring. He has no intention to either.
During the long rest, Charles will lie on the beach somewhere (if there is one) and will try to submerge as much of his body in the water as he can. If you have any questions about how he is laying, what stuffed animal he may be sleeping with, or anything else, feel free to PM.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(@Superbad: LOL. Clearly, a small stuffed Aboleth is the only plausible answer.)
For the next 8 hours, as the others sleep, watch, and so on, Charles tries to find the best way to fall into slumber. Go too long without a dive and the skin starts to bubble. Stay too long in the water and you run the risk of falling asleep and breathing in water. Although he manages to briefly fall asleep for a few moments, he is eventually awakened by a sharp pain on his rubbery skin, reminding him it is time for another dip. The restlessness of his situation gets the best of the gunslinger, and none of the long hours constitute any proper rest.
-> In the 8 hours of attempted sleep, there are 48 opportunities for the acid damage to kick in. I'll say that Charles manages to go for a swim for the vast majority of them (75%), but some times he hits the snooze button, or is caught napping, etc. - Charles takes a total of 70 acid damage during the night (if it is indeed night, who knows...)
-> In this manner, at no point he manages to sleep for enough hours to gain the benefit of a long rest. None of the damage would heal.
-> When the group finishes their rest (even Drago with his shorter version) Charles is nowhere to be seen. His corpse, clothes, and ALL belongings have been absorbed by the Reincarnate spell. This includes his magic ammo and the Ring of Water Walking he had just been given.
(@All: This is it guys. I know it is sad but the disease was nasty. You had some good ideas, but not the time to implement them. The amulet has bought you some time regarding Grixx. Act carefully and you may still save the barbarian.)
(@Superbad: RIP Charles Whitebone, you'll be missed. As for the player, you can come back as soon as your Kenku character is ready.)
(@All: The rest of you can all assume your long rests go by with no trouble. Next, we resolve Jury's ritual right after he wakes up.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Having no need to rest in the same fashion as mortals, Jury had sat cross legged before the Eladrin on the beach, humming a tune as the last rays of light adorning the shield flickered and died. The humming goes on after, turning into a haunting tune as the night carried on. Every now and then, there whirs and clicks and spfffs that join the song. The result of a number of subroutines taking advantage of extended stillness to flush and clean out his systems. Verdict did what he could, but sleep too ultimately claimed him as well. An unfortunate flaw in the creatures design.
If Jury noticed any sounds of discomfort or more out of gunslinger, it never shows more than once. And that was in a glance in his general direction. But, Jury had not the vision, or the inclination to stand and check up on the man. The Gunslinger would either pull through in time, or call out for relief. And if the latter, he'd have offered the concoction as a final solution before heeding any wish that brokered death.
But none came, and soon enough even the humming stopped. But Jury remained aware. Painfully so. Thus, when sounds became shallow, he knew then... that he waited too long.
Come the end of Sentry's Rest, rather than investigate the gunslinger, Jury turned to his book and began studying his list of spells. The humming began anew, though the tone has shifted to the more feminine tone. Then, it turned into a full blown song. Not one accompanied by gestures or dance, but a song nonetheless.
Awoken by the song, Verdict awoke refreshed and ready to tackle a new day! However, just as he had been about ready to follow his master's instruction, if not due to Drago and the others, than because of his own curiosity, he flew off to check on him. Though sensing growing distress and that of tears, Jury never once looks back to see.
"Keep on, keep on... Marching. Soldier keep on marching on..."The warforged trails off there as the sound of the little homunculus began noisily crying in the background...
A couple hours later, he completes his embedding spells in mind for the next leg of the journey and begins the ritual. With Verdict out of commission for awhile more, Jury was on his own. Drawing upon the lingering magical emissions of the Aboleth, the inherit magical form of the Eladrin, and the souls of Law and Order -- bound by duty and contract for some time more -- Jury completes his last painting of blood, oil, and minute carvings in the skin with a loose metal.
If not for the eve's preparations, attempting without would've been folly. Could still be... But, he had to try to fashion Justice.
1st Check: 17 plus Guidance:2. (Wasn't sure if you wanted Medicine(+3) or Nature/Arcana(+8) so no mods included in roll itself.)

Drago flies back to Grixx. "Oh yeah, we should see if that neckless prevented your disease from progressing or not." Drago casts Lesser Restoration on Grixx. "Now take off the neckless and see if you are cured or of symptoms come back. If you are cured then the neckless can be used on anyone who might get ill."

Bone awakes with a SQUAAK! He is strangely familiar with the room he is currently in. He glances at the creature occupying the room, and shudders and scowls. He notices a strange ritual going on with a metal man that he SWEARS he has seen before. "Bone." he says in a voice that is VERY familiar to Jury.
You notice a bird-like humanoid, a Kenku. He has raven feathers with faint purple tips. His armor is studded leather, he has a longbow and a quiver on his back, with a rapier attached to his side.
(@Ori: Beautiful send off, although Jury's performance was about average. He knows he can do better. Also, I forgot to account for material costs. In the future, you might want to borrow some gold from your companions, but for this first go, please go ahead an delete from your inventory one Holy Water (flask) and two Oil (flask) as a proxy.)
As the group finishes their rest, a few things happen:
Jury performs and concludes his ritual. Although he gets a good understanding on how the Eladrin's anatomy differs from those of humans or even common elves, the ritual performance, much like the song, was about mediocre. Materials were a bit soaked and perhaps some semblance of emotion was still stuck in the warforged's throat. Nonetheless, something appears to be happening. The Eladrin's body begins to dry up around its bones and shrinks considerably. His neck snaps rapidly and sharply as if his dead eyes were searching for something. A high-pitched shriek is heard before the now small frame wakes up. Its movement are more dexterous and his skin more bouncy than either Law or Order. All in all, this is not a bad first try at this high level ritual. Jury has successfully raised a Topi. It seems to stare at its master, waiting to be baptized. Jury can hear the faint hissing of a snake coming from the creature.
Drago gets on his mobility scooter Burninator and opens the northwestern door. He sees a sandy hallway that goes for about 15 feet and then turns south. Approaching Grixx, he casts the spell. Nothing looks different. The barbarian feels no different. It seems he will have to attempt removing the magical Tymora's coin/amulet to find out with the restoration spell worked.
Bone opens his eyes and finds himself sitting on a stool. His memories are unchanged, albeit foggy at the moment. The small room he finds himself in is mostly water. He has been here before... with friends. They must be nearby.
Bone will head to Z10 (Z12 if Bone's Land Stride feature doesn't work with water: "...moving through nonmagical difficult terrain costs you no extra movement.")
He will draw his longbow and nock an arrow, just in case.
(@Lerus Done. Though when lacking gold, or just simply as an option, can I use those materials or similar such for the rituals? Such as Grixx's old Moon-Touched Greatsword? Speaking of which... should probably retrieve that now...)
"Hn. You will suffice." Jury states still in a feminine tone. Verdict slowly but surely makes its way to his master's shoulder with a sorrowful look about him. The warforged glances once to the little guy, and then over in the rough direction Grixx once laid in the sand. "His new form isn't here."Verdict seems to glare at Jury for a moment. But then it clicks! With a gleeful sounding shriek, he waves once to his new 'brother' before taking off southward to searching for a new being in the mix, eventually making his way towards AK-12. (Yes, I went there. Wanna fight about it?!)
In the meantime, Jury once more regards the topi. "Hm... Curious. I feel an unnatural temptation to call Tobi now... But no. Given the circumstances, I dub thee... Justice."The Topi's eyes flash golden. And then with little more than a nod, it bounds its way up to his shoulders.
"Drago! Grixx! Sal-u-tations! I come with several news! If you have not gone in and seen for yourself, Gunslinger Charles has died sometime during our rest... We will have to conduct a search of the area for his new form. Try not to be forceful. Also--"Jury takes off Justice and holds it up to the others, ignored the probably bewildered looks over the animated greeting. Said creature starts cackles and waves. "This is Justice. My new assistant. I would join you. However, I need to retrieve a few things. I shall meet you all back here." Jury doesn't waste a second before leaving the room to go retrieving the Moon-Touched Great Sword from the bottom of the water.
Drago hears Jury's words and quickly flies back into the room, and dash directly to where Charles used to be (whatever square is close, maybe AJ, 1). He gets off burninator and looks around. Profound sadness overcomes him but he remembers the rules for the contest and looks around for a new companion. "Are we supposed to have a new and improved Charles? I look forward to understanding how we can work together with a different makeup to our group."
"New? Yes. Improved? We shall find out once we see him!" Jury adds in passing without really breaking their pace. After setting Justice down at the edge of the beach once he got close to the edge with orders to keep on look out, Jury refreshes his Light on his shield before diving into the depths. Meanwhile, Verdictcontinues his journey..
