Twig sees the masked Kobold leaving, glad to be rid of it. Seeing that Garth appears well enough, and handling the final Kobold, Twig goes to her wounded teammates. Cor looks to be very beat up, even more so than Rad, so she jogs over to him to see if she can at least help stop the profuse bleeding.
Garth swings at the Kobold but it casually knocks the blow aside with its shield. It looks over its shoulder at its fleeing companion and, after a moment of hesitation, dashes away.
Garth Opportunity Attack: 8
You missed! Stab him again! Cut him! BURN HIM! STAB HIM!
(OOC: You may chase after the kobold if you want. He is 60 feet from his last spot.)
Rad Death Save: 16 (Success)
Cor Death Save: 7 (3 fails. If nobody stabilizes him this turn then he's permanently dead. The joys of the way I run initiative means every turn is in whatever order, so we can say his save is at the end.)
Seeing the kobold retreat, Garth puts his back to the creature and briefly pulls his pants down to shake his rear at the infuriating foe before standing straight and fixing his pants.
Now facing the kobold, he shook his fist and shouted, "you're so weak you should have a negative level adjustment, you gutless gecko!"
Garth then jogged back to Twig and their fallen companion.
Rad's wounds seemed to stop bleeding and his breathing leveled out. He remained unconscious, but he didn't share the same fate as then unfortunate half-elf a few yards away.
Out of combat.
(Experience will be added to your sheets.)
You had a party member die. And another is still unresponsive, though not deteriorating.
Garth stood over his fallen companion's body, and suddenly ran over to the two kobolds that Rad had killed, his stomach beginning to gurgle from the adrenaline that had been coursing his body.
"It may be better if I stayed away for a moment," he said to Twig, his body making a strange noise as if to punctuate his words. "Hopefully there won't be any wind for the next few minutes. I'll... guard Rad while I'm over here."
Crouching over the two kobold bodies, he began searching for equipment they could sell, and any coins they may have been carrying. Might as well be productive.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Garth investigation check: 15
For Garth:
On the bodies of the three dead kobolds, you find 3 daggers, three slings, a number of stone pellets, and a total of 18sp and 36cp. You also find a crude map of the surrounding area and the mountains to the north of Farrin. Some more, mostly useless, items are also found.
Twig is too stunned at the loss of a companion to know how to properly react. She moves Cor’s body near to Rad’s unconscious form, not wanting to abandon the body nor leave Rad unguarded. They move their camp accordingly. She offers to take next watch and encourages Garth to rest, doubting she'll be able to sleep for a while.
The group makes camp and Rad comes back to consciousness around the time everyone else woke up in the morning. Nothing eventful occurred for the rest of the night.
It is now early morning. (Everyone received a Short Rest except Twig)
"Now that we're rested, we probably should take a look at our equipment and make sure it's in working order before we head out. I'd hate to run into more of those ugly lizards and not be ready for 'em." Garth began to inspect his armor, shield, and sword, cleaning his equipment as he worked.
"What the heck is this!?" Garth exclaims, staring at this sword. He lifts his blade for his companions to see and points to an odd mark now visible on the blade.
"Looks like some sort of scorch mark from that blasted kobold last night, when he tried to hit me with his magic. I swear if I see those stupid lizards again..." He continues to mutter to himself, frustration over how the fight ended still visible on his face.

Twig is unable to save Cor, despite her ministrations. He coughs raggedly and then stops breathing altogether.

Rad gasps and wakes up suddenly "What did I miss? Did we get em'?"
Garth looked at Rad after the sudden awakening, and paused before responding.
"Sort of. The stupid masked kobold ran away, as did one of the others, so we killed three. But, Cor was killed during the fight."
Rad looks somber. "Well that is sad, we will give him a proper burial."
"Now that we're rested, we probably should take a look at our equipment and make sure it's in working order before we head out. I'd hate to run into more of those ugly lizards and not be ready for 'em." Garth began to inspect his armor, shield, and sword, cleaning his equipment as he worked.
Garth sees his equipment in working order, but his sword has a scorch mark on it in the shape of flames.
