"Perhaps the key is something we'll find when we solve the puzzle with the skulls. Why don't we head downstairs and deposit our new skulls? Plus with that glowing orb from the bedroom below us we can see into the dark room connected to the kitchen." Garth began heading to the stairs leading to the bedroom.
Twig nodded in agreement, following Garth. “Great plan. Also, if there are no objections, I would like to keep the orb. At least for a while.” Twig grins as she grabs the orb from the dresser, and heads downstairs the way they came. Upon entering the kitchen, she heads towards the pantry.
”Since we are already here....” Twig opens the pantry door and holds the orb up to the darkness.
(If nothing happens, she puts orb partially in darkness while maintaining her hold. If that fails she sets the orb on the ground and pushes it in gradually until the orb is all the way in)
"Huh, well isn't that weird. Is there any rope around here? I'm volunteering to go in there, as long as I have some rope connecting me back to you guys." Garth said, rummaging through his pack.
Garth ventures into the darkness and quickly runs into what appear to be shelves and hears a slight rattle that sounds a bit like glass. His foot hits a round object, causing it to roll away and bump into a wall.
His feet slipped on something on the ground and he fell over backwards. His head and shoulders exited the darkness while his legs remained in the room. He found himself looking up at Twig holding a length of rope that led to his waist. Nearby his head, hundreds of grains of dry rice were on the floor, probably causing his tumble.
Twig glares at the sky, feeling like some unknown being is arbitrarily playing with her fate.
She grins apologetically at Garth. “Sorry about the rice” she winces.
Twig helps Garth to his feet and then, getting on her paws and knees, starts to search for the orb that Garth accidentally kicked farther into the darkness, being careful of the glass that may have broken earlier. (If she cant find it) Unable to find the orb, she scoots into the darkness, straining her eyes and ears to discern anything.
Grabbing the orb, Twig rolls it out of the pantry. Standing, she begins to feel the shelves, trying to figure out what she is surrounded by, careful not to slip on the rice.
Twig feels broken glass and some liquid on one of the shelves where she had broken a bottle with the ladle. She also finds a mostly round object that had three large holes, one of them not as smooth as the other. It also is less round at the base.

"Let's go to the room with the weird purple liquid before we drop off the skulls. I bet if we knock over the container with the liquid we'll find a skull in there." Garth said as he untied the rope from around his waist.
Twig picks up the fiery orb, and she and Garth walk to the room with the purple liquid. The pitcher is much smaller than either of them remembers, so they decide not to dump it out yet (unless Garth Decides to.) They deposit the skulls that they found in the room with the others, and head back towards the kitchen on their way upstairs. Twig pauses and remembers the room with the butterflies. Because the house had only tried to kill them once, she decided that it was worth the risk to go take a look. Twig goes and opens the door to the butterflies.
Twig opens the door to the room that housed the butterflies and a maelstrom of 600 butterflies swirls around the three adventurers, obscuring their vision to only about one or two feet in front of them. They can make out three huge shapes, however, that are flying with the others. Three of the butterflies are about four feet long and flying right at them. A purple one, a blue one, and a yellow one.

Twig hastily pockets the key and hurriedly drags her companions back to the room where they found Rivana’s remains.
The items cease pelting the adventurers and they hear a series of snickers from the previous room.

Rad follows them mechanically.
The orb rolls into the darkness and disappears from view, completely obscured by the darkness.

Twig pulls rope from her pack and helps fasten Garth.

Twig is able to feel a smooth, spherical object about the size of a small melon that feels warm to the touch under a shelf on the floor.

Twig takes the item into the lit room.
As Twig pulls the item out of the darkness, herself along with it, everyone is able to clearly see that it is another skull.
Rad grunts and says "Full moon," taking the skull from her paw.

(note, the container of glowing liquid is a pitcher. Not really big enough to fit a skull inside without magic)
