Rad tosses the biscuit to the rhino and backs up toward the manor. "He seems to just be guarding that gate. We should be able to continue inside the manor in peace."
The Rhino lets the biscuit hit it in its massive horn and drop to the ground without moving. It narrows its eyes as it looks at the biscuit and then Rad.

"Well... since that creature covered in runes doesn't seem to want us to leave until we go through the door covered in runes, it seems our next course of action is decided." With that, Garth stepped to the house and opened the door.
Once the door was open, Garth scanned the interior from the doorway.
Garth accidentally smacked himself in the forehead briefly when opening the door and his vision swam so much that he wasn't able to see anything about the inside of the manor.

As you step into the foyer, the main hallway on the first floor is directly in front of you. There is a closed door to your left and a stairwell to your right, leading to what you assume must be the second floor. There is also a smaller door beneath the stairs, possibly leading to a closet or storage room. The hallway in front of you extends quite a ways, where you can tell there are several other doors. Your attention is immediately drawn to the doorway beneath the stairs, however. From the second you stepped foot into the house, something began banging on the other side of the door. *BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!* The steady banging shows no sign of stopping.
The door is unlocked, and you can pull it open quite easily. After moving only a couple inches, however, the door is slammed closed as if someone were pulling it from the inside.

"Let's see who this bugger is." Garth said, stepping back up to the door and unslinging his shield. After getting a strong grip on the shield's leather straps with one hand, he opened the door with his other hand and quickly moved the edge of his shield into the doorway to prevent it from closing. He immediately pulled out his sword with his now free hand ready, and tightly held his shield with his other.
Garth rips the door open, fighting the resistance, and sees that the room is empty except for a human skull sitting on the floor with a symbol carved into its forehead.
Garth moves next to Twig, raising his shield and holding his sword ready, waiting to see what would happen.
The Rhino stands it's ground and stamps its feet once more, tossing it's head in threat. It lowered ita horn in Rad's direction.

Garth moved over to the door under the stairs and examined it, looking for any runes or locks that may be keeping the door closed.

"Oy, who's in there?" He yelled at the door to be heard over the banging coming from the other side.
Garth's greeting was met with the continued steady banging on the door. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!
He couldn't see a key hole or anything obvious that would be keeping the door closed other than a regular latch.

Twig opens the main doors that they entered from, trying to create an escape path for whatever is booming under the stairs.
”Get well out of the way” Twig says to her group, explaining her plan, curiosity perhaps overwhelming caution.
