(@Grant: Just to be clear, as I might've misinterpreted some descriptions before, but is there enough room alongside river where it enters into the gorge for an elephant walk along? And also, are we in general at the base of a gorge, or is the original bridge over a river at the bottom of a gorge?)
The bridge is over the river which is in the gorge. It is possible to walk along the top of the gorge which is about 30’ - 40’ above the river. It is not possible to get down to the river whilst it is in the gorge.
There isn't even a moment's hesitation. Without a word, she reigns in Golemogote with a few short commands, and has him backtrack to Mambo's last known position. If Dawnbringer hadn't done so when they hopefully got close enough on his own, then the construct sure to try and ask him aloud and plainly. But, if speaking aloud didn't do it, then she is just as quick to abandon the effort and hasten her return to Devin and Ebonitus. If there was any hope of arriving in time, they would need the stubborn young beast sooner than later to reach their destination in time.

The party make their way back to where the cart had been parked. Unfortunately without access to a forge and a wheel wright it is probably not going anywhere again as one of the wheels has had several spokes burnt away. Ebonitus picks up emanations of apology overlain with childlike glee as Mambo surveys the damage. Fortunately, and because the DM is a particularly nice bloke, your backpacks are all still OK; the problem is you now have to carry them.
Toruun, Beedo and Vark head off back the way they've come while D.O.R.K., Devin and Ebonitus mount Golemogote and head off back to the edge of the gorge to see if they can find Lukian's body. (OOC: whose carrying Dawnbringer or does Beedo - who managed to get it from the bridge - still have it?!). As they head along the edge of the gorge they can see that it definitely widens out into what looks like a flood plain half a mile or more down stream. It's going to take them at least an hour or more to make their way to the floodplain as every now and then they stop Golemogote and one of the party dismounts to go and look down into the gorge in case Lukian's body has been trapped on a rock or some such.
Mambo is happily following along setting fire to occasional small bushes with a great deal of glee.
(@GFC: As I thought was mentioned before.. D.O.R.K has it at the moment. But, she is more than willing to pass it off to Ebonitus or Devin.)
Until the others gave the orders to quit, or it appeared that Golemogote was growing too tired to continue, D.O.R.K mutely presses on for the flood plain. Though perhaps noone had spoken of it during the search, she at least had little doubt they'd be making the ill-fated meeting.

Devin grows quiet as they make their way along the river trying to find Lukian. Toruun is gone, Lukian is missing and its getting to be a bit too much. Aslan senses his mood and rubs against him purring but Devin remains sullen and quiet as he focuses his energy on looking for Lukian.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Golemogote plods along the edge of the gorge the various party members are deep in thought. Eventually they reach the edge of a cliff and can see that the fast flowing river spreads out across a wide flood plain where it quickly looses force as the water makes its way across the plain in a series of braided streams (think of the rivers you see in New Zealand or Alaska). As the party gazes across the floodplain and its many streams D.O.R.K. {22} Devin {19} and Ebonitus {18} Devin spots a small twist of smoke rising from a rocky outcrop over half a mile away. Straining his eyes he can just make out what looks like a large humanoid figure sitting on the ground tending the fire.
"I see someone down there. Quite a distance, maybe half a mile. Perhaps they have seen anything as we have not found Lukian yet. It doesn't appear to be Lukian though, the build is too big." This seems to be the only lead, or hope and Devin latches onto it. Not waiting for the others he begins to make his way towards the figure.
"Another Giant, perhaps? Or Giant-Kin, even?" D.O.R.K speculated aloud in monotone. Regardless of any other comments though, unless Ebonitus was to issue a command, she was on urging Mr. G onward after Devin. Along the way she mustered what focus was possible to mend her more organic parts. Yet all the same, she occasional felt the need to rub at her chest, or at the symbol upon her forehead, seeming lost in thought for the most part.

Devin heads down to flood plain with Golemogote a safe distance behind. As Devin starts wading through the water - at its deepest it will be knee-deep and in places quite fast flowing with a rocky bottom - Mambo who had been moving along excitedly beside him reaches the water and attempts to cross. Immediately Ebonitus picks up strong emanations of distress and fear from the fire elemental as its pulls back from the water.
Ebonitus communicates with Mambo, "Are you able to cross the stream safely?" He asks, "As you hover above the ground are you able to hover above the water?" whilst in the conversation, Ebonitus continues to scan the river and surrounds to see if there is any other sign of Lukian.

Ebonitus continues to scan the river and surrounds to see if there is any other sign of Lukian.
Ebonitus has found no sign of Lukian's body or his equipment leading him to conclusion that Lukian was washed out of the gorge. Whether he - or his body - is lying on one of the many rocky (pebbly/gravelly) islands that dot the floodplain remains to be seen?
As Ebonitus scans the floodplain, he looks for places that Mambo might be able to safely cross the stream(s). perception: 7
To D.O.R.K. (and Devin if he is within earshot/mindshot), "Lukian must have made it through the gorge - dead or alive - so he has probably washed up on one of these 'islands', I think we need to be careful about approaching this large humanoid ahead. We haven't had much luck in our dealings with these types of late." he says rather drolly.

D.O.R.K doesn't respond directly to Ebonitus, but would at least appear to be narrowing her passive scanning of their surroundings towards the islands for the most part.
At Devin's request, there is but a moment's hesitation before she gave the command for Mr. G to lower himself; allowing Devin to climb up or for her to get down long enough to recieve treatment. "I do not know. I have not asked. But either way, you should hold it. It will suit you more than me. I will also leave parlaying to you."She states before Devin got too far away. Once Dawnbringer is passed over, she gets back in the driver's seat, and this time has Mr. G follow after Devin more closely, but not so close as to risk splashing or accidental crushing should some pothole send the elephant down into the muck.
As for Mambo's predicament, she hardly seemed the least bit concerned or interested in addressing it.

As Devin is crossing one of the many streams that crisscross the flood plain he spots a human figure outlined in the twilight by what appears to be some sort of torch emerge from behind the giant. D.O.R.K. spots the figure simultanously. Ebonitus who is unsuccessful looking for solid ground - or at least ground not covered by water - to facilitate Mambo’s crossing does not spot the figure.
True to her word, D.O.R.K remained quiet to let Devin handle negotations. And while she didn't appear surprised at appearance of the new figure, apart from maintaining a fairly close and protective distance to Devin(and by extension Ebonitus, if possible), the usual protocols of having a weapon at the ready are not to be followed. Perhaps it was that she took the others desire to avoid fighting at heart. Or perhaps Torunn's admonishing yet weighed on the otherwise expressionless construct. Who could say?
Once they are close enough, lenses are focused in and out as she tried to study the new humanoid. Though at the first signs of the larger figure possibly rising at all, her attention would immediately dart to them; taking their measure, and weighing the odds of successfully escorting everyone out of the floodplains.

"Of course you may!" Lukian calls out, lowering his glowing sword. Once the elf speaks, the rest of the party recognizes his features, though he still appears to be either damp or at least still "matted down" from being in the river. He is limping and not he usual nimble self, though he sounds happy to see them. He turns his smiling face to look back over his shoulder at the huge form behind him. "This is ... Harshnag," Lukian says, sounding a bit like he's forcing congeniality. "He dragged me out of the river and has promised peace." He turns a quarter turn and motions toward the approaching party. "These are my traveling companions," he says to the giant. "Devin, Dork," he says as each gets close enough to be introduced, "Ebonitus, the elephant is called Golemogote, that glowing creature is Mambo ... " Lukian is clearly expecting to continue. When no one else arrives, he begins craning his neck to look the way the group had arrived from. "Where are the dwarf and the goblins?"
