Ebonitus spends about 10 minutes looking at the doors and discussing what to do with Illezenya and anybody else that wants to participate. As he explores the doors he can find no handles on his side - nor any hinges for that matter. This suggests that the doors might open inwards. One thing else that he discovers the doors is that the feel very cold - colder than he would expect just stone doors to feel.
During the discussion of the doors Devin tells the others what he saw using the Arcane Eye. "There is no door opening mechanism. What I can see however is the patina of ice covering the inside of the doors. Maybe there is a latch or opening system out of our reach but I fear the ice is preventing the doors from opening and we do not have the strength. Hopefully Harshnag can aid us in this way and get the door open."
He continues to use the Arcane Eye to explore the room on the other side of the door.
Without waiting to see what the rest of the party thought of her idea to get Harshnag, D.O.R.K. sets off. D.O.R.K. over to you to convince Harshnag to come and help.
Using his Arcane Eye, Devin continues to scout out the room on the other side of the doors.
What does Devin see?
Thick frost clings to every surface of this 100-foot-high vaulted chamber. Seven enormous statues dominate the room. The largest of them is an 80-foot-tall robed giant, his arms outstretched and his face hidden beneath a stony cowl, facing a glowing archway in the east wall. The archway is 40 feet wide and 40 feet tall. Six different runes are carved into it, each one inlaid with mithral, and a glowing mist fills the arch. Niches in the walls on either side of it contain empty, ice-covered sconces made of iron.
Kneeling in rows to each side of this statue are six statues half its size, each impressive in its own right and depicting a paragon of a type of giant: hill, stone, frost, fire, cloud, and storm. These smaller statues face the bigger one in the room’s center. In their outstretched arms, five of the giants hold weapons — gifts for their All-Father. Only the frost giant statue is unarmed.
The long walk back, as she made no attempt to hurry along, is one spent in silent contemplation. For while she still held true to her convictions, there were yet more failures on her part both unspoken of and uncounted that weighed on mind. With some perhaps even unthought of, as her mind roamed back towards the spiritual weapon conjured in the fight. Thinking of heart breaker, the battleaxe left to Vark, she sought to will the divine energy into its shape, and draw strength in seeing it again leveled upon their foes. Not the spear that formed instead.
Was it a sign? An ill-omen? A gentle reminder? Or something else altogether?
She almost missed having stepped outside as the question continued to roil about in her head without answers. But unless Harshnag was hidden, it was hard not to focus again on the present without the big, blue reminder of the next task at hand eventually coming into view. "Greetings again, Harshnag. We have dispatched of the interlopers, but have found as they have the way being shut fast. I would humbly request your assistance in the opening the door."She requests, bowing her head. Though after a moment, she thinks back to her earlier conversation with Dawnbringer and promptly straightened out again. "If this request offends you, I do apologize. However, if your intent is follow us inside but not assist at this juncture, then you may wish to carry on with any other outstanding business that you may have, as it may take us several days for us to manage on our own, given the door was only designed with giants in mind."
"I would never dare to extract such a promise from you, Harshnag. Whether your gods however do so of you, is of then your business of course." D.O.R.K replied, and with the matter hopefully settled, began making her way back to the door with giant friend in tow.
Harshnag follows D.O.R.K. back into the complex. When they reach the site of the battle he looks around and sees the bodies of the dead barbarians. When he sees the body of Wormtongue he says “well nobody will miss him!” but then spying the body of the Shaman on the platform beside the doors he goes up for a look. Examining her closely he mutters “well that could cause you some problems” to anybody within earshot before moving onto the doors and testing them. There is a tremendous crack as he forces them open “there you go”he says.
D.O.R.K either doesn't hear or pays no mind to Harshnag's words while pressing forward and beyond the newly made opening with torch in hand. Just far enough to be a few feet past the threshold, assuming noone stops her from doing so, and taking a look around as well. If there is no danger that appears or trap sprung upon such casual approach within moments, she'll glance back and up at Harshnag. "You have our thanks again, Harshnag."

Devin looks up at Harshnag after he cracks open the door. "Any chance you care to join us? Lots of statues in there that maybe you can help us figure out? But if you don't wish to enter I understand."
Devin tells the others what he has seen using the Arcane Eye before they enter.

He'll then continue looking around with the Arcane Eye for other doors or things of interest.
Mullo collects her tokens and stands. "Danger lies ahead," she says. She looks up at Harshnag. "Is there anything you can tell us about what awaits us?"
Devin looks up at Harshnag after he cracks open the door. "Any chance you care to join us? Lots of statues in there that maybe you can help us figure out? But if you don't wish to enter I understand." To this request Harshnag responds “the Gods chose this quest for you. If I was to accompany you then it would be my quest and no God has asked me indirectly – or directly for that matter …” he says with a laugh “… to participate in this quest!”
When Mullo asks him if there "is there anything you can tell us about what awaits us?" he replies“I’m afraid not!”
The room is exactly as Devin described it with the exception of two sets of double doors in the north and south walls. The runes start about 20 feet off the ground and occupy the top section of the archway.
(OOC: Sorry but Discord image wont load - open to suggestions?)
"In short, he is largely to be an observer of this leg of our venture."D.O.R.K commented on offhandedly while continuing to scan the room, if only absentmindedly so. "Mn.... If I had to guess based on context clues, finding or placing a suitable 'gift' for their All-Father into the hands of the frost giant statue may be required to activate or deactivate something regarding the archway. Further testing may be required, but I would not recommend anyone stepping through it without further study of the runes." She expressed before setting her attention to the double doors in the north. "Further investigation of this place is recommended, starting with perhaps the northern doors."She suggests to the others, and if in agreement, would begin making her over for a closer look.
Along the way, the construct tries to avoid getting too close to the statues along the way to the best of her ability. If upon reaching the other doors, they appear to be similarly iced over as the front doors, she'd bow her head, seeming almost defeated.

Ilezenya examines the runes around the glowing archway, the sconces on either side, and then looks at each of the statues and the weapons they are holding out. He is looking for clues as to what the runes mean, if the sconces are for anything other than torches, and what the weapons are...

Ebonitus agrees with D.o.R.K. "I think the Frost Giant is missing something, perhaps it has something to do with the bundle that the other Shaman was carrying." he says as he looks around the room.
Devin asks Harshnag if he knows where the Oracle might be, to which he responds "I'd guess its probably through the archway but how you operate it is beyond my ken?"
D.O.R.K., Ebonitus and illezenya explore the room, they quickly discover that while the double doors on the north and south walls probably open inwards they are covered with a 4-inch-thick layer of ice.
Mullo used as she is to small easily dismountable huts merely gazes around in awe.

"I suppose this was to be expected."The living construct commented as she stared at the door. She glances once back to Harshnag, considering the giant a moment, but then turns back to the door again. This time however, she tried to imagine how Torunn might've looked for weaknesses in either the door or the ice that might allow them to overcome the frozen barrier.
If nothing comes to mind though, then it is back to harshnag for her to call up and ask, "Apologies, Harshnag. But, might you open the doors to the north next?"
