It soon appears obvious to Illezenya that the creature is not distracted by the dancing lights as it continues towards them and is now about 30 feet away
(@Grant: I can't speak for everyone, but unless otherwise pressed by others, D.O.R.K and Vark would not have gotten more than within 50ft of Ilezenya/Torunn to try and maintain some measure of remaining hidden until the pair were either engaged/obviously attacked. With the Dork being reliant on Vark to help get to that positioning. Beedo regardless would've been further back from the group by 20ft at large)

@Grant: The intention was not to cluster around Ilezenya, but just to get closer. Ilezneya was scouting about 150' in front. When the clang happened, Toruun rushed forward, the rest of us were edging forward about 50' to assess the situation before acting. That leaves some 100' between us and Ilezenya at this stage.

Tirohia te Moana - Level 2 Cleric - What shall we do with the Drunken Sailor?
Ebonitus de Viribus - Level 4 Cleric - The Storm King's Thunder - The Gods Respond.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ilezenya calls down the Moon Maiden's vigilant blessing (giving himself advantage on the next initiative roll) and looks up. Is this passage tall enough that the Dusk Warden can use his Steps of Night ability to fly above and behind the snake-thing? If yes, that's what he'll do, trying to avoid the creature's notice.
If it's not a very tall tunnel, then he will use his steps of night to fly back towards the rest of his party (30' move - 60' total if he dashes) and tell them what's coming...
If none of that will work, then he will call upon his goddess and cast a streak of light to strike the snake. If it hits the creature, it will be outlined in a dim, glittering light which gives advantage on the next attack made against it. =) Rolls:
Attack: 26 Damage: 16 If he gets advantage because the monster can't see him: 8
(OOC: I presume for the moment we're out of initiative, or at least in a weird pause state for it. So for now...)
Once it's been made clear Torunn and Illezenya were within whispering distance -- either through her goblin assistance or perhaps even Mullo -- D.O.R.K quietly says, "Torunn. Dusk Warden. Report. Did you see a passage leading to our intended destination, or is there another concern we should be aware of? Or might it best be that we retreat, and prepare to establish some form of ambush closer to the ramp way?"

Illezenya was able to confirm that he saw at the limit of his considerable dark vision mining activity by a variety of humanoid figures being undertaken.
"Let's move forward then. Hanging out here in this corridor does nothing for us. Let's get closer and see what is going on." Devin replies a bit impatiently

Illezenya, Devin and Mullo can act in that order.
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Unless people tell me different I’m assuming you’re all now clustered around Illezenya.

Ok will post accordingly. In that case only Illezenya is the only one who can act as he is the only one that can see the cresture

Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
My response went walkabout.
Illezenya you are the only one who can act as you are the only one who can see the creature.

Illezenya - pls note that Toruun is with you. Are you leaving him behind?
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Yes...he will whisper to Toruun what he is about to do. And since the snake creature is wreathed in a flame-like radiance, wouldn't Toruun see it?
Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
Yes Toruun has seen it but what he’s doing about it I don’t know. Don’t even know what his initiative roll d
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Torunn (with a big 12 on his initiative roll) nods to Illezenya to retreat as well
PbP Character: A few ;)
As Illezenya and Toruun flee back towards the party the creature does not follow!

Yes you’re out of initiative so play continues.
Illezenya was able to confirm that he saw at the limit of his considerable dark vision mining activity by a variety of humanoid figures being undertaken.

"Giants?" Mullo whispers?
Illezenya replies “far shorter than that - more like dwarves and gnomes”
