As Ian moves to hide in the trees, Glynquinal fires an arrow his own, taking out another of the creatures. As Glynquinal moves to join Ian behind the trunks of the trees on the north side of the Trail, Herr Doktor uses his silver tongue to take out a third winged creature. The creatures, now fully aware and screeching angrily, swoop down at the three adventurers they can still see. As the (pigeon-sized) creatures get close, Gruxx swings at them with his glaive, but the agile little things dodge his attack.
One flies at Rock, but the dragonborn is able to deflect it. A second flies at Gruxx. The barbarian steps out of the way at the last second, and the creature slams into the ground, injuring itself (but it is still conscious). Three fly straight at Herr Doktor. The bard flails his arms, attempting to knock the creatures away. One is successfully batted away, but two land upon him and stick their needle-like probosces into him (6+5 damage).
Round 2: Rock (rage), Gruxx, Ian (hiding 30 feet away), Glyn (hiding 30 feet away), HDP, 5 creatures (2 are attached to HDP)
Glynquinal seeing the good Herr Doktor taking multiple hits focuses on a spot 20 feet above his head. Quickly dropping his bow and drawing out a small bit of fleece from his belt pouch, he speaks an arcane enchantment to cast Minor Illusion creating the image of a fiery phoenix coming for the two remaining attackers.
Glynquinal to the rest of the party, "Get into cover, there may be more of them!"
A reminder about minor illusion: If it is an image, it makes no sound and doesn't move at all. It's like a (muggle) picture. Is that still what you want to do, Glyn?
ooc: Yes, Glyn will still give that a try. Is it the lowest level that could be cast, and should it fail it won't cause Herr Doktor any harm like an arrow or crossbow bolt might if it missed.
I'll do this: If someone wants to try to hit a creature attached to HDP, they may do so at disadvantage. But they have to roll two attack rolls. The first (rolled at disadvantage) is for the creature. If it hits, it hits. If it misses, but the second roll (not rolled at disadvantage) is high enough to bypass HDP's AC, you hit him instead.
Addition: If you're using a light melee weapon, such as a dagger, I'll allow you to roll one attack roll as usual and not at disadvantage with the idea that you're using a weapon designed for precision.
Again, I'll ask (just to make sure in light of this new information): Do you still want to do the minor illusion, Glyn?
An image of a phoenix appears above Herr Doktor's head, but the creatures don't appear to notice it ... at least not before Herr Doktor stabs both creatures in quick succession with his daggers. The winged menaces fall from him, and he takes off for the trees.
No more appear.

If Glyn chooses to continue that course of action, the following is for HDPs turn. If Glyn changes his turn, I will post a new turn for HDP.
The doktor, his head in great pain, will attempt to stab at each of the winged creatures with his daggers.
Action
Dagger one to hit: 21
Dagger one damage: 7
Bonus
Dagger two to hit: 24
Dagger two damage: 6
He will then make for the trees, seeking cover.
Glyn will try the Minor Illusion, and do his best to remain hidden.
