It takes a little bit of time and effort for Ian to remove the arrow from the wolf's eye socket. With it comes the eye and even more gore. He attempts to clean it, but finds that between the impact with the wolf's skull, the removal, and trying to clean the arrow, it is no longer usable for its intended purpose.
OOC: I'll wait to see if Herr Doktor has more to add before moving on.
The Herr Doktor Professor clicks his heels as he stands at attention, then bows formally to Ian.
"It was an honor to return the brave to the battlefield," he says.
Then, bowing in the direction of Grux and Glynquinal, he adds: "And an honor as well to stand in battle alongside such skilled warriors. I lack the strength and ferocity of Grux, nor do I possess the precision and derring-do of Ian and Glynquinal, but I will endeavour in my small way to assist as you three deliver the killing blow to our enemies.
"But I believe we must return to our bedrolls if we hope to survive the dangers of the road. My healing magic is spent, and I must rest to renew it."
Saying goodnight to his companions, the Herr Doktor Professor tries to get back to sleep.
(He'll take the third watch with Grux. He rolls 16 for his Perception check.)
Glynquinal rises in the morning feeling the warmth of the early morning sun on his face. The wounds from the wolf the day before nearly forgotten, he prepares to continue stowing his short sword and dagger back in their sheaths, and looking over his short bow and arrows. Noting that Ian lost one arrow during the attack from breaking he moves over closer and pulls one from his quiver. To Ian he says, "I see you had one break when you hit a wolf. You could take this one to stock up if you wanted to. We can always pick up some more later if we need to."
Carefully checking to make sure the Potion of healing is still in a pocket on his backpack, Glynquinal readies his traveling pack for getting on the road.
Glynuinal calls out to Herr Doktor Professor. "A very good morning to you. may the day's travel be swift and uneventful. I enjoy your talents, but would much prefer that enjoyment to be over a cold ale and a warm fire instead of a pack of wolves."
To Gruxx Glynquinal offers, "That glaive sure seemed to do a nice job on those wolves. Do you think there is enough fur left intact on them we could skin them? There might be some meat on them we could take along"

Ian will gather all the waterskins, and go fill them from the water source Glynquenal found earlier. While he is out there, he will see if he can find some food - berries, plants, etc. He will have the waterskins over one shoulder, and ready an action by placing an arrow in his bow, and stealthily making his way to the water and back. If he sees an animal that would make good food, he will loose his arrow, and hopefully hit his mark.
Survival: 9

If he sees an animal:
Shortbow: 16
Damage: 7
If he was stealthy, and got surprise, Sneak Attack Damage: 1
Ian returns to the campsite with full waterskins; a pocket full of wild strawberries; and a small, skewered fox.
OOC: The fox, you will need to take time to skin and prepare, which one of you could do on the wagon as you travel (later in the day so it isn't sitting exposed all day). That, with the berries, will cover your ration for the day. Though, this, the third day, you anticipate arriving in Phandalin tonight. Just because you arrive doesn't mean you have to sleep and eat in town (if you wanted to save money). However, you could take the time now to prepare breakfast.
Ian enjoys fresh catch, so he will take time now to skin the animal, and cut it in slices and smoke it, not straight up cook it, over the fire so it will last longer.
After a breakfast of fox jerky and Berries, Ian will help load up the wagons, and sit on the front seat waiting for everyone else. Last nights combat has him slightly on edge, and he wants to be up front with Gruxx during the rest of the drive, keeping a lookout. (probably roll a perception when we set out on the trail...)
Glynquinal will cook some of the mushrooms he gathered the day before, and eat some of the rations he started with for breakfast. When everyone is ready to go Glynquinal will take up a walking position on the left side of the cart to keep an eye out for any complications from that side.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gruxx will use any leaves/grass that he can find on the ground to clean the gore from his glaive. "Ya'll fought well! I got kinda worried there for a minute but was a good fight all in all."
Gruxx will stand up with his glaive on his shoulder. "I wanna make sure we don't have any more surprises waitin' to pounce."
Gruxx will walk a perimeter around the camp to search for tracks or signs of anyone following the group besides the wolf pack.

Glynquinal will jog along lightly next to the cart. He's already pretty athletic and agile, but wants to continue improving himself. While jogging along the left side of the cart he will make an effort to keep an eye out for trouble.
For any clarification, since Glynquenal is on the left side of the cart jogging along, Ian is sitting on the right side of Gruxx so both sides are observed.
Not very long after getting back on the High Road, the team comes to the intersection with the Triboar Trail. They turn left and head east away from the coastline. The High Road is a wide thoroughfare. It's well traveled and maintained. The Triboar Trail, by comparison, is narrower, and the sides of the road are more densely wooded. After a couple hours on the Trail, Ian and Glynquinal spot something in the road. As the cart gets closer, Ian tells Gruxx to stop the cart. There are two horses — dead from the looks of it — lying in the road. The cart stops about 60 feet west of the horses.

The Herr Doktor Professor nestles comfortably in the back of the cart, among the crates and barrels. Unlike his more robust colleagues, he has little love for the hardships of the open road. He prefers to conserve his energies for when his particular skill set will be more useful to the party. Half-dozing, he will be daydreaming about the comforts of civilization awaiting in Phandalin when the warnings of Ian and Glynquinal jolt him to full awareness.
He stands up and takes a look around. (Perception check:21)
Glynquinal says to Ian, "What to you think is going on with that? Looks like a road block to me."
OOC How hard would it be to skirt the dead horses, and drive the cart around them? Is there enough space on either side?
Since he's on the ground already ad not on the cart Glynquinal decides to slide forward and keeping a close ear and eye out for anything odd more closely inspect what appears to be two dead horses. To Ian, "Better be ready with your bow if this goes wrong."
Ian says to glynquenal IVe got the overwatch. And to Gruxx Can you get me a little closer? (Looking to get about 30 feet away) and Ian will ready an arrow in his bow for the first sign of danger.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As he moves closer to the horses Glynquinal draws his short sword and dagger from their sheaths. Looking over the area in front of him carefully, he inspects both sides of the road looking and listening for movement from anyone setting in ambush.

As far as Gruxx is concerned, there are no signs of danger around the camp.
