Kiven scowls with minor frustration as the persistent captain won't accept his fate.

Daishain, is this correct for the crit.... triple the bow damage and double the spell damage? (minus damage already rolled, of course)

At the latest slash to his hard exterior, Blau laughs and dances around the angered Captain, dark wisps of power once again healing him and restoring his health. "Come now, Captain courageous! Do tell us all about our doom and gloom, how Mitra will condemn us, etc. etc. I need to take notes!" The short Oread's illusion wavering as his movements accellerate. His fists smash out again and again, attempting to penetrate the warrior's defenses in a more personal way.

The captain wavers as yet another ice ridden arrow pierces his shield arm, causing the limb to hang uselessly at his side. Eya's bolt still flies off to the side.

The captain has lost his coordination, but is still determined to cut Blau down. He raises his sword to strike, determination burning in his eyes, but then the warpriest strikes him, hard, straight into the throat. Captain Mott goes down, still obviously fighting for the strength for at least one last blow. But his strength fails him, and the man goes limp on the floor.

"Has everyone accomplished their desired verbal boasts and proclamations of dark religious zealotry?  If so, please do assist our young orphan thief over here with this substantial obstruction."  "Surely your stoney elemental here would be suitable to the task" he adds to Eya, referencing Blau.

Looking at Selena casually he nods and says "and perhaps we will still have use of her," implying that someone might aid the dhampir.

Kiven takes a moment to look straight up and study the ramparts above.

Kicking the downed man once more for punctuation, Blau turns to the downed Dhamphir and begins to bind her wounds to prevent the substance of her half-life from escaping. "Did one of you mention a wand of healing? She needs it, and we need her on her feet for the rest of the battle."

 Healing skill use - 21

Kiven ignores Blau and walks over to the Captain.  He slowly kneels and studies the sword for a few moments without touching it, trying to discern the properties of the magic he can see there.

Eya walks over to Selena and squats down near her as she pulls out a wand. She places the tip of the wand over her heart and mutters a word in infernal. Suddenly, a dark, shadowy glow pulses once over the dhampir's body as her blood begins to boil and her wounds start to magically mend.

While she monitor's Selena's healing, she asks Kiven, "Anything useful on captain cuckold over there? He's got to have something we can use." 

To the wider group she asks, "Is anyone else injured and in need of healing? We don't have much time. Let's hurry and get this gate open and door unbarred, then head up to the second level to see if we can get sight on those siege weapons."

Blau nods at that "Yes, I've been scratched a couple of times. While I have a bit of my Lord's favor remaining, I'd rather save it for fighting our foes. Tap me with that wand and I'll go and see what help I can be for our door-opener" 

After getting affected by the healing spell, Blau goes over to Respar and adds his strength (17) to the efforts. If the Ring would be useful, he'll apply that as well. (STR 25 to 29 as an impact force).

Eya will use the healing wand on Blau as well as herself to be sure that they are all ready for the next part. 

Still kneeling over Captain Mott, Kiven replies "the sword is certainly enchanted, otherwise nothing that emits any aura".  "You can check them for coin, if you like."

Kiven grabs a cloak off of one of the guards or a sack from Eya and wraps the sword up for further inspection later, trying not to touch it.

  Selena regains consciousness from pain radiating through her body.  She stands shakily to her feet and gathers her weapon and shield.  " Thank you Eya. I underestimated their skill.  I won't make the same mistake twice. " 

  She hears Poe in her mind.  " Welcome back Mistress. I trust that all is well. " She grins and responds, " It was rough for a bit but I am ok.  " She strides through the fallen soldiers and searches for signs of life among them.  She will slit the throat of any still living.  

A little more work, and the portcullis is up and set. Anyone could send it crashing back down with a kick, but for now at least its not going anywhere.

Other than the outer gate, which Poe reports that the horde has nearly broken through, the only thing remaining in Sakkarot's way is the inner gate itself, which is barred with a thick timber.

Blau stomps forward to the inner gate, ready to apply his strength to the effort of removing the beam and moving it to block the portcullis. "Let's get this done and open the way. Righteous battle to correct the imbalance awaits!"

 Grabbing the beam at one end, Blau attempts to leverage it out of it's restraints. 

Kiven watches as Blau gets ready to do the heavy lifting.  He looks at the width of the door bar and up at the height of the ceiling, then pulls out his magical rod of ropes.  He says aloud but quietly and mostly to himself "one could simply...ah well, father did say the little people need to discover their own purpose..." and puts his rod away.

"Do be sure to impede the portcullis with that, my petrified confederate!"

Eya goes to help Respar and Blau with the beam. "Do we need to do anything else to jam the portcullis?" Eya asks.

With a sharp-edged grin, Blau says "We could always prop up the bodies against the beam and have them help a bit in as they rot away. Now, what are we going to do about those siege weapons on top there?"

"Lower the portcullis onto the beam and then disable it, removing a component only we will possess in the event that it must be lifted once more."

"Make haste, Eya 's new toy will suffice for that task."

(no idea if such a component exists and can be removed and put back easily)

Respar is glad for the help from the others.  "Well done on keeping the enemy at bay.  Now, let's open the gate, and use the bar to hold the stone slab in place for now."

After the gate and bar are taken care of, Eya says, "Let's quickly search the bodies for any valuables or keys that could help and move to the watchtower to try and take out the siege weapons."
