After the guards drop, Eya squats down and quickly scans the interior of failsafe mechanism then motions to Respar and says, "See these gears here? If you can remove or jam those two, then we can easily disable this mechanism. It will require some dexterous hands to pull off but if you focus on those gears it will be easier. Meanwhile, the rest of us can go and see if we can brace that section of the wall in case something goes wrong."
She tells the hound to hide and stick to the shadows until they are ready to move further up into the keep. Eya will go with the others to see if we can find any way to brace that section of the wall.

Looking to the main gate, there is just one object immediately apparent that seems likely to do the trick. The thick beam that serves to bar the main gates. Removing it from its position and tilting it upright should serve to prevent the wall section from above from falling down.
Somewhere else, a bell starts tolling, and shouts go up from the walls. Poe reports that the bugbear army has been spotted. They are currently rushing the outer gatehouse, with a massive battering ram being carried by a troop of ogres. The remaining troops are closing in, and seem to be focusing on trying to harrass the archers and ballista crews with arrow fire, but their efforts are limited by relative cover and elevation

By now, you can hear people rushing down the tower stairs, and a voice calls out, "Someone's messing with the gate!" A deeper voice responds, "On me! For Mitra!!"
Around the corner come rushing six heavily armed guards, along with none other than Captain Franz Mott. Upon seeing you, they lock shields and lower spears in your direction, advancing in a double row of three, with the seventh man in back drawing a bow.
At about the same time, you can hear the clamoring over in the barracks change, it sounds like the Mites have been engaged as well.
Blau grins tightly in anticipation of the sounds of his fists on metal, and breifly moves around, touching each of his allies on their arms and infusing a measure of Asmodeus' blessing on all of them. "This shall prove most entertaining."

Eya nods to Kiven, then calls out to the hound in Infernal, "Burn them all! Kill their fool of a captain first." The hound snarls, then begins to charge straight towards the captain. At the same time, Eya glares with indignant eyes at the captain and points her wand towards him. "Narr," she shouts in a serious tone. Shortly after, a small red bead launches from the tip of the wand and into the pack of guards. Suddenly, the bead erupts into an incredible explosion of flame, engulfing all of the guards and the rushing hound. Then, emerging unscathed from the flames as they lick it's black fur, the hound lunges for the captain's throat.
Hound is immune to Fire so I thought this would be a cool scene. What's the DC on the Fireball Dai so I can write it down? Also, Eya will use her 30 ft. of movement to get as far away from the guards as possible. Her AC is at 18 now with the buff from Blau, 16 without.
Respar thanks Blau with a nod to the stony monk. He lets the others use their magics at range before moving to engage the guards.
OOC: Regardless of the Initiative roll I am about to make, Respar will allow his team mates to go first, then he will evaluate the situation before deciding to move forward or hold back a moment or two.

She strikes at him supernaturally quickly and then gestures at the 3 of them claiming them.

Kiven grins at Captain Mott and draws back his bow, drawing upon arcane energy to enchant it for the fight to come. Once again arcane arrows erupt rapidly from the magic bow, the last wreathed in frost, all aimed at the Captain.

Kiven sends multiple arrows in the Captain's direction. He easily deflects two of them with his shield, but the third manages to snake through and bury itself in the flesh of his arm. The man does not act, a stoic picture of determination.
The men move in unison as Eya flings the fireball their way, it is clear that these men are much better trained than the usual lantern carriers you've been facing. The guards set their shields together as the fireball washes over them. They're singed when it dissipates, but they're still moving well enough for the front rank to skewer Eya's hellhound as it charges in, the creature's snarls changing to whimpers before it dissipates.
Selena slips by as the front rank are still pulling their spears back, striking out at one of them, scoring two harsh wounds. The man gasps with pain, but manages to stand his ground while Captain Mott repays the favor by scoring a strike of his own on the Dhampir.
A whistle from the captain and all six men step backwards in unison, and then the front rank strikes forward again, two of them managing to sink their speartips into Selena. The archer accompanies this maneuver with an arrow directed at Eya, it scores along her hip, though the wound is not much more than a scratch.
At about this time, you can hear a great crashing at the gate. It sounds like the battering ram has started its work.
Behold the rarely used power of teamwork feats. They all passed their reflex saves because one of them did. Well, except the archer, he passed all on his lonesome.
Okay, slightly complicated here. Front rank had braced their longspears against a charge, which with that sort of weapon allows for double damage on any AOOs against charging creatures. Two hit, one missed dealing a total of 32 damage, killing the hellhound before it reached them. Second rank struck normally at Selena. Two missed, but the Captain hit her for 8 damage. The whole group took 5' steps backwards (not technically all at once, I just expressed it that way for dramatic effect), and then the front rank all attacked Selena, two hitting for another 12 damage. If her current hp total on the sheet is accurate, the temporary hp from starving vampire just saved her from going down. P.S. You should have had 4 temp hp, not 2, starving vamp gives twice the number of hit dice in temp hp on a kill.
No, none of them have had a chance to set their spears again, so double damage is not an issue for the immediate moment, though charging through can still incur normal AOOs.
Eya was hit for a mere 3 damage. The archer almost got a crit and then rolled poorly after that.

Eya grits her teeth and growls as she is struck by the arrow. "Seems like these men aren't useless pissants like the rest. We need to get this gate up, now!" she snarls. Then, she launches another Fireball at the men.
Aiming it such that Selena isn't fried if possible. Moving further back with her movement if possible. She doesn't want to be anywhere near those spears if she can.
"Well, that was profoundly underwhelming" remarks Kiven about the first fireball from their newly acquired wand. Watching Selena get skewered Kiven also asks Eya "do you suppose she drinks her own blood?" "It appears she is making a copious offering in the name of Asmodeus. How inspiring!"
"Perhaps this will hinder their advance." Kiven mutters a word in Elvish and a cloud of golden dust envelops the advancing soldiers. "If not perhaps the mineral man can expeditiously convert them. What do you say, Igneous?"
Selena cries out in surprise and pain. She struggles to keep her feet for a moment then she redoubles her assault. Calling upon her special abilities she lashes out at the guard she hurt previously. Her rapier has a slight gleam to it as it arcs towards her target.
OOC: She uses headstone breaking strike which gives her temp hitpoints equal to the damage inflicted.
Tilting his granite-faced head at Kiven's comment, Blau grins tightly and rumbles "I'll make sure to deliver a profound message of Asmodeus' glory, at the end of my fists! I'm sure one of them will see the Truth!"
He moves forward after the two spells are launched, closing the distance as he calls upon his Deity's awesome powers for another divine enhancement to all his allies.
Move up 10' closer to the enemy and cast Bless (+1 attack rolls and saves for 4 minutes) on the party.

The men locked their shields against the fireball once more, but this time the one that Selena had wounded, had fallen to his knees by the time that the flames perished.
Kiven producing a large quantity of blinding dust had a rather profound effect on the men, three of them, including both of the two remaining on the front row, are shaking their heads and trying to clear their eyes. Selena follows this up by causing a deep wound on one of them.
One of the men in the rear stabs the Dhampir, and then steps up to fill the fallen man's place while the captain hauls the fallen soldier back behind the line. The blinded men try to attack her as well, but fail to predict where she'd be. Mott calls to the archer, "Private, take him and get reinforcements!" The man does as he's bid, dragging his barely conscious comrade back towards the tower.
Another 7 damage to Selena, which fortunately for her is absorbed by the temp HP.
