As she looks at the routes ahead Marion see's little but she does pick up the smell of rot. She turns to the others as they discuss which route to take and says "I can smell the stench of decay ahead, from the direction of the houses. I will open my senses to see if there are any undead close by."
With that Marion uses her Divine Sense ability to reach out into the nearby area.
The houses seem to be in various states of decay and disrepair. While no house is free of it, some do seem to have better weathered whatever decaying effect has been gradually destroying the buildings. The buildings on the corners seem to be in the worse repair, their walls literally buckling from internal rot, and you can make out long green stains of mold cutting through the plaster like long fingers.
Magnus:
Pushing up on the left side of the road, you peek around the corner, using your natural height get a broad perspective of the narrow road. What you make out surprises you. A cart stands in the middle of the street, currently unguarded - and filled with bodies. You do not have a nose, nor a sense of smell per se, but even you are able to clearly distinguish a pervading air of rot coming from the cart. A tarp has been draped over most of the bodies, but the shapes are unmistakable, and you can even make out a few odd limbs sticking out at odd angles. You hear a slight commotion, footsteps and grunts, coming from an alleyway on the right of the road, next to the cart.
Marion:
As you reach out to Mystra, you get a familiar response. Your hair stands on end as magic flows through you, different in kind than what you remember your brothers flinging so indiscriminately so many years before. It feels controlled, purposeful. Right.
Your sense suddenly become immensely heightened, and something seems about to overwhelm you like a wall. From within the buildings in front of you, the sense of undead presence seems like a tidal wave about to crash. It is not centered in any one spot, though you make out three distinct undead traces on the right path of the road, around the corner. It seems that the rot within the buildings themselves is undead in nature, and thus is causing your sense to be activated. Unfortunately, due to the mass presence, you are not able to detect individual traces, or numbers. Only a general sense that yes, that place is certainly infested.
(I know this isn't how divine sense works as written, but I think it makes more sense this way. I like to give more information rather than less where possible, from experience.)
After a few moments of study, the sense of magic fades, and your vision clears. You are still perfectly able to point out what you saw, but the distinct feeling of divine magic flowing through you has passed, leaving only a mild sense of wistful familiarity in the fading, reaching out to you in an almost tempting way.
As Marion lets Mystra's power flow through her to extend her senses she lets out a gasp as the supernatural sensory information flows into her and her eyes turn a cloudy blue colour. As the flow almost overwhelms her she drops to one knee, placing her shield into the ground and leaning on it while she tries to relax and process what she can now "see". As the power of Mystra fades and her vision returns to normal she lets out a brief whisper and a wistful smile crosses her face as she feels the presence of her deity fade: "Thank you my Lady..."
As Magnus lets the group know of movement to the left she stands up and draws her longsword in her left hand while adding to what he has said: "I feel an overwhelming sense of undead ahead in the buildings before us but I cannot see through the thick haze to know anything specific or what we might face there. I can however feel the presence of three undead beings on the road to our right."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ghengis scans the area, his finely honed warrior senses instantly alerted by his companions' odd behavior. Nocking an arrow to his longbow he prepares to let it fly at the first enemy to present itself.
(Haven't called for initiative just yet, but I will consider you all prepared and alert, so you are not likely to be surprised except by the stealthiest of foes. Now you must choose!)
(Edited as it seems Ghengis was the first to act! :D)
Marion
Glancing over her shoulder to see her companions likewise prepared for whatever comes their way Marion is about to move to the left, deciding that if something or someone already approaches from the left then they would best be served to face them head on. As she does so suddenly Ghengis barrels forward towards the buildings and tries to burst in.
Caught off guard for a split second Marion immediately shakes herself out of it and follows her companion, shield raised in case any danger presents itself from the newly "opened" door.
As Ghengis kicks in the door, it sags with a slightly unsatisfying wet *crunch. Within, a small puff of dust and splinters accompanies the impact, but, despite the door now hanging open, there are no signs of movement from within. You wait a moment, then another, without change. It seems that whatever lies inside is undisturbed by your actions, or is waiting for you to enter.
As the first few moments pass without anything happening Marion then cautiously edges her way through the door way keeping her shield raised, sword ready and looking out for any immediate dangers.

Magnus pushes down the left side street, advancing to the cart. Carefully, he flips the tarp back with the tip of his halberd, exposing the bodies to what little sunlight is available.

Magnus M-019: Warforged Juggernaut Fighter, Level 1
The arrow flies into the gloom, impacting something you cannot see. As Marion steps in, she is met with a macabre sight. Four corpses, seated around a dinner table, lie limply in their chairs. As you enter the room, the corpse at the head of the table turns it's head and makes eye contact with you. It's jaw hangs open, and a slight groan escapes it, but it does not try to move towards you or make any other threatening signs.
Devon notices a second story window a few feet above and to the right of the door. A tricky bit of climbing, unaided by a rope, but perhaps a workable entrance with some finesse.
Bristen notices rather suddenly that their contracted warforged companion has left them, and sees his shadow disappearing around the left corner. With a deft twist of his weapon, the tarp reveals almost 20 corpses in the wagon.
The shuffling Magnus noticed from earlier stops abruptly. " 'Ho's there?" calls out a voice from the alley beside the cart, as of yet revealing no one.
Perception 16 do any of the houses look more recently abandoned?
Magnus is going to push up to the left hand corner and check the side streets.

I've got bodies. Magnus rumbles as he readies his halberd.
He cocks his head to the side as if to listen better.
