"Iris and Valeera. I do not know what Gaelin and I would do without you. They are right friend. A good night's sleep is probably worth it." Jinara says realizing just how tired he is physically and emotionally from the day.
(@Mucor- I feel like there was a bounty or reward for finding Daisy somewhere when we had down time? I'll go back through and check posts later to double check.)
Gaelin nods and smiles. "They're right but I feel like were on the edge of something big. Before you go, let me reach out to Aryn and see how things are going. Almost forgot about them in all the excitement."
"Hey just checking in. We made some interesting discoveries in the library. I'll fill y'all in when you return. Have fun... Love you." Gaelin says in his Sending message.
(OOC: Her father DEFINITALLY said that he wanted us to help find his daughter.. but I didn't remember there being any wanted posters around or anything like that)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(When would Aryn get Gaelin's message? Are Mucor and I still around midday?)
Aryn looks at Mucor then at Quentin, "Gabriel said he had to return to the front. He was an interesting character... full of passion or fury, not really sure which. I don't know about the other. Yera? I only met Gabriel and Mucor when they rescued my brother and I. He was still a minotaur then but just as cute as he is now." she says with a smile and pinches Mucor's cheek trying to detract from the other topic.
Insight on Quentin: (is he sincere in his affections for Daisy?) 10
Mucor would blush bright red. "I have not heard from Yera for quite some time... We made it to the front lines and did quite a bit of good. She was alive and well the last time i saw her.. but... distracted. I am not sure where she is not but I hope that she found whatever she was looking for..." He would say before pausing a moment. "You would have been a great help, someone with your skills... Why did you leave? I don't see why the two of you couldn't have been together without running out and leaving us all wondering where you had gone... leaving her father wondering if he would ever see his daughter again" The elf would say as he tries to remain serious while attempting to hide a small smile in response to Aryn's comment.
(@Aryn- It's a bit past noon now that you've gotten your food. You'd receive Gaelin's message about sunset.)
Aryn- While you can tell there is genuine affection for Daisy in Quentin's speech, there is also a sense of self preservation. You wouldn't be surprised if he'd leave Daisy if the option of his escape was still open.
Quentin's head cocks slightly to one side as he tries to comprehend what Aryn just said. He shakes his head and focuses on keeping up appearances. "Ha that definitely sounds like Gabriel. Well good for you lot. Must've been hard at the front. I've heard stories of the battles down south... Lucky for all of us the Lightbringers took care of everything else and made our lives a bit easier right?" he pauses looking between both of your faces and takes a sip of his drink. "I wanted to go... believe me I did... but Daisy didn't want me to. She said the front was too dangerous. When given the option of a beautiful woman or going the front line of a war, which would you choose? Not to mention her father never would've approved of me despite what he said. I could tell from the look on his smug face." he says finishing his drink. "So... where you staying? Unless you're satisfied and leaving us in peace, we need to get out of here and go somewhere more private if we want to continue this conversation. Too many prying eyes and nosy ears."
"We haven't picked a place to stay yet. Any recommendations?" Aryn asks.
If Quentin gives a recommendation she'll respond with "Lead the way." and follow him. She is constantly watching his hands and keeping a good 5-6 foot gap from him whenever possible.
"Yes... The light bringers have done a lot of good things" Mucor would say before nod dingalong in agreement with Aryn. He would seemingly be much less concerned about what Quentin might try however. The elf would position himself somewhat between Quentin and Aryn in such a way that Aryn had a clean view of what Quentin was doing at all times but so that he could also move between the two of them if he did become hostile.
Aryn & Mucor-"Why, the White Wolf inn is the place to stay." Quentin says and stands to his feet. "My pleasure." he adds walking towards the door. "Daisy, I'll see you when you get off. I'm going to show my friends here a nice place to stay." he says then walks out the double doors into the cold wintery patio. "It's a bit of a walk, you wouldn't happen to be the owner of them horses would you?" he asks pointing to your horses. Pleased by your confirmation that those are your horses you quickly make your way to a tall wood and stone structure that has a large white wooden banner above the door. The bright red lettering reads "White Wolf Inn." and each end of the banner is carved into the shape of a howling wolf's head.
You enter what appears to be a surprisingly well kept inn. A small eating area with a few patrons sits to the right while a long bar and doorway to the kitchen are on the left. A tall wide stairway leads up to the second and third floor that you assume are filled with rooms. "Welcome to the White Wolf Inn." a high pitched voice says from behind the bar. A second later a plump dwarven woman pops up from behind the bar. "Oh hello Quentin, who are your friends? How can I be of service to ye? " Quentin steps forward and says, "Friends from the south just traveling through. If at all possible a room for the lovely lady and gentlemen." "How many nights?" the dwarf asks looking at Aryn and Mucor with a smile.
Gaelin & Jinara- Iris and Valeera breathe a sigh of relief and a sense of calm comes over the group as you await to hear from Aryn. (If they survive muahahahaha...just kidding)
"One night will be good" Mucor would say in agreement to Aryn. assuming they get the room, Mucor would motion Quentin to follow him and Aryn to the room so that they could talk in private.
Aryn & Mucor- "That'll be 8 silver." the dwarf says with a smile and bows as you hand over the coin. "Thank you miss. Here's the key. First door on your left on the third floor. If you need anything just ask for Doris." You walk up the series of steps to the third floor and find the corresponding room. You unlock the door and enter to find a simple but well kept room with a small dresser and table with two chairs. Quentin makes himself at home and sits at one of the chairs. "So, what do you want to know?"
"Come Iris. Let's return to the tower. Night you two. See you in the morning." Jinara says. On the walk back to the tower, Jinara asks Iris "Do you know anything about the Shadowfell? Do we have any books on the subject? I fear we may be detouring there soon."
Mucor would shut the door behind him after Quentin and Aryn enter the room. "Well how about why you almost attacked us back there. So what have you two been doing this whole time? What are you doing every day while she is working? Have you let her at least write a letter to her father to let him know she is OK? Have YOU tried to write him a letter explaining how much you care for her?" The elf would ask in rapid succession...pacing now as more questions floods his mind. "Are you EVER going to try to fix things with her father? Are you planning on being on the run forever? What about kids? Are you going to drag them through this if you are lucky enough to have any? You can't just throw them away in a swamp and leave town if the the law or bounty hunters end up finding where you are! He would nearly shout before getting very quest for a quiet.. looking away from quentin towards the floor. "You have made a lot of poor choices Quentin... You mentioned the light bringers. Do you think her father would approve of his daughter Daisy marrying someone like that.. Like a light bringer?? Someone that would be willing to make the sacrifices needed to save countless lives?"
Aryn looks at Mucor with an expression of being admiration and curiosity. She thinks of speaking but decides she will let Mucor drive the conversation and to aid by glaring at Quentin.
"Calm down Mucor. I'm wanted and didn't recognize you. Daisy and I have been traveling north as far and fast as we could. We figured here was the safest place thanks to the mountains." He puffs up his chest a little at the accusation of being a freeloader and stands to his feet. "I have my ways of taking care of Daisy. You may not agree with my methods but they have kept her well fed and provided both of us a place to stay. She works only to keep up appearances. She is free to write to whoever she wants but I have done nothing to contact her father. Sending a message could trace back to me and I don't plan on spending the rest of my days in prison." he says defensively. "No, I'm done with the south. I don't know about children... if it happens it happens. Why would we leave them in a swamp? No, we'd take care of them..." Despite his still hooded appearance you can see the color drain from his face at the mention of bounty hunters. "So there are still bounties up for us? Damn..." he says falling back into the chair. "Lightbringers, ha! Of course he'd approve of one of them. Bunch of do good'rs like yourself. That ain't me."
"It could have been you. If can still BE you" Mucor would reply frustratedly. "If I am going to help you, you need to tell me everything... Daisy is a grown woman and she can be with however she wants. Her running off to be with you isn't a crime. Kidnapping is a crime. So if her father knows that the two of you are happy and that she wasn't kidnapped... there is no reason the two of you cannot live a normal life." The elf... snorting somewhat loudly... would say as he takes a moment to calm down. "Now if you have been running around and breaking other laws than I need to know about it so I can help you fix it. "Mucor would add... the elf rubbing the bridge of his nose.
(OOC: Does Mucor know that he is a wanted criminal or anything like that?)

Perception: 25 or Investigation: 19 on the room to see if there are any trapped or hidden doors within.
Insight: 27 on Quentin. Does he actually make any money to help provide?
