Bearicina, with that roll it seems you are stronger-than-the-average-bear. With the gate firmly under your shoulders you stand up on your rear legs and let out a beastly grunt as you hold the gate up just high enough for somebody to slip underneath.
Bala, you easily slip under the portcullis. As you step foot into the chamber, the chanting immediately stops and the room is now eerily silent. You make your way to the winch and hoist the gate up so the whole party can join you. You all now wade into the 2-foot tall water that fills the large forty-foot-square chamber. The smooth masonry walls provide excellent acoustics. Featureless stone pillars support the ceiling, and a breach in the west wall leads to a dark cave heaped with refuse; the hole in the west wall leads to a naturally formed alcove. . Murky water covers most of the floor. Stairs lead up to dry stone ledges that hug the walls, 5 feet above the floor. In the middle of the room, more stairs rise to form an octagonal dais that also rises above the water. Rusty chains with shackles dangle from the ceiling directly above a stone altar mounted on the dais. The altar is carved with hideous depictions of grasping ghouls and is stained with dry blood.
Bearicina will move into the room once she no longer has to be the one holding up the gate, sniffing around the room as she in the strange sights of the ghouls carved into the strange altar. Since she is not sure what will happen for the time being she will stay in her bear form.
"Well this is... gruesome." Adira will stick close to the group, ready for a fight to break out. Her stomach churns; yesterday was rough and she hopes they have the strength to make it through whatever challenge lies in front of them.

Bearicina, you trudge through the water and onto the central stone dais. As you look over the carvings on the altar, the ghostly chants fills the room. The voices, in perfect unison, repeat a new mantra, "One must die... One must die..." Quietly at first but growing into a cacophonous roar that drowns out all other sound.
Thirteen dark, incorporeal figures blink into existance, one after another, filling the space on the high platforms on either side of the ritual chamber. Each one takes the form of a dark robed human carrying a torch with a black flame that seems to suck light into itself. Their visages are blank, the space under their hoods is filled with a dark void, black as pitch.
"Oooooookay. Mind being a bit specific? As far as I know the Durst family, save for one, is accounted for." Bala doesn't lift his hand crossbow to any of the figures, fearing the worst if he did.
Bearicina does not seem to thrilled and lets out a growl and begins to rise higher as if to make herself seem bigger then the strange figures. Shendoes not attack but does want to appear intimidating.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"This is getting real old...hold on, " if the decor was anything to go by, Bala quickly figured that these guys had nothing to say to them. So, to try and get with the theme, Bala holds up a dagger to his neck.
Intelligence check to figure if these guys want us to hurt and or kill ourselves.
Bala and Aka, neither of you illicit a response from the figures. Aka, their uniformity, lack of distinguishing features or reactions leads you to believe that these are little more than echoes - imprints of souls that have long since departed. They don't seem sentient in their own right.
Both of you make Insight checks.

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
(Nope but I wish it was a nat 20 so she could have just ripped it off from the wall.)

Bala will take that opportunity to crawl under the gate and head straight for the switch.
Dexterity(if needed): 15

"Nice digs, " Bala readies a bolt in his hand crossbow. "Hello, monster? We're here to kill you. What happened to the chanting?"
Bleh, ugh.... we’re here to get you, stupid thing! Prepare to die! Aka repeatedly coughs up water after going underwater swimming.

Who must die? You? I’d love it if you died.

"One must die, one must die,"
Bala, the figures do not respond to your question,
"One must die, one must die,"
Bearicina, the figures do not react at all to your attempts to intimidate them,
"One must die, one must die..."
The wildshaped duid roars lightly in annoyance, still not apprapching them after their earlier encounter with the strength sapping spectres.

Seriously? Who? You? Me? The bear? Bala? Aka looks at the creatures, trying to remember what they are.
