"Nilparin, Nephrius, you have been quiet. Do you have any thoughts on how we should proceed?" Harukai addresses the others. After listening, he excuses himself and goes to pray/meditate at the shrine across the way.

"Thank you for your generosity, Linene! And we appreciate your help thus far, Sildar."
Jackson will toss a gold piece out of the 345 to Linene for such fair service, then split the remaining 344 among himself, Harukai, Neph and Nil (to make things easier -- everyone gets an even 86gp. Harukai -- should you need that .25 for your transaction, Jackson is more than willing to cover that cost).
"Let us head to the inn and rest. Perhaps there we can learn more about this castle we need to find."
OOC: 86 gp each is just fine. I adjusted the math.
When the others are done inside and come out to head to the inn, Harukai will join them on their way. He is keeping a wary eye out for those Redbrand goons while he is out there praying/meditating, however...
On the way back to the inn Neph will go with Harukai but only as a passing and continue onto the inn, she will leave a gold piece on the shrine as she walks by.
OOC. neph will buy the shortsword for 10 gold, she wont try to haggle.
In the center of town stands a large, newly built roadhouse of fieldstone and rough-hewn timbers. The common room is filled with locals nursing mugs of ale or cider, all of them eyeing you with curiosity. Behind the bar is Toblen Stonehill, the owner of the inn. He recognizes Sildar and gives a friendly nod to him and your group.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Harukai will come into the inn with the group and let the charismatic ones do the talking. As much as he has spoken with the party members, Harukai seems a bit uncomfortable with the large crowd. For his part, he will partake in water and simple but nourishing hot food, as it is available.
While still keeping an eye out for those Redbrand goons, Harukai listens intently to the conversations, especially as they might indicate something about Gundren's whereabouts or people who may have suffered from the thievery of the bandits. Wary of betrayal given his background, Harukai watches especially for people who look like they may be spying on the party or otherwise up to no good.
"Let us gather what we can from the townsfolk, then retire to our quarters," Jackson says to the group, giving them a nod. He then walks up to the bar. "Well met, barkeep. My friends and I have been through quite the ordeal and are in need of lodging. I believe we have a mutual friend in Sildar, here?"
Meals are included with lodging, which Sildar has already taken care of. In listening to the conversations going on around you, your hear several mentions of the redbrands and how the townsfolk are tiring of their activities. You overhear about the woodcarver who attempted to stand up to the group, but he and his family has since disappeared. There are also rumors of orcs on the eastern end of the triboar trail, which could potentially cause trouble for Phandalin. The townmaster is apparently offering a reward for to anyone who removes them from the area.
"Hello friend, name's Toblen. Sildar told me of how your group rescued him earlier today. He has arranged for your lodgings and food for the next week. Drinks are extra, but I will treat you right. If you need anything, let me know and I will do my best to accommodate."
"We appreciate your hospitality, Toblen. Speaking of accommodations -- we were looking for a bit of information. A friend of ours, Gundren Rockseeker, was recently abducted by a group known as the Cragmaw and taken to their castle hideout. Would you or any others you know happen to have any information on where this castle hideout could be?"
“I have heard rumors of goblins in the mountains haggling the merchants who travel the roads, but I have not heard of them attacked armed individuals such as Sildar and yourselves. They are becoming brazen if they put themselves to that much risk. A farmer named Qelline says her son saw goblins associating with some redbrand hooligans. The redbrand like to bully nearly everyone in town and we very much like to keep our eyes out for them. The boy likes to snoop around and I really hope he doesn’t get himself hurt in the process.”
"So these Redbrand may have something to do with this? A most disturbing development. Thank you, Toblen. I will pester you no longer, and will personally see to this farmer's son after I rest. Could you please show me to my quarters?"
"Brother Greystone," Harukai interjects as Jackson is preparing to head upstairs, "Perhaps we can coordinate with this 'townmaster' to get official (legal) clearance to go after these Redbrand goons." Turning to Sildar, he says, "Sildar, do you know who the townmaster is?"

The current elected townmaster is Harbin Wester, a banker from Neverwinter. I must warn you that you will get no help with the redbrands from him. I am not sure if they are paying him off or he is just weak kneed, but he refuses to deal with their activities. He is currently offering a bounty for eliminating an orc problem to the east. We could take that contract in an attempt to win his trust or deal with these ruffians ourselves. I heard whispers from some townsfolk that Iarno went missing near the manor on the hill a few months ago right around the time this redbrand business began. The Lord’s Alliance wants law and order in Phandalin and dealing with these ruffians will need to be done sooner or later. We need to find that castle to rescue Gundren as soon as possible as well.”
Harukai listens intently to Sildar's response, then prepares to head to bed himself. Tomorrow is looking like another big day!
"Okay, so rest now, check in with the townmaster and the farmer's son in the morning, then maybe check out the woodcutter's residence too since he seems to have disappeared." Harukai makes mental notes to himself as he stifles a yawn. "Time to rest. Hopefully Gundren hangs in there until we can track him down..."
The group has completed a long rest. You awake to the smell of fresh food and sunlight just starting over the sword mountains to the east. You head downstairs and have breakfast. After breakfast you meet the farmer Qelline and her son Carp.

Phandalin’s only temple is a small shrine made of stones taken from the nearby ruins. It is dedicated to Tymora, goddess of luck and good fortune.
Linene says “Thank you for your purchase, please come back as I sometimes receive new items from Neverwinter or Waterdeep.”
