"Hey McFuddy((even though we never actually introduced ourselves I'm going to assume that we have as we walked and joined as a party... names at the least))... so... did you see anything from up there?" Liet will say to McFuddy after he lands. "I think I caught sight and smell of a camp fire off that direction before the wolves attacked" he adds, pointing towards where he noticed the fire earlier.
Ruhkis addresses the Ranger, "Hey, McFuddy, these wolves normally found to be this aggressive in these parts?"
((Ruhkis would like to see if there is anything unique about the wolves, make sure there aren't any distinct markings on them and otherwise look for clues that would indicate the beasts are anything other than a random pack of wolves.))

The investigation reveals nothing. They seem like a pack of normal wolves to Ruhkis.
"The question is how and when..." Liet begins. "It's still rather dark, but should be getting a bit light soon. If we wait till then it might be easier for me to approach more quietly." he continues. Then looking to the group "Or we could all go together...?"
"As far as the wolves acting differently i can tell you that..." History check 12 survival check 22
It's not uncommon for wolves to attack lone travelers at night if there is not other food source. However, it isn't winter proper yet, and they should still have food. Plus you are a group of six. So it is pretty unusual. They don't seem ill though.
Nalla looks up at Mcfuddy's beautiful colors, thinking about what he saw. She then inches to Ruhkis, going down on one knee to speak softly so only he can hear her thoughts. "Not many of us can see at night, so it may be beneficial to wait until morning, but if we wait too long then whoever has lit that fire may be gone before we arrive." She looks to him, well aware that she didn't make a decision.
Ruhkis nods to acknowledge Nalla's concern. "Well by my count I think I'm the only one who can see effectively in the dark - and I make a horrible scout in spite of it. Not sure it's really up for discussion unless we want to signal our whereabouts to the entire valley."
"I'm more concerned about a few wolves having the temerity to attack the six of us. They're vicious beasts but they're not stupid. Attacking us was...well, stupid. Someone or something compelled the wolves and that's got me a little more than worried."
PERCEPTION 8 to see if Liet hears the whispering. ((after roll)) he no doubt saw them whisper, but clearly didn't hear what they said.
To Theos he'll respond "Fair enough sir. While some whisper among themselves I'll head your advice. The sun should be up soon, and we can scout more easily in the early light of the dawn. At that point shall I go alone quietly? Or will we go as a group? If alone, would you again lend me your guidance?"
((Can we say it's morning and time to go scout the fire? If so.. should Liet go alone quietly? Or anyone wanna join? Or should we all just wander over not stealthy? If no one says otherwise I'll just assume Theos gives Liet guidance and he will stealth over to check))

NALLA
Nalla gives Liet a small smile, doing her best to seem apologetic, though she says nothing. She then find a large rock and promptly takes a seat, pulling out her leatherworker's kit. She reveals a medium-sized strip of leather and starts shaving off small pieces with a knife, shaping the leather into what looks to be a dagger sheath.
((cool cool. So let's get things moving~ I'm going to say we've waited till just the break of dawn, where we now have at least some dim light to walk by, meaning Liet can put out his Flame))
Before heading off Liet will send a telepathic message up to McFuddy saying "I'm going to head towards the smoke. If you see anything unusual send a signal. Maybe just a loud bird cry or something." He'll then look back up to Theos "Thanks for the guidance... your words are helpful. I'll go see what I can and report back quickly!"
Liet will then try to quietly sneak towards where the fire/smoke was coming from to see what he can, and then go back to report.

I don't think it matters, but everyone gets a short rest.
The fire is WELL off in the distance, and has burned to embers as McFuddy can see. It's barely visible in the soft light of the morning. Now that that he can make out the distance better, it is apparent it will take the group a better part of a day to actually walk through the dense forest to get to the fire itself. It seems to be about halfway between where the party is at and the mountains in the distance. Liet COULD go alone... but... it's seriously a LONG ways away. Liet MIGHT could get there and back by the evening if he went very quickly, but he would be exhausted. I would suggest moving as a group, with Liet scouting ahead as you all moved.
((no need to reroll stealth or perception, I'll keep those numbers in mind as you get closer))

"I say we wait. I'll watch the flame from up above, and if it seems to go out, ill signal to you that we must move out."
McFuddy then flies back up, and keeps an eye on where the flame was. In fact he would move closer to it. He would stay 30 feet back and 50 feet up.

Ah ha. Knowing that then if we decide to scout it, let's just go as a group, and Liet could sneak when we get closer if we want.
Though aren't we in a hurry to get wherever we're going...?
