It was urgent enough for the Baron to tell Greshak to send someone out in the dead of night, but as far as within the party, I don't know how fast you guys want to go. Up to you.
During this wait period, I would pull out my whet stone and sharpen my 2 swords, dagger, and 20 arrows.
As light becomes more visible and i realize just how far away the fire is, AND they are just embers, I land and say "It appears as if the fire we saw is a long ways off, about half a days travel. This is not what we were hire for. Plus the "fire" seems to be just embers, so whomever set it, has most likely moved on by now. Maybe run off by the strange wolves. Lets pack up and continue on our quest."

NALLA
Nalla gives the wise bird a nod and packs up her things, getting ready to head out. She keeps her hand axes without easy reach on either hip, but the rest goes back into her pack.
See roll20 for an idea of the distance the fire was.
As the party continues to decide what to do, eventually the first shafts of morning light through the trees overtake the soft ambient glow of the morning. Once the party decides to ignore the fire, you set off again down the path toward Luthaan Anchorage. As you have all not slept most likely for 24 hours, everyone take one level of exhaustion, Nalla is on Level 2.
The forest is dense as the wide path winds by the river. The morning is quiet and still, nothing but the birds and the gurgling of the stream can be heard. There is no one else on the road, which isn't atypical. Caer Blaine is up and coming, but by no means a thriving metropolis.
As the sun peaks overhead, the party rounds a bend and can see a campsite up ahead. It is a known and establish resting place between the two towns, and many travelers stop here for the night. As you get nearer you can see a wagon and draft horse near a tent. There seems to be a couple of people in the area milling about. You are still quite a ways from it, and it appears as if they haven't noticed your presence yet.
((does 'the sun peaks overhead' mean it's near noon?))
Liet will say to the group "I'm pretty dead tired all... though we do need to keep going, and it'd be better to sleep at night, we also do need some rest. And this place looks rather safe." He'll also cast goodberry nibble on one and say "if anyone is hungry... it may look small, but it's quite satisfying." while offering a hand out to everyone else.
((I just looked at the map. We left from the city, and the first red dot is our stop with the wolves yeah? The fire is the one labeled FireI'm sure ^^ And we are now near the tent site? If we left a bit after dark, and it's now high sun, we've probably been hiking for 15ish hours? Definitely need a rest. And what's our hiking rate? 3-4mph? Meaning we've gone approx ____ miles?))
It's about 20 miles to the campsite from CB, so 15 hours or so is fine giving a comfortable pace of 1.5 mph. Plus it was at night, so you would have moved slower. Like I've said though, I'm totally not a stickler for minutia of stuff. As long as the story and narrative is good, we can wag some of it. However you cut it, you will certainly need a rest a some point in the near future.
Theos yawns and stretches his arms back. "We've been walking for a while now and I'm getting tired. That camp seems like the perfect spot for a quick nap. What do you say?"
"Good enough for me. I have darkvision so I'll take a middle watch."
((When his watch comes, Ruhkis will keep the campfire very low and move to the outskirts of its light so as to take advantage of his darkvision))
It's currently about noon. A long rest will put you guys at late evening/beginning of night. Not sure what you want to do after a rest. Rest again and wait for first light?

You would have passed the site when coming through here initially. All you remember is that it was a few medium sized tents and a campfire circle. No hardened anything.

Liet will reply "I'm really more of a listener than a talker... but I can go see what's there." ((I just noticed we have no CHA character...))
Liet will approach the campsite and see what the scene looks like, as well as what types of people are currently there. He's not being sneaky atm, but also not just charging in. Just kind of walking up and seeing what's around.
As Leit approaches he sees three individuals. One is rumaging through the back of the wagon, one is resting leaning against a log with a large hat covering his head and eyes, and a third cooking a meal on the fire.
((@all. Liet is at -1 CHA btw...he's not the most personable fellow :P ))
As he approaches the camp he'll go to the person cooking lunch and say "uh... good day sir. Your lunch looks quite good, please enjoy your meal. I've run ahead from my group to see if anyone knows anything about disturbances on the road. We've had word of some trouble up ahead. Have you heard anything by chance?"
The man jolts quite noticeably at your first words. He seemed quite absorbed in his meal while you approached.
"OH! Hello little friend!" The man says. "You caught me be surprise... indeed there is trouble up and down these roads recently, so it would be good to warn a man before your approach!"
((While he does not look nefarious, you do notice his glance flit from the man at the wagon to the man resting by the log, a little too much)).
"Please, have a bite of what we're cooking and rest by the fire. Ignore Shamus," He motions to the man resting against the log. "He's not... ugh... in as good a shape as John and I here, so he's been passed out for a good hour. Please, have a seat."
The man stands and motions for you to sit on a log laying next to him by the fire.
Liet will walk over, have a seat and say "Sorry to surprise you, I guess I often walk more quietly than I plan to. I haven't much to add to your meal... though I do have some rather tasty, and surprisingly filling berries if you'd like." while hold out a couple Goodberry that he'd cast earlier. "Is your friend injured?" he'll ask, adding "We were sent from Caer Blaine to see if we could find what's causing the problems on the road. My group is just a bit behind."
((Now this is awkward... I got sent ahead, but am now in a solo mission. The group should approach but I don't have any way to send a signal to them...They probably aren't far behind... though I'm not sure how close exactly...let's try this...))
After sitting down Liet will look up and cast druidcraft as high as he can to appear like dandelion seeds floating in the air, hoping that someone in his team will notice. It's a peaceful image, so hopefully (if noticed) they would also know that it does not signify danger.
"It's alright. But you're correct, these roads CAN be fairly dangerous as you mentioned. I would suggest making a little noise before your approach. But in any case, it's good to see someone. We had a run in with the very problem you mentioned, and barely escaped with our lives. The things, demons I guess, fought like... well... demons. Poor Shamus fended them off long enough to allow us time to run and caught up with us later. Which is why he's now resting, so once your friends get here, please try to keep quiet. Yes, the creatures were just like humans, but then they weren't. They wore clothes like men, and one even had armor, but I didn't want to mettle with them. We abandoned the other wagon and made back for this camp. I hope you haven't had any close calls with them. People are saying that the demon from the mine is back, and that the Devil's of Luthaan didn't really kill it at all."
(roll perception again Kev, and yes, I'll keep the insight)
As you watch the man speak, you notice again how his eyes dart about, from Shamus to you, then to the wagon over your shoulder that is out of view while speaking to the man. He is trying to speak calmly but there is an obvious nervous undertone with the speed and pitch of his speech. Moreover, for a man that recently had a run in with demons, he doesn't seem as worried as a normal person would be.
"Forgive my rudeness," The man extends his hand to Liet. "I'm Albert. And you are?"

The Baron and Greshak want a stop to whatever is plaguing the roads, it's more of an investigation, not necessarily a destination.
