"That all sounds very frightening! I've never had an experience with an actual demon. Though I have seen the Devils... Give your friend one of these berries. It's not much, but they do have some healing properties I've found. I'm Liet. Nice to meet you Albert." Liet will respond, reaching his hand out in return.
PERCEPTION (with disadv): 13
((how far behind did I leave the group? Did any see my signal?))
As Liet extends his hand, an arm finds its way around his neck, and pulls him to his feet. The grip on the arm choking Liet is tight, cutting off any airflow. The man in front of Liet, Albert, jumps to his feet, simultaneously pulling out a dagger that was hidden in his clothes. Albert looks Liet in the eyes.
"I don't want your life," The man snarls. "Just your mon.... just your... money..." The man's eyes roll back into his head, his eyes flutter, and he takes a knee.
"Al!" The man holding Liet calls. Deafeningly loud in his ear. "Get up!" 20 Con save against passing out.
Albert shakes his head, and when he does something odd happens before Liet's eyes. The man's entire appearance changed. Face, hair, and even his clothes are now different. What once appeared to be a normally healthy average traveling man, now appeared to be a malnourished, pale, sallow skin, sunken eyed shell of a man. The man has armor on that is two sizes too big in some places and two sizes too small in others. Blood trickles down his mouth, eyes, and ears, but just a little. His eyes, previously stern for his intent, are now wild with panic.
"I told you it was a bad idea Al! I told you!" The man screams. 17.
((The group can hear the shouting))
"We just needed..." Albert stands on shaky legs. "Just needed a little... more time."
19
((If the group sprints, we'll say they can make it to the camp in 30 seconds.))
"You all hear that?" Ruhkis grips his axe a little tighter and start pumping his legs at the sound of shouts up ahead. "Sounds like the little one sprung a trap!"
Knowing that others will be able to outpace the dwarf, Ruhkis shoos everyone else on "Get going with yer long legs! See what's what!"
((Conditional responses upon reaching the ambush site: 1) Use frostbite on any enemy that is attacking an ally, prioritized based on perceived balance of conflict, maneuver to stay out of melee and repeat as necessary; 2) If situation becomes dire for any one member, lead with frostbite and move into melee range to assist w/ the axe; 3) Ruhkis will take the chance that he can absorb a hit but will cast shield if he is hit a second time ))
Albert glances over Liet's shoulder and sees the others quickly approaching, and curses under his breath. In between gasps of air Liet notices Albert touch his forearm. A strange looking armband is wound around it, and looks as if the thing is attached directly to, and dug into, his skin. Thin rivulets of blood trickle down his arm.
Liet is violently thrown to the ground as the man holding him dashes to Albert.
"We gotta go, Al!"He cries, grabbing Albert by the shoulder. "Surely they'll take us back in! They gotta!"
"We don't have a choice I guess," Albert replies. They both turn and sprint off into the woods, one slightly slower than the other.
Liet is left in the dust of the campsite, taking deep gulps of air. [take 1 damage from the choking].
The rest of the group arrives about 20 seconds later.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
When everyone arrives, after catching his breath, Liet will explain what they told him ((see above)) about demons, as well as about the bandage on him. He'd also like to check their wagon and see if there is anything notable with it.
PERCEPTION: 10
Finally he'll add "I know it'd be nice to camp at night... but I'm quite tired and could use some rest everyone..." ((what time of day is it currently?))
((And after your OOC reminder)) Liet, before saying much to the team about what he said, will first point out the sleeping person still around to his group as they arrive. He'll then continue the actions I posted above.
((someone else should probably also help search the camp. We're all tired, so more eyes (ie rolls) would be helpful))
Ruhkis enters the camp, already puffing from the short sprint. Takes a quick glance around and sees that Liet is none the worse for wear and takes a knee to catch his breath.
"I know its early but after being on the trail all night this might be as good a spot as any to rest until tomorrow morning."
If no one objects, the dwarf will ask Nala to accompany him on scouting the perimeter - about 300' circumference out from the camp, gathering firewood as we go.
((He'll hold off on the perimeter check until after we resolve any convo w/ the third person))

I am at full speed (dash) flying in the direction of these men, as soon as I get a chance I take a few shots (150 feet if possible, and 600 feet with disadvantage if that is the best I can do.) to the best of my ability I am aiming for their legs, but wouldnt feel that bad if I hit the torso, and a hit is better than a miss.)
I would take shots until I down or stop them or until they are gone. (I wont leave eyeshot of my party.... however with flying I could probably go a long ways and still see them, and them see me.)
IF between 150 and 600 then dis. but also adv for being higher than them. 1817161018 If less than 150 adv for being higher than them 2425241511
McFuddy will need to do a perception check to try and even find them. He's flying 10-15 feet in the air, and these dudes bolted into a thick forest. You'll need to fly above the canopy to keep pace/catch up. Then still see enough of them to find them.
Combat numbers noted.
Additionally, if you want to try to land, you can attempt a survival check.

However if I do hit, and slow them down/ stop them. I would immediately dive straight toward them, put away my bow, and pull out my short swords.

You have a favored terrain type. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for proficient skills when you make an INT or WIS check related to it. While traveling for an hour or more in your chosen terrain, difficult terrain doesn’t slow your group’s travel, your group can’t become lost except by magical means, you remain alert to danger even when you are engaged in another activity, you can move stealthily at a normal pace (while alone), you find twice as much food while foraging, and while tracking creatures, you learn the exact number, sizes, and how long ago they passed through the area.
