She communicates to the others her enthusiasm for rest and respite, but also suggests that the more inquisitive and charming members in the group should see about finding out more about Cragmaw Castle and this Black Spider. She also reminds the others that they were supposed to speak to a Iarno Albrek, but Grimm would prefer getting cleaned up first. 

Nene, all small town girl, waves and greets at anyone who looks up as they pass by. After they have completed the delivery, she looks at the others and asks: "So who's up for taking a little look around before dinner? Or are we all getting some food first?" It does not seem to cross her mind that most of the party never asked her to stick around.

“I’m hungry—I’ll see what kind of rooms and food I can procure for us.” Zanigur makes his way to the local inn and strikes up a conversation with the proprietor, intent on asking for room & board for the group in exchange for a night of performance—a musical retelling of some famous epics for the villagers and other patrons.

Kara throws an arm around Grimm as if they were old friends, "Amen to that! I smell as bad as I look. I'll be giving the town a once over... but not until I've had a nice, warm bath. Ilmater bless us that such a thing might be available here."

Kara will ask around about any bathhouses. While most tiefling probably hide their horns and such as best they can in such small towns, Kara wears hers openly - and is ready for any potential social consequences.

As the oxen-driven wagon slowly rolls into the town, you all spot Barthen's Provisions almost immediately as its the first major building you come across along the main road. You spot an older human, balding and likely around some fifty years old sweeping off the main deck out front. He turns to gaze at the motley group coming in with the wagon and watches you carefully as the wagon comes to a stop in front of his store. "A dumber man might ask if he could help you all, but I gather you are the ones delivering the goods for Gundren?"

“Indeed. Do you know Gundren well, mister...Barthen, I presume?” Zanigur hops down from the cart and greets the shopkeep.

 Grimm, tired, doesn't respond to the man with but more than a grunt. She unloads the cart at the store with the help of whoever else helps, and collects the fee due to each of them.

Grimm then stalks off to the inn to procure a room and, hopefully, a place to clean up. She lets the others know where she's going and will reserve rooms for the others if they want her to. 

Nene hops off and waves a hello at the old man. "Hello mister, yes we are! Where do you want them?" She helps Grimm unload the cart and is ready to carry things to where the man points her to. Seeing Grimm tired out from fighting, Nene offers: "Here, let me help. You've all had a long day already. And any friend of Puck's is a friend of mine!"

“She’s certainly a cheery one,” Zanigur says to Puck out of the side of this mouth.

Kara grins at Nene and offers another hand. "I'm quite glad you've joined us Nene. Our band was merry to start with, but with you, it seems we have want for a brooder."

Grimm raises an eyebrow as she walks by. 

"Never mind her," Kara winks at Nene. "I'd be in a mood too if I had to cover myself in blood. Say..." she looks at everyone else. "Anyone play cards? I would like to enjoy a brief moment of levity before we start getting down to business."

Zanigur pipes up, “Deal me in! It’s been a great while since I played a hand of cards.”

Then, after realizing that neither he nor Kara owns a set of playing cards, he asks Barthen if he has a set for sale (and will gladly pay the standard 5 silvers).

Kara, offering to pay for half, grins once they sort that situation out and find themselves in whatever tavern and/or inn that has an open table. She reaches over and kindly asks for the cards from Zanigur, "May I? Ahh, there is nothing like the fresh scent of newly open cards."

Zanigur cocks his head with a half-smile, and then shrugs. “Sure, whatever suits your fancy.” 

"Thank you, sir!" Kara opens the deck and seems to delight in the scent. Soon after, she begins to shuffle. (Dex Checking 19) However, a few cards slip out of place as she tries to show off something fancy she saw a bard do once. "Oh, I totally meant to do that." She then begins to deal cards in a way to suggest Three-Dragon Ante is the name of the game. 

Nene smiles back at Kara. "I don't know how to play cards... but can I watch? Maybe I can learn!" She plonks herself down with a good view of the game and crosses her legs. The tabaxi leans forwards eagerly, trying to understand what is happening in the game. Her ears are pointed right up. "So what are you playing? And where did you learn to play cards?"

"Oh, we are playing Three-Dragon Ante," Kara explains as she finishes dealing to all interested players. "The priests used to sometimes play this game with the rogues and scoundrels in Neverwinter. They believed that fun and games helped to bring people closer. I noticed the fathers who scoffed at the game never brought in as many converts..." Kara gestures to deal Nene in, "You know, I only sort of know how to play. Ilmater and Lathander blessed me in many ways, but playing cards is not one of them!"

"Is that were you come from? Please tell me about your home, I love hearing stories about faraway places!" Nene nods to being dealt cards, happy to try playing the new game. 

"Yes, Neverwinter is my hearth. I was raised by the Ilmatari there - the clergy who follow Ilmater. Its a beautiful city with wonderful people on the northwestern coast." 

(Pause: so the spellplague. Is that canon to this game? Neverwinter was destroyed in the spellplague and is now mostly rebuilt. Regardless, Kara might not bring it up anyway.)

"Truthfully, I have more experience with the poor, the thuggish, and the faithful. Our city pulls together to try to help the poor. At least those I choose to surround myself with do... Where might you be from? You and Puck are from the same place?"
