" So This Forestmaster, can't we just ask them to go through these woods? I mean it never hurts to talk right?" He asks wondering why that wasn't an option? All before his watch. When he finally rests he puts his back on a wall sits with his Maul cradled in his arms. Just in case he would need to spring to his feet and fight.
During the hours of Algrenon and Cairn so almost at the end of the night a frightful presence washes over the group. It is fleeting but it comes back after a few minutes.
At the end of the cave the staff that Elona clutches in her sleep starts to shine, giving off a bleu light that baths the whole cave. It seems to fend off the presence and smooth your anxiety.
( I ll need a perception check from Algrenon, since Cairn already did his.)
- Brenton -
"Did anyone else feel untroubled in the early morning? I felt my sleep disturbed as if a frightful presence washed over me - did anyone on watch notice anything?"
Shan is silent, at one side of the cave entrance, sitting with her leg crossed and her spellbook open at her lap. She had her hand grabbing her own staff and looking outside, worried.
" I do not know what was it... but I am glad that it has gone. If your staff had anything to do with it, I am grareful" she says in a whisper.
As the first light shines into the cave that hides the companions, the group starts to gather their things and ready to leave.
Elona looks at the others.
" Where do we go then ? If you are still willing to help me. Should we try the haunted forest or try our luck with the Plainsmen ? "
"Haven will probably be a place where they go look for the staff. The plains might be in the exact opposite of where we are now but it will help cover out tracks and I don't think they would dare go into the Forest. "
Miss Elona, I've been wonderin' how yeh came across such an item. Is this a.. A relic of the church, or did you find it? Is hate ta assume anything, but it ain't stolen is it?
Fangor crosses his arms "I've been wondering that myself. Elina, you don't seem like a thief." He pauses, thinking about her question. " I think it maybe be best to go to the forest."

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
"Well, I would say throught the forest and then to the west trying to find the city. In that forest we could lose track of any pursuers, and after that thing we all felt tonight, I would rather have some cover over our heads that walk throuhgt the plains where we can be spotted from miles away."
At the questions Taylon waks in front of Elona
"That's very rude! She is no thief! "he turns to Elona and says " Forgive my friends.. they are tired and confused. I've been called that word too many times to have search for real thiefs to see if I was really one of them, and I can assure you, you are not one of them, no more than I am!"he taps Elora's hand to offer her reassurance " Now, let's get moving... " he says to his friends " It doesn't matter where she get it.. what's important, if I have understood it well, is to keep it away from all those goblins and bad people and take it to the temple of an old godness in a city lost in the Cataclysm... right?" he looks around him and holding a map in his left hand and raising it above his head he says " Then to the forest!! I have a map!!" and walks out the cavern.
Later, when they are finally walking he approachs Elona and says in low voice.
"You know what? I've been thinking... if you took that staff from those bad people and goblins.. you did well. It suits you more than them. I think that godness would be happy for you to have it." and without waiting for an answer he will trot away to ask Zar if he can go up among his horns to see better the way ahead.
In the morning, Regus awakes and stretches. After a moment of stretching he Casts Prestidigitation to get the dirt and mud off of his robe and boots. Using the cantrip to clean his person.
He goes about with a morning routine of sorts, Which involves a silent prayer and taking a small dagger he keeps beneath his robes and using it to pry one of the barely noticable scales from his person.
"I have to agree with my companions here, Elona how did you come by this staff? It's an odd thing for one such as yourself to carry."

"Oy, now. Not everyone pour the same question on her at once. She'll tell us in due time, I'm sure - but more importantly, she'll tell us as we're walking because we've been holed up here long enough. Time to hit our trail. Besides, given the state of things here, I can't imaging we're on the wrong side of right," Brenton states as he breaks camp.
"Elona suggested the plains, but it seems most of you would rather the forest. Wisdom of the crowd, I suppose. Let's get to it then."
"I understand that you find this all hard to believe. I assure you that I am no thief. The story I sang in the Inn was partly true. I fell in love with a half elf and my father asked him to do an impossible task. I don't know where he went but he came back to me, broken but with a staff, this staff. He was very ill and dying. Somehow he got better with the help of the staff. My people thought that it was magic, evil magic and they decided to punish him. They tried to drown him. I saved him, but I don't know how. it is all blurry. All I know is that I found myself on a beach to the South."
She looks apologetically at the group.
"I have had dreams since then, showing me a black curtain thrown over the land and a bleu light trying to pierce the darkness."
Oh, well there I go again. Im so bad at speaking, miss. I mean no offense, (now addressing Taylon) she may 'ave taken it from the bad ones. Thas not somethin' I'd want them to 'ave. Either way, she's been through a rough spot, and we would 'ave been too had she not been with us.
Regus listens to the tale threw an un-trusting gaze, He was naturally skeptical of Strangers and those yet to have proven worthy of his trust. As a man of Sound mind and cold logic he couldn't help but question the Woman.
5 years apart from his Companions had shown him that even the simplest of lies can have the direst of consequences, He had refused to acknowledge it before but The Trial he had faced had changed him and for the worse. Now he only saw the worse in people. Looking at the scale he had in the palm of his hand, Regus didn't apologize or show any kind of remorse.
"An Interesting tale Lass." He curled the scale into his fist and Using the Cantrip Firebolt, burns it to ash in his hand. "Would you mind If I examined the staff my dear?" His curiosity about this staff was at its peak, He knew magic and through his Studies at the Tower often found himself reading about a lost artifact or two.
