(Hey everyone, I am having a good time, and this match is great but there is a real issue that I am seeing here.)
(This is rough because I clearly have a bias, but I dont think Ganathor's False Life was applied legally. Everyone who plays here has to declare the spells they cast whether its in a forum post or PM. That never happened with Ganathors False Life spell. It just happened to be in full effect when we did lethal damage to him. From my perspective, no other player in these forums can do this. We dont assume warlock's cast armor of agathys before every fight. If it is not posted it didnt happen. Therefore I stand on my challenge. Ganathor should be down because he didnt cast false life.)
(A few points to consider: -Ganathor is an NPC (whatever that means) -I believe there is precedent for prep being done in a PM. Since Ganathor is run by the DM, a PM would be nonsensical, but it still translates to not having to post it publicly.)

(Well, you also shouldn't be scrolling through forum posts and making character templates so you know everyone's stats. Other players don't tell you a lot of their prep either, unless you look through spoilers meant for the DM.)
(Many players post stuff in spoilers, using the honor rule to keep their prep secret. Other players send PMs to the DM, so that they have some guarantee that their prep will be secret. Since I am the DM, it's pointless for me to PM myself. False Life carries no visible effects, so you would have no way of knowing whether or not Ganathor cast it beforehand)
(What you post in the arena is common knowledge. Its happening in public. I take no actions based in information found in spoilers unlike others. Because you are the DM its doubley important to be clear what you are casting. If I did the same thing that would be cheating no? Also magic in this game is super obvious. A slight description of a magical aura would have nullified this complaint. You have too much insight into this game and the people who play it to not have conflict of interest. I have no way of know if you cast that spell in prep or just slapped it on when you got hit hard. That is the problem here.)
(Sorry for the long post, just trying to be clear)
(He probably would have if Ganathor hadn’t been dropped in late. I see no problem with the current proceedings, especially since false life isn’t stated to have any visible effect. Also, false life has a duration of 1 hour, and so could easily be cast before he entered the arena.)

(Although I do believe that latecomers sometimes don't get any prep. If this is the case, then Ganathor would have had to cast it before. Of course, if you can cast it at will (which Ganathor can, apparently) then it would make sense that you always have it up. I'm leaning more towards Keneux's argument, unless there is evidence that Ganathor (when he was a PC) went around with False Life on all the time.)

(No, you could have done something very similar by PMing me that you cast False Life [or another spell with no visuals] as prep, and since there's no magical effect to describe I wouldn't have described it. When someone casts something like Armor of Agathys, the spell very clearly describes how it looks, but False Life gives no such description.
I actually don't have as much insight as you think. I really only check character sheets when I need to, to read a spell or feature description. Hell, I don't even know anything besides your characters' races, classes, and names most of the time. There is no point for me to metagame, since I get no reward from winning a match. My character's don't even make appearances after the match is over, as I simply pull them from other campaigns for one-time use.
As for prep for latecomers, I was never aware of any rule that explicitly said latecomers don't get prep, but even so it would not be unreasonable to have False Life up all the time, ~24 seconds of casting to maximize the d4 for 1 hour of extra life isn't a bad trade. Ganathor as a PC never had False Life at will so there's no evidence there for or against)
(Alright, I'd say DM has ruled. Let's return to the game, unless there are any more major objections.)

(If you are going to take Nara's turn. I was hoping she would try to knock Run prone with her attack. If that succeeded he wouldnt be able to reach Swigg.)
(Sure, but it's the same roll and the same modifier, so it wouldn't succeed regardless)
(Edit: And there's an argument [read, splitting hairs], to be made that shoving requires one to take the attack action and AoO are not related the the attack action)
(Great. Teammates shitting the bed is my greatest weakness. I over extended thinking we could bring Ganathor down. That was my mistake. That ruling on AOO is bs but I am tired of challenging. I'm going to focus on real life for a bit. Message me if something happens.)
(Ruling is not bs. I would have made the exact same ruling, and probably most other people would have as well. It just makes sense. Please stop complaining and then saying that you don't mean to be disruptive while being disruptive.)

Library Round 4:
Runthiel charges Swigg and flattens him with three quick attacks. As he moves away, Nara lashes out at him with her greatsword. Attack: 11 Damage: 14
Ganathor flashes his longsword towards Nara, cutting her and keeping the blade moving for added protection.
(Scarab)
(Huh. Looks like I roll crap no matter what)

(Reading it, it does require the attack action. In addition, AoO cant be made with multiple hits via Extra Attack)
