Whistle looks to Dom raising her eyebrows, "Well you certainly seem prepared for all eventualities. Since we are a party at war, I am in favour of legitimising your leadership. Are there any who would object to Dominique being raised from a de-facto leader to an officially recognised captain within our ranks?"She looks at each of the party with a serious look, her time as a soldier causing her to itch for an established hierarchy.

"I would. I do not like wasting time nor resources. If you are unable to harm an undead with arrows all your weapons would prove useless against it. I can put down any skeleton or zombie we encounter with plain arrows and my longbow. I brought my own torches and rations, and have a waterskin full already. I will admit I do not have a crowbar nor pickaxe, but rather than relying on others to supply them I'd ask if any of us have it already." Shaking the rope on my backpack I continue, "Further, we have rope, and I find it insane that you would want to carry back cursed items. We do not have the time to deal with removing the curse, we are here for a short incursion into the ruins to grab one thing before heading on against the Darkness, or do you forget what we're here for?"

Dominique shrugs "I do not but neither do we have any Intel so far on what the key item is, could be a tiny ring, could be a stone statue. And if we have any bodies of fallen or injured comrades, having a barge makes transport through the forests a lot easier. I refuse to leave any behind. Point is Pioneering poles can have many uses. But your correct to object about the leadership thing. Promotions are not for us to decide, that is something to be earned first and then given by a superior. But there is no reason to get offended, I just wish to be well prepared to limit the ods of needing a barge."
Irostine thinks about it: "I'm not against having a team leader, but like Dominique said, I'm fairly certain the higher ups will decide for us. The more prepared we are for every situation the better it will end up if it all goes belly up. I once brought 3 weeks worth of supplies over 7 kilometers in the alps to hunt a rare beast, ended up finding it dead of old age! I was ready for everything though!"
Suddenly Saryn starts laughing and holloring. Dancing around a large hole she’s dug. “GOLD!! Gold and jewels! I found treasure buried on the beach! I’m rich! RICH!” Sure enough at the bottom of the hole is a small chest. The top seemingly broken apart and filled with coins and jewels.
Pazumin stares blankly for a minute. "Ah, you have some ability to find lost items. We'll have to stick you at the front so you can lead us to the item we seek in the ruins."

As you reach for the chest, instead of feeling solid wood, your hands pass right through it. The chest fades to a shadow of itself before blinking out of sight. At the top of the whole you hear gnomish laughter. "My mistake! It must have been a chest of fools gold!" Another round of wild laughter. After a moment the laughter dies down. Saryn looks at Igden "Het spijt me broer. Ik ben gewoon zo verveeld. Het voelt alsof we dagen hebben gewacht."
(For those who speak Gnomish)
"I'm sorry brother. I'm just so bored. I feel like we've been waiting for days."

Soon enough the supplies are packed and the squad rolls out. In the sky above the sound of seaguls cheers them on as they move passed beyond the treeline. As the beach gets hidden behind the bushes and shrubs, the squawking dies of and is replaced by different sounds. The air is still salty to the nose, but other scents begin to mingle in. "Magistrate, are we to climb the mountain or stick to the valley? You have a map to the place you we seek? "

"Nice job Saryn, !! Look what we found!!" Igden attempts to join in your discovery.

"When you hear a loud explosion or screams, it will mean we found a trap. You'll know that they way has been cleared, to a point."
Saryn
Saryn is now squatting at the edge of the hole watching Igden expectantly to see if he is going to bring the trunk up.
After much effort and cursing and many helpful suggestions from Saryn, Igden brings the chest up on to the surface.

(FYI Saryn had used Minor Illusion)
Igden is nearly inconsolable. Only several gulps from his flask can ease his pain. "We're never getting off of this beach"

(come on that deserves an A at least)
(damn that was a good one ahahaha)
Irostine chuckles and facepalms while shaking his head.
I was paying respects to this campaign. Your joke was a solid 8/10.

"I would rather take the mountains personally, I was raised and trained on them!"
