Scupper, you attempt to intimidate the guards, though it's really more of a deception to change the subject with the intimidation thrown in as flavour. Dekhan's assist gives the Redbrands an alternative topic of conversation, one you hope will be less violent. Unfortunately, Vaz's words didn't really do much to help this time - if anything they made the Redbrands more inclined to beat the crap out of him.
Either Scupper or Dekhan can make a role at advantage. For Dekhan, it would be a Deception check, and for Scupper you can choose either Deception or Intimidation, as you prefer.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
At the Sleeping Giant:
Varinth, the Redbrand named Vit grabs you, pulls you to your feet, then almost throws you over to the floor where Scupper is standing; you take 0 fall damage from the force of the impact. He growls at Scupper Keep your pet on its leash. The other Redbrands laugh at this, and Vit seems satisfied he's made his point, and sits down, turning his attention to Zoria. I reckon she looks like Jer's type, right Jer? They seem to be more interested in talking to teach other about Zoria than in a direct confrontation for the moment.
A very good time for a natural 20, yes!
Edit: Lucky damage roll too. I gave Varinth a -1 on the damage for being drunk!
Some time passes, with the Redbrands happily accepting the free drinks they are being offered. They are all now drunk to the point where they would struggle in a fight against you, while only Varinth is drunk on your side. One of the Redbrands who hasn't spoken before says: Need... get back... sleep. He shakily starts to raise, and the others groan, but Vit nods. C'mon. The group slowly starts to rise. They have been ignoring the rest of you for a few minutes, and seem to have made up their minds to leave now.
This is the final part of the skill challenge. If you want to persuade the Redbrands to stay, then please describe how you do so. As before, I need three contributions, and they should support or build upon each other, not be separate independent efforts. It would help me if you could explain what you do in character, but then also give me a bit of either internal monologue or OOC comment to make the intent clear. It's up to you whether you want to try persuasion, intimidation, deception, performance, or something else, but please don't roll in your descriptions - I'll let you know at the end who rolls and for what.
As always, it's up to you if you want to abandon the skill challenge and either fight them or just let them leave.
Scupper still feels like he can play on their ego or belittling it.
"So that's feckin' it then eh? Pay up Grista. I know farmers what can drink better than this lot. You lads need ye beauty sleep already? Maybe there were some other men she said were gonna drink me under the table. Sure don't seem te be you lads! Haha! Alright well nighty night boys. Make sure yer ma gives ye a kiss g'night."
Strix faux-staggers to the bar, stumbling bent-kneed towards the floor but catching the bar-top with one hand and overhead-slamming his tankard down with the other. Hauling himself up he sways slightly, waving the Redbrands off and declares "Lasht.....man.....schtanding! King...of... grog...King..of..gutter... King.... Phandel...Phanvelle... Jusht King! Fill, fill, Fill kings cup!" He goes to nonchalantly lean an elbow on the bar, misses and barely catches the bar again. "Schommon... moved... bar...."
Just trying to give the Redbrands someone who looks like they're 2 sips from unconsciousness, an easy win in case inclines them to rise to Scupper's goading. Strix has not - to my knowledge - drunk anything at this point. Not sure if that's Deception or Performance but it's immaterial, as the roll is the same for Strix. Neither is a strong suit!
It occurs to me that maybe what we should be doing is ordering a final round of highly flammable shots to see off the "guardsmen", then throwing them at the RedBrands while Vaz burns them :D That or Zoria needs to break out the Fan Dance, but I didn't think this was going to be that kind of game!
Incantisnods to Dario. "I think it's time to switch positions*," he whispers under his breath, "you sneak up to the door, and I'll back you up with my magick. We may have little time." the half-elf creeps to the edge of the pool and waits for the elf to open the door.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Incantis, half-elf warlock (great old one) 4/bard 1 ● Thorok Earthhand, hill dwarf mountain druid 6/grave cleric 2
Cragmyre Ironseed, earth genasi ancestral barbarian 3 ● Cyrus Natriallae, aquatic half-elf warlock of the deep 3
Dario nods at Incantis and move around the half-elf and heads to the door along the west wall. He gets to the door puts his ear to it to see if he can hear anything on the other side. If he doesn't hear anything he'll look at Incantis, give him a nod, and then tries to open the door.
Zoria saunters over to the Redbrands in plain view and curtsies. "It seems your stares and words have not gone unnoticed. My friends here are very much in the partying mood. Though they've had a significant head start it would seem!" She raises her tankard. "Let's drink to new friends and getting to know one another." she says with a wink.
Surely You’re tougher than this! Don’t let this pirate win, show him that us landlubbers can out drink his scurvy ass. Once more onto the bar! Dishonor not your mothers! Attest that the men that you call fathers did beget you, and show these pirates how to drink! With this Dekhan will make a show of draining his tankard and slamming it down on the bar. Persuasion 6
Dekhan, the Redbrands mostly just stare at you in bafflement. Wha?
Thanks everyone. This seems to me to be mostly a persuasion attempt, though there's deception at the heart of it. Strix is the one who spoke most effectively, given the Redbrands' current level of drunkenness, so I'll ask Strix to make the roll, either Persuasion or Deception, at advantage because the others did a good job of focusing the Redbrands on the key point (drinking more!).
Dario, you hear nothing at the door, so you slowly swing it open. It's not locked, and the hinges have been well oiled and make little sound as the door opens. Inside, you can see two bunk beds, one clearly visible and the other round the corner a bit. The linen on the bunk-bed has been disturbed and you suspect someone was lying there until very recently. There are barrels stacked to the south, and they look to be in the same condition as the ones in the first room. You will need to go into the new room to know more, as you can't see everything from this angle. There's no sight nor sound of anyone currently in the room.

Dekhan laughs it off, but kicks himself internally. Quoting the classics to a bunch of drunk roughnecks? Not your smoothest move, Dek!
