If the face came off in one piece we could... disguise... our watchman?
(I'm having flashbacks to the Mitchell and Webb sketch where 2 SS officers are drinking coffee out of their Skull mugs, when one looks around at the skulls on their hats and uniforms and banners and desk staionary and asks "hold on - are we the bad guys?")

It happens in the dead of night, during Strix's third watch.
Attack: 24 Damage: 10
Attack: 22 Damage: 4
Attack: 16 Damage: 8
Attack: 15 Damage: 8
Strix, four arrows shoot from the darkness, three hitting you. You just have time to shout everyone awake when you hear the screech of goblins closing in.

Hurray! Hurray for Combat! I've got 3 f'ing HP left but at least you get to hit someone, eh? :D
WAIT A SEC! I'm level 3 now! Mr Steve! Mr Steve! Can I deflect missiles
*THWUMP*
Ouch. That was a bloody big mosquito.
Not skeeto. Skeeto bite skin, not whole shoulde-
*THWUMP*
"AAAAARGH! Skeetos with bows!"
Before he can think, a third arrow is on it's way. But he's a creature of instinct....
REACTION! 9 - Deflect Missile! <-Let me know if this is not allowed.
Edit : I have moved that into a spoiler until it's confirmed if it's allowed - looks like a surprise attack which precludes a reaction. In which case I'm back to sarcastically slow-clapping Zorias good fortune at getting to start the day with a combat. What good luck! *cough* *splutter*
<snip>...but Strix was awake and there's no requirement for him to know the attack is coming or see the attacker so I think it's ok? Let me know though, as I added all 3 hits to my sheet. I've opted to deflect the last one if it's ok.
And if it is, he just caught the motherf**ker! (deflect damage > damage inflicted)
1 ki point spent to throw it back - 13 at the nearest goblin for 5 damage
If you are allowed to deflect, I think you're attack to throw it back would have disadvantage, as he hasn't stated where they are exactly, so you may just be throwing it blind back out into the darkness.
They all attacked from Hidden, since they rolled with Advantage. If you attack from hidden it reveals your location, and while it's dark I'm pretty sure my darkvision is on par with theirs so if they can see me I can now see them.
But I'll bet it was a surprise, which might prohibit me from taking the reaction? Wait, who's side am I on??? :D

Lol maybe I'm a goblin spy!!!!!!!!!! This is where Zoria turns on the party because they offered her 5 gp to do so!!!!!!!!!!! WHA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!
But I assume the camp we made has fire, which puts us at least in dim light. Since darkvision turns darkness to dim light and dim light to normal light, they actually would have better vision in this situation. But if it was surprise you're right lol
Note to self : In future when you're on watch, set up those ******* bells you spend so much on!
Also - @jsmall - Does Incantis want to go halfsies on a Gong? If we spend our watch shifts hidden in a tree casting and maintaining Minor Illusions of a 5 foot tall sentry in front of a camouflaged gong, when the arrows hit they'll wake us all up!

That's absolutely genius.
I’m 100% behind this ingenious alarm idea. Couple that with tripwires and bells, maybe some other triggers and we’ll be sleeping like safe little babies.
Strix's initiative was higher than the goblins, but yes, you were all surprised during this round. So no action, but Strix can indeed take a reaction and is able to see several goblins. Map to follow shortly.
Sorry to be thick - So does that mean Strix caught an arrow and threw it back as per rolls in last post? Or he can react to anything that happens from now?

We don't have a map but if Scupper can see the enemy, he's going to cast Frostbite on one and the use move action to take cover and cunning action to hide.

Like vague purple lanterns in the darkness, Incantis' eyes snap open.
Initiative: 20
Incantis, half-elf warlock (great old one) 4/bard 1 ● Thorok Earthhand, hill dwarf mountain druid 6/grave cleric 2
Cragmyre Ironseed, earth genasi ancestral barbarian 3 ● Cyrus Natriallae, aquatic half-elf warlock of the deep 3
Initiative : 2
Round One:
Group A: Strix, Scupper and Incantis (in any order)
Group B: Goblins 4, 5, 6 and 7
Group C: Vaz
Group D: Goblins 1, 2 and 3
Group E: Dekhan and Zoria (in any order)
Group F: Goblins 8, 9 and 10
Group A: Strix, Scupper and Incantis were surprised until the end of their turn and unable to take actions or move, but can now take reactions.
Group B: Goblins 4, 5, 6 and 7 fire arrows as described above. Strix, Scupper and Incantis can take any valid reactions they have.
Sorry to be thick - So does that mean Strix caught an arrow and threw it back as per rolls in last post? Or he can react to anything that happens from now?
