Dekhan will hastily doff his breastplate and don the armor of one of the bandits. Perhaps subterfuge will prevent unnecessary bloodshed.he buckles on his sword belt. Perhaps it won’t.
Varinth will wear "The Gist" of what the young ones were wearing, the undershirt, any headgear. Of there are penalties so be it. Nothing that he needs to strap into. He will then have a drink and wait on a barrel.
(OOC: There are only penalties for wearing armour, so Varinth doesn't wear that. He wears the leggings and boots of one of the dead.)
You wait a half an hour, then an hour, then more. No-one enters the alley; you hear noises, an argument perhaps coming from one of the nearby buildings. The days goes on, and sunset is coming up.
Zhudala spots five figures headed in your direction, in similar nondescript armour, walking with purpose. They turn the corner and enter the alley, walking confidently towards you. Five men, all human, all with grim expressions.
One pauses at the entrance to the alley. The others come closer, their leader's eyes fixing first on Incantis, then on Varinth. Which one of you is Otter? And where's your armour, boy? he says to Varinth.
Dekhan steps forward and puffs out his chest I'm Otter, sir. He looks at Vaz as well. He caught a beating last night, sir, got a couple ribs cracked cause he wasn't wearing his armor. As punishment I told him he couldn't wear his armor today. If he lives he'll remember to wear it next time.
(OOC: No, but that's actually enough - he rolled terribly for insight.)
Thought you were all new recruits. You don't look like I expected. He points at Incantis and Varinth. They do, though. Well, fair enough. I'm Lackley. You do what I say. You kill when I say. You put a step wrong and I slit your throat and leave you for the rats. You're still on probation, whatever Amkall might have told you. The place isn't far from here. Watch for trouble and keep your heads down. Now come on.
He turns and begins to march out of the alley. The other three men follow him, and he clearly expects you three to do the same.
Dekhan looks back at Vaz and Incantis You heard the man, and if you make me look bad Lackley won’t have to kill you, I’ll send you to your gods myself. Let’s go! Dekhan follows along.
(sorry for the absense, it's been a very trying couple of days - so I guess Strix was hiding up on a roof too, idling in a short-resty way and recasting PWT on the hour to keep him and Scupper out of sight -which conveniently explains why no roll was necessary and saves me needing to edit my ki points!- and will follow along from above. Unless Scupper has a better plan)
Nah i was out for a bit too pulling a 24 hour cram for school. So we'll attempt to follow but I don't know that we'll be able to necessarily jump from roof to roof so if we have to climb down we'll do that as quickly as possible. Knowing that Incantus can communicate mentally, Scups will try to upon occasion get within 30 feet once they're on the ground. Let me know if you need stealth rolls.
Actually...does Zudalia extend the range of your telepathy? Can you speak through her?
I do need Stealth rolls from Strix and Scupper as they follow along the roofs. You definitely get the sense that you are not the first to follow these paths, as there are plenty of places where objects have been stowed, or handholds carved, to allow people to move around easily. Who is responsible for that, you do not know.
Lackley and his team are not very chatty, but they're not hostile to you either. One of them attempts to make conversation with Varinth: Hope Amkall didn't give you too much trouble about the hair. My mate got told to dye his.
They lead you through the city for about twenty minutes, until you reach the entrance to an alley that looks much like any other, and you follow them in.
((hope everything is okay, Nunberry!)) Dekhan follows Lackley into the alley, checking the roofs and any windows as he rounds the corner, he then scans the alley for hiding places or choke points perception4
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Scupper and Strix have remained unseen so far.
In the alley, Lackley calls a halt. Wait here. If someone comes asking questions, Gatter does the talking - he nods to one of the other men. New recruits keep their mouths shut. He turns and leaves back out the way you came.
Don't mind him, says the one called Gatter. He's just making sure you don't do anything stupid that means we have to kill you.
The other men relax, and seem to settle in to wait for a while.
Scupper makes a mostly futile attempt at looking for Zudalia. Scupper takes a hidden lookout and tries to see if there's bolt holes, or secret lookouts he may have missed.

Incantis grins maliciously at Dekhan's words and eyes Vaz, playing along.

Varinth will follow looking kowtowed. He then wonders how the word Kowtow came about.
Is it about towing cows? Why is there a K? I bet Soodi could tow a cow. Where is Soodie? he ponders internally.
