Incantis, as the party is leaving the area of Agatha's dwelling, you hear her voice in your mind: Take care, young starwatcher, for your star is watching you back. You and Vyerith both. I advise you not to lose this competition.
Dekhan, Oggor takes the axe. You trust us with your townsfolk? They will trust us? He shakes his head. If you can make this happen, then you are truly a great Chief. This is much to think on. Much to speak on, with the others. He thumps his fist to his chest, and walks to the rear of the group where the orcs are following.
You head back towards Conyberry and out of the Neverwinter Wood. You rest there for the night, with the orcs keeping watch, then you take the Triboar Trail west again, and turn south towards Phandalin. The journey takes takes two full days, with one additional night camping near the trail.
It happens on the second night as you are camped some way from the trail, still one day out from Phandalin. Kosst is on watch while you sleep; you hear his roar of battle that jolts you all awake. The moonlight is bright, but you don't know what the danger is or where it can be found as you fumble for your weapons and prepare to stand.
Incantis ponders the contents of his auditory visage as he proceeds silently alongside the party as they make their way back to Phandalin. Hearing Kosst's roar on the second morning, Incantis' purple eyes snap open.

You all hear the loud buzzing sound before you are able to get to your feet. They look almost like they might be birds as they approach, but then you see the featherless forms and the large bloodsucking proboscis. These are stirge, more than a dozen, headed towards the camp.
Four of the creatures swarm around Zoria, each one making a single diving attack. As she is prone, they get advantage:
Zoria, one stirge bounces off your shield and flutters back a little. The other three dive and find some exposed flesh, and hit. And stick. They remain clamped to your body as they begin to draw your blood; it's a horrible feeling, and you've taken substantial damage already.
Two stirges attack Dekhan:
Attack: 24 Damage: 4 Attack: 20 Damage: 4
Two attack Scupper:
Attack: 16 Damage: 4 Attack: 24 Damage: 5
As with Zoria, any stirge that succeeds with an attack remains attached. I believe that both attacks on Dekhan succeed, and one on Scupper, right?
(I'm assuming that both Incantis, Supper and Varinth all already have mage armor up, given Incantis' ability to cast it at will.)
Group B: Dekhan, Incantis and Zoria are up. You are all prone.
Dekhan, you slice the little creature in two. There's a jolt of pain as the blood-filled tube detaches from your neck, but you still have one more to go.
Note to self - next time buy some Citronella for the campfire!
I can't help but feel partially responsible for this since Stirges is the plural of Stryx. I shudda named him Badger... Might I suggest we all take shelter behind the tasty ogre?
"Stars below..."Seeing some of his allies surrounded by weird stirge-creatures, Incantis leaps to his feet, runing 15ft southwest. He applies his armor of shadows (mage armor) and contacts Zoria's mind, prompting a inspiringly harmonic series of mental vocalization to meander through the centaur's mind.
((Zoria now has a Bardic Inspiration die))

Sorry guys, 3 day weekend had me out of commission!
Zoria will stand from prone and give Incantis a nod of thanks as she casts word of radiance. Con save DC 13 for all creatures around me, or 4radiant damage.
(Incantis, I'm happy to assume that you cast mage armor on yourself before going to sleep every night; it would still be up, and you would have your action this turn. It's up to you.)
(Will have to wait until I can get home to manage Zoria's spell...)

Stirge CON saves:

It is the lone stirge that did not successfully attach itself to you that manages to brace and fend of the radiant blast. The other three are consumed, the holy fire seeming to burn cool as it consumes them. The probosces are left impaled through your skin - it's uncomfortable, and very strange to see, but not harmful at the moment.
Group C: Oggor, Morg and Fekar
Oggor and Morg see Zoria surrounded and rush over just in time to see the radiant blast dramatically change her situation. Nevertheless, they both attack the one remaining stirge near her:
Attack: 23 Damage: 25 Attack: 21 Damage: 9
Oggor cuts the creatures wings off with a deftly-aimed slice, and it plops down onto the ground. Morg's attack misses, and just avoids clipping Zoria. He looks apologetically at you.
Fekar, seeing the threat is more concentrated to the south now, rushes down and tries to draw the attention of the second group of stirges. He makes one attack with his axe:
Attack: 19 Damage: 9
but the flapping, fluttering creature avoids it.
Group D: Varinth, Scupper and Strix are up. (You are all still prone)

I tink I was safer on the ocean. Get these blasted blood sucking seagulls off of me!
Varinth does not get out of his bedroll. He aims one pointed finger at the flapping bloodsucker at O12.
pew! Fire bolt 8 Damage: 1
OOC: Wow. Seems I shot a highly accurate damp cloth.
Scupper, there's a sort of squelch as your blade goes through the blood-filled creature; and then a splatter of blood, mostly yours, as it bursts.
Varinth, your blast hits the stirge but only lightly singes it. The singed stirge seems to change direction slightly, headed right towards you.
Strix is up.
