Brots will look over to this hawk and whisper something to him. "Follow the wolf and when you see the wolf is ready, let out a screech for me." The Hawk will then proceed to take off and start to circle the wolf.
Tracking around the site, Synas senses blaze with activity. His sense of smell detects a number of different orcs that have been active in the area, as well as something else that he can't quite place. He follows the hillside north, barely resisting his animal instinct to chase a wild rabbit, as it bursts from a thicket and into the safety of its hole. Gently padding one foot before the other, the wolf slowly and carefully circles around the site, coming to a rest on the brow of a hill. The lone orc stands 30 feet away at the bottom of the shallow valley, while in the distance, the others are barely visible around the bend.
From his vantage point, Syna can clearly see the cave entrance at the end of the ravine. The natural cave sits nestled into the hillside, surrounded by scattered rocks and broken crates. A small campfire sends thick black smoke onto the wind towards the south west. Voices continue to echo out of the cave mouth into the open air, although the single orc below is the only visible threat in the area. High above, the tiny outline of Brots' blood hawk slowly circles high in the sky. The bird cries out, catching the attention of the orc. Shielding his eyes from the glare of the sun, the creature looks upwards trying to spot the source of the sound.
OOC: Inspiration would be for Attack, Saving or Ability Check rolls so you would be able to use it on Entangle.
As it stands, you would have advantage against the orc - so a surprise round. He hasn't spotted either you or the rest of the group yet. The hawk wouldn't get advantage.
OOC: I think we're just waiting for initiative order.
Syna, if you knock him prone, our missile attacks will be at Disadvantage. Two arrows, an Eldritch Blast and being mauled by a wolf will hopefully be enough to bring him down.

OOC: First round is a surprise round. Hills offer full cover with line of sight and count as difficult terrain if you're moving over them
If height is an issue, I’d say the hillsides are 15ft higher - the browner areas. Just for ranged attacks but I want to avoid complicating everything with aerials distance where possible.
Hawk altitude is a variable. Happy to have him set at 60ft. Unless you want to attack in which case take 40ft. Would be ideal to have a set height when you’re moving him if you can Brots. Although if you’d rather have a standard height of 40ft it’d give you enough for any movement?
OOC: Wow, we wrecked that orc. If he's still alive somehow, Beetle should be able to finish him with an Eldritch Blast.
I suggest we move up to the top of the hill next. Excellent vantage point over the cave entrance and even cover to hide behind. I can draw out the orcs with an illusion.

OOC: Brots, at the minute you can only take one action per turn so you would only be allowed to attack yourself or command you hawk to attack (as the command counts as an action). You can command it to move for free, but any other actions it takes count as you taking your own action until you're level 5 i think and get a the Extra Attack perk.
For now I'll take your weaponed attack as the hawk wouldn't have suprise this round anyway. If I've missed something about that let me know, but from what I've read so far you can't both attack in the same round atm.
Edit: Also Serak, i'm assuming you would move into range for your crossbow too? At the minute you're about 50ft away, from what I understand your crossbows max range without taking a DAdv is 30ft.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
From his position on the hilltop, Synas wolf form waits for its chance to strike.
A sudden shrill call from the sky above and Serak springs into action. He takes careful aim, pulls the trigger and with a quick mechanical thunk, sends a bolt flying.
Attack: 25 Damage: 11
Staring up into the sky at the hawk circling overhead, the orc's attention is suddenly broken as the bolt plunges into its side. To his left, a small party of humanoids charge towards him. A half elf stands, pointing a crossbow his way with a grin on his face, as another elf charges past him morningstar drawn.
On the brow of a low lying hill, a gnome appears. Its longbow, huge in its small hands, flexes, releasing an sharp wooden arrow the orcs way.
Attack: 26, (Adv here too: 25) Damage: 6.
Turning as Brots rises, the orc takes the arrow fully in its stomach, lurching backwards from the force. The impact forces him to stagger as the arrow shaft splinters through his body. He fumbles around for his greataxe, as another foe emerges.
OOC: Sorry Serak, I remember you putting that in just didn't see it on your character sheet so I'd forgotten. Ignore me lol just for positions for the next round.
Just Beetle when he gets back then, followed by Synas pre-set attack
The orc watches helplessly as a blast of energy roars through the ravine from the charging paladins sword.
Attack: 10 (+Adv this round - 18)
The blast luckily whizzes past, sparking its way through the air. Breathing a sigh of relief, the orc gathers himself, before suddenly his arm is grabbed by a set of sharp blood hungry teeth.
Attack: 16 Damage: 4
In his wolf form, Syna has taken advantage of the distraction caused by his allies and charged forward.
Orc Dexterity Saving Throw: 7 Save DC: 11
As jaws clamp down, the orc swings his arm away instinctively. The wolf spins away, digging its paws into the loose ground and stopping itself. With its teeth bared, stained with red, the wolf slowly steps forwards again.
Brots will look over to this hawk and whisper something to him. "Follow the wolf and when you see the wolf is ready, let out a screech for me." The Hawk will then proceed to take off and start to circle the wolf.

OCC.. Since a fight is coming up.. Can I use my inspiration when casting Entangle? What effect would it have on their saves?
Also, advantage on the distracted Orc?

OOC: I posted earlier that I strung my Goblin shortbow for the increased ranged. My shot was with the shortbow.

Beetle will close the distance as much as he can to the orc, if he can get to him he will strike with Talon....
Attack: 16 Damage: 12
if he can't quite get to him he will move as close as possible and cast Eldritch Blast
Attack: 24 Damage: 8
(hopefully i can get to him cause the ranged attack I am pretty sure will miss...lol)
