In a single fluid motion, Brots rises above the crest of the hill and releases an arrow, springing the trap. With everything crossed, the gnome watches his arrow fly, as an orc turns and spots him on the hilltop.
Attack: 9 (Dont forgot you have advantage from being hidden - 14) Damage: 5
With a last minute aim adjustment, Brots managed to save his shot. The arrow soars through the air, striking the orcs shoulder. Suddenly turning around in shock, the orc spots his attacker on the hilltop, and roars out to his comrades, "PRAUTAAA! PAR UL KODAR!"
With the orcs distracted, Syna casts his trustedd entanglement spell. With a sudden burst of green, thick tangled thorns burst from the hard ground beneath the third orcs feet (03). As the vines entrap the orcs, wrapping tightly around their legs and ankles, the beasts struggle to resist.
With the vines tangled around them, two orcs fail to break free from their bindings, (O2 and O3). With his spell working but failing to capture the third orc, Syna retreats slightly, taking position on a nearby hilltop, safely away from any potential charge.
Above the cave mouth, Serak and Zyltris spring into action. Seeing the orcs struggle beneath them, Serak yells to Zyltris to spring the rockfall, "NOW!". Notching an arrow of his own he fires at the free standing orc.
Attack: 15 Damage: 6
The arrow pierces, through the orcs hide armour and into the beasts chest, sending deep grooves rippling though the leather stitching. The beast roars in pain, revealing a set of sharp teeth and broken tusk.
At the same time Zyltris pulls at the crowbar with all of his strength, the rocky outcrop of the Tor straining against the pressure.
Zyltris Strength (Athletics) check: 20 (Advantage here too: 11)
Finally the rocks give way, tumbling downwards into the cave mouth below with a deafening crash.
The rocks smash into the orcs below with deadly effect. Smaller rocks from the top of the tor, bounce furthest, striking the lead orc in the head as it roars. Heavier boulders fall directly downwards, crushing the other two, unable to escape from the vines. Nobody dare move as the dust settles. A few loose handfuls of soil and pebbles roll away from the hillside with a satisfying rattle as the echo of the rockfall fades away.
A moment later, the three orcs burst through the fallen debris. Covered in a mixture of blood and dust, they are clearly enraged.
With its greataxe drawn, the lead orc shakes itself free of the rockfall and charges towards the party on the crest of the hill. Clambering its way up the hillside, it charges towards Brots and swings its huge blade.
Orc 1 Attack Roll: 9
Ducking quickly, Brots manages to avoid the orcs swing as it stumbles towards him. Its huge body appearing clumsy compared to the gnome, not helped by the certain head injuries that the beast has sustained.
The second orc completely surrounded by broken rocks and tangled by vines, attempts to shake itself free. Grabbing at a leg with both hands it tries to pull itself out of the mess.
Orc 2 Strength Check: 23 Spell Save DC: 13
With a quick heave the orc frees itself easily. The rock fall crushing the tangle of vines beneath. With its own greataxe in hand, the beast charges uphill as well, taking the southern flank. Aggression coursing through its veins, the orc powers through the pain, flanking Beetle and taking a position between the paladin and Serak.
Inspired by the easy escape of its counterpart, the third orc prepares itself to leave the cave mouth. Relying purely on leg strength, the orc attempts to jump free in a single motion.
Orc 3 Strength Check: 17 Spell Save DC: 13
Freeing itself as well, the orc follows his brethren away from the cave mouth. It takes a position north of the cave in the clearing and draws a set of javelins from a quiver on its back.
From inside the cave, the sound of charging naked footsteps echo through the narrow tunnel. Reinforcements make their way outside to defend their stronghold. Through the mess of vines and broken rocks, a fourth orc clambers through into the open air.
OOC: Hope I didn't miss anything there, that turned quite complicated lol
Beetle watches as the rocks fall and is quite please with the groups decision to ambush the orcs...then some break free and charge...Beetle aims for the one that moved between himself and Serak.... casts Green-Flame Blade and strikes...
Attack: 8 Damage: 6 pretty sure that misses so no splash damage to the other on Brots
OOC: Thanks Beetle, saves me uploading another map!
Green flame roars through the air as Beetle draws Talon. As the orc passes by, he swings his blade.
Attack: 8
The orcs sudden burst of speed catches the paladin off guard. Not expecting such a large beast to charge so quickly, he misjudges his blow and his sword misses its mark.
OOC: Any objections to anything here let me know. Syna I've kept you on the map to save me having to redraw a whole area, but the hilltop should give you enough terrain to at least make reaching you difficult.
Brots, you can draw or sheathe a weapon for free each turn - anything more than one requires an action. Think your dual wield feature lets you draw both blades on a turn, can’t check atm. If you stowed your bow last turn then you can attack with both blades this turn
OOC: At the end of last turn, seeing the Orc right on top of him, Brots could have drawn one dagger with his Item Interaction. He'd then draw the second dagger on this turn and be able to attack with both. Best way to do it for duel wielders.

OOC: yeah it’s not been an issue so far. It’d only be a problem if you’d done something else like take out a potion or open a door or something. Not that many doors around here
OOC: There isn't really a clear ruling in the PHB on drawing dual weapons so I'll let it slide this time. It'll only be an issue in future if theres another interaction needed on a turn.
With a flick of his wrists, Brots draws a set of dual daggers from his belt. With the orc towering above him, the gnome feels a shiver tingle its way down his spine. Conquering his fear, he jabs his blade out at the beast before him.
Brots Attack 1: 16 Damage: 5
Brots Attack 2: 18 Damage: 2
A squirt of red splashes onto the patchy grass on the hilltop as the gnome withdraws his blade. Brots takes a deep breath and opens his eyes as the orc collapses in a heap before him - deep gashes cut along either side of its torso.
A short distance away, Syna levels his staff towards the lurking orc at the foot of the cave. Uttering a spell aloud he calls out for winters fury, a glimmer of ice swirls through the air, carried north on the wind.
Orc 3 Constitution Save: 18 Spell Save DC: 13
Urging the spell onwards, Synas jaw clenches tightly. As the shivering wind sails slowly towards the orc, it meets the steadily rising warm air of the crackling campfire. Swirling around the orc, the cold fades away to nothing leaving the beast unaffected.
Pleased that his trap has so far gone to plan, Serak remarks to the others as he draws his rapier, "Well, that worked better than I expected. Excellent work everyone!" Blade in hand he turns effortlessly to face the orc charging towards him.
Attack: 17 Damage: 4
With a flash of steel the orc is sliced cleanly from shoulder to hip exposing a maze of innards that quickly flow out of the wound. Without a chance to react, the orc falls to the floor, gasping for air as it dies.
OOC: That takes us up to Zyltris turn. Annoyingly you've dealt with the two attacking orcs! Just O3 and O4 remain for now...
Zyltris, inspired by the crushing blow the boulders dealt, will leap onto O4 and swing the Morningstar as he crashes down onto him. Attack: 12 Damage: 6
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With the hilltop cleared, Zyltris charges forward, throwing himself over the ledge onto the orc below. His morningstar gleams as it catches the sunlight. For a moment, the elf feels weightless as he flies through the air, edging closer to the beast below.
Zyltris Attack Roll: 12 (I'll give advantage here too because the orc wouldn't expect this: 9)
Orc 4 Dexterity Check: 10
Zyltris descent suddenly turns sour. Suddenly he is overcome by dread, the ground rushing towards him at a terrifying speed. Sidestepping, the orc watches as his attacker smashes into the pile of boulders beside it.
Zyltris Damage: 5
As the world spins around him, Zyltris manages to pick himself up off the ground. Battered and bruised, he blinks dust away from his eyes, shakes his head and tries to stretch a stab of pain away from his back.
With two of their allies already fallen, the orcs see an opportunity to attack. With a heave of effort, the first (O3) hurls a javellin towards the hillside. Roaring through the air, its pointed end sails towards Brots.
Orc 3 Attack Roll: 15 Damage: 8
Plunging into the gnome with a satisfying meaty thump, the javelin pierces through his leather armour. The beast roars with success as it grabs another spear from its quiver.
At the cave mouth, the most recent arrival (O4) stares bemused at the creature that has fallen from the sky. With his greataxe drawn and ready to swing, it appears as if the fallen elf is dazed, unaware of his presence. With a cruel, twisted purr, the orc swings his blade.
Orc 4 Attack Roll: 13
Tymora shines upon Zyltris for the first time, today is clearly not his day to die. Coming to just in time, he manages to duck away under the orcs swinging greataxe and rolls aside through its legs. The beasts growl becomes a frustrated roar as he spins around grasping out for the slippery elf.
Further down the cave, more footsteps are approaching. Though out of site for now, Zyltris hears them charging at full speed his way. One set clearly heavier than the others, taking long pounding strides in the dark.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Beetle sees javelins flying around and notices the orc they are coming from....as he closes the distance on O3 he asks Tyr to grant him strength and then swings with Talon...
Seeing Brots take a huge javelin hit, Beetle springs into action. Briefly touching the symbol of the Maimed God swinging from his neck, he charges over the hilltop. Tearing away from the ruined tor, he hears Seraks spell and sees Brots suddenly rejuvinated as the gnome pulls the javelin from his side.
Brots Healed HP: 5
The steep hillside almost causes the paladin to lose his footing. Bounding down towards the orc, Beetle holds his longsword aloft as an ungodly fury takes over him.
Attack: 22 Damage: 12
Talon sings out as its steel cleaves the awestruck orc into two evenly sized pieces. A splash of dark red lands across the stone filled grass of the valley. Beetle scans the area for his next target, as the body of the beast falls apart.

Assuming Zyltris passed with a 20, Serak will use Cutting Words on any Orc that falls their Dex Save vs. Rocks by 3 or less.
