As the cinders die down in the mouth of the empty cave, the party slink back into the darkness of the woods. Taking the lead a few feet ahead, Serak constantly keeps his eyes peeled for signs of goblin activity. The forest is dark, the going slow. Weary legs grow heavy as the moonlight begins to fade in the early morning light. Despite the search, a goblin trail does not appear.
Up ahead in the distance, the unmistakable orange glow of firelight breaks through the trees. Signalling you’re the others, Serak skips ahead silently desperate to get a better look. Ahead, a single goblin sits beside a dying fire. Eyes closed the little creature stands propped against its spear, fast asleep. Not too far away, a wide crater, seemingly leading to some sort of tunnel underground.
Serak: Closing his fist, Serak signals to the party that danger lies ahead. He gestures that he'll scout ahead before slipping into the brush. He cautiously circles the cave mouth, methodically searching the perimeter for traps or hidden guards.

Leaving the others behind, Serak fixes his eyes firmly on the sleeping goblin and begins circling the perimeter. The crater appears to slope sharply downwards, more like a tunnel than a cave, away from the parties position - too steep for the bard to see inside without getting closer. A slight grumble echoes off the walls inside, but offers no clue of its source.
Not for the first time, Serak notices an absence of traps or surprises around the goblin hideout. His mind wanders, formulating a plan as he begins to make his way back. A broken branch snaps loudly under a poorly placed foot. The sleeping goblin doesn’t stir. Chastising himself beneath his breath, Serak hurriedly returns to the others. Through the trees, the first beams of morning sunlight cast long shadows through the forest.

Serak: Returning to the party, Serak describes what he has seen in a quiet whisper. Finally, he says, "I believe I can dispatch the sleeping sentry unnoticed. Be prepared to assist if things go sideways, my friends."
Producing a small crow feather from the pouch on his belt, the Bard waves it in the air and says quietly, "Agilios!" Rapier in one hand and Dagger in the other, he slips silently back into the foliage, approaching the sleeping goblin from the rear.
OOC: Haha nice try! Took a while finding time to draw this one up. Serak you'll be beside the campfire. The others are just off map beyond the southern treeline.
With a wet pop, Seraks blade finds its mark. Thick black blood spurts from the goblins neck and with a lifeless gasp he falls to the floor. The bard crouches low over the body, sticking it once more with a dagger for good measure before glancing back towards the others.
OOC: Just realized I can't duel wield with my Rapier. Too used to playing my other character with the Dual Wielder Feat. Luckily the Rapier Attack was enough.

Beetle, loving his new ability to see through any darkness watches Serak dispatch the goblin scout and waits for a signal from him to move up towards the cave.

Serak: Serak waves the party forward as he unceremoniously wipes goblin blood from his Rapier. Waiting couched near the campfire, the Bard absently strokes his goatee, contemplating how best to tackle this next cave. As the group joins him, he says quietly, "I heard an ominous grumbling from underground. Could be anything down there." A flashback of the Ogre races through Serak's mind.
Gesturing toward the cave mouth, he continues, "So... how to go about this? I could use an Illusion to draw out any near the entrance? Arkhan and Beetle - you both could take cover behind the nearest crates, while Syna and I take cover behind the furthest ones. If nothing emerges we'll have to root them out."
Serak has a quick look in the crates as the party discusses their strategy.
A thorough search of the crates reveals an assortment of fresh supplies - mostly apples. At a best guess Serak concludes that these barrels and boxes can only be a few days old, likely stolen from a trader transporting his goods along the Triboar trail.
"I think that is a sound plan Serak." Beetle replies... "If it doesn't work then we can maybe try smoking them out again or moving in slowly to surprise them."
Serak: As everyone takes their positions, Serak quickly hides the body of the goblin inside one of the crates. He takes his place beside Syna, picks a bit of fleece from his vest and casts Minor Illusion. The sound of a Goblin screeching and howling in pain suddenly originates from the mouth of the cave.
He says to Syna, "Get ready to hit the entrance with those lovely vines of yours and I'll light them up."

In the midst of the agonizing goblin shrieks, a clear, booming voice erupts from within the cave - seemingly half conscious but full of authority. "Grruhhhh..... DEEK! STO ES SPET!"
Beetle:
"DEEK! GO SEE WHAT THAT IS!"
A single goblin emerges from the darkness, still half asleep, clutching a scimitar in its shaking hand.
Goblin Investigation Check: 12 Spell Save DC: 14
Overwhelmed by the terrible noise, the goblin quickly disappears, screaming into the cave as it retreats, "AKHAN! AKHAN!" In an instant, the cave comes to live with the sounds of clattering steel, followed by the booming voice once again, "DUUN ARRR!"
Beetle:
"ATTACK! ATTACK!"
"TO ARMS!"
Five goblins appear from the mouth of the cave, blades drawn searching intently for the source of the commotion.
Initiative Rolls (Assuming you guys plan to attack:)

OOC: No worries Arkhan. Worth waiting for as always!
A crackle of electricity forks between the dragonborns golden fingers. With a sudden thrust forward, Arkhan releases his spell, sending it roaring through the goblin hoard.
The boom of energy shakes the walls of the tunnel mouth as it roars inside, throwing the rear two goblins tumbling. One of the pair collides heavily with the cave wall, falling to the floor with a deep head wound. The remaining goblins stand firm, strengthened by there tight knit formation. A booming voice echoes from deep inside, "DhUuGAR!"
Beetle:
"FORWARD!"
Prodded from hiding by Seraks pointed elbow, Syna summons the power of the forest around him. Taking aim at the host of goblins before him, the druid raises his arms, heaving long pointed vines from beneath their feet.
As vines grasping tightly amongst them, two of the goblins manage to keep their footing. Seraks words, clearly heard over the sound of struggling, call out from behind the crates. "Akular vi shirak hakon!"
A blast of blue light suddenly appears in the cave mouth. The goblins, suddenly shining brightly, stare at each other in confusion. Their mood quickly reverts to anger, and with blades held before them, follow their commands.
OOC: Beetle, you'll be next. There's a couple of different statuses floating about with these goblins. G4 is inside the cave .
If we have to pass the castle I would say wide berth
OOC: Wide berth sounds good.
