In a glorious instant, Beetle feels a godly rush of power flow through him. His blade becomes light and more deadly than before as he swings at his foe. The struggling archer can only watch as the paladin cuts him into two equally portioned vertical slices. Another goblin downed.
Feeling empowered by Tyrs response, Beetle dances effortlessly through the vines, it's thorns can only scratch weakly at his armored body. His next target in reach, this battle is almost at an end.
OOC: Onto round 3 then. Wasn't expecting those last few attacks to be so decisive! Beetle, have to say your idea for these maps was pretty spot on. It's alot easier to keep track of everything now.
OOC: Either way, if you hadn't said it wouldn't be here. I'd just got used to having an idea of where everyone was that I'd forgot about you guys needing to keep track of everything else as well, plus the fact that I'm not always clear enough on what's going on/if somethings dead or whatever! Now that I've got the template made its dead easy to update it. Cheers
Syna leaps out from the cover of the crate and charges at the goblin attacking Zyltris. He shifts his staff to his weaker hand and draws his scimitar. He leaps over a nearby bench and thrusts his blade towards the beast. The riled up goblin growls, turns sharply and dodges the blow.
Wielding his own Scimitar, the goblin slices at Syna as he passes.
Goblin attack roll: 5
But the druid moves too quickly and the blade sighs as it passes through thin air.
Meanwhile the three entangled goblins, continue to struggle with the plants, rooting them in position.
The two goblins on the eastern most side of the chamber, still try and wriggle themselves free. One tying himself in knots with frustration, the other hacking aimlessly downwards with his scimitar. With a roar, the southernmost goblin, rips a handful of vines away and frees himself. He escapes the vines and looking around the chamber notices Serak, awkwardly balanced on one knee. With scimitar in hand the goblin charges at the bard slashing madly.
Goblin attack roll: 13
Goblin advantage attack roll: 20
As he charges, the goblin catches on a trailing vine. Stumbling and missing his target .
OOC: Not that’s it matters with the results, just want to check it’s an advantaged roll? Serak is off balance when attacked
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Serak: Landing off balance, Serak is surprised to see the leader's body sliding down the embankment, "I guess sometimes things can be easy. You're right Beetle, I could've stuck the landing better."
Drawing his rapier as he stands, Serak enters melee with the scimitar wielding goblin. He dodges the goblin's attack and counters with a strike of his own.
Attack:18
Damage: 10
OOC: Closest rule I could find was attacking a prone character giving melee advantage and ranged disadvantage. Ultimately it is up to you what gives advantage in unique situations. I'd say it made sense here if I just jumped more than 10 feet and barely avoided taking damage. Instead enemies get advantage while I stretch my knees. lol
Rising fully to his feet, Serak locks eyes with the attacking goblin. A scimitar blade misses him by a wide margin as the goblin stumbles past. Turning quickly he slices his scimitar after his fellow combatant, but misjudges the turn. The blade swings hard but frustratingly misses the target.
OOC: Thought as much, thanks. The landing wasn't bad, but wouldn't result in a complete failed landing. Any of the rules i found are either up or down in terms of standing. Advantage this time is probably fair, suppose it depends on the circumstances. You've had a fair bit of fortune so far too! Gutted you've killed the leader off in effectively one hit! :P
Actually, looks like the goblin shouldn’t have attacked at all as the strength check would have been his action for that turn! Know now for next time
To be fair I also didn’t realise the archers could attack while entangled so I guess it’s balances out! Shoulda read up on the spell more!
Neither Zyltris or his goblin foe have bested one another as their duel continues. Blade and Morningstar missing their targets, blow after blow being dodged. Both sides begin to tire.
Zyltris switches his weapon to his weaker hand and calls up a lightning storm in his dominant hand. The elf strikes his outstretched palm at the goblin, sparks flying out from his fingertips. On contact the goblin pauses, jumps slightly but is completely unaffected. He slaps the arm away with his own and begins an attack with his scimitar.
Beetle looks at the 2 goblins before him... he realizes the bow goblin posses a bigger threat to the group. Long sword rises up into the air and comes foward...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Beetle you have advantage on the roll the goblin as he is restrained by the vines. I'll roll an additional dice for you: 21
Beetles long sword slides effortlessly through the air connecting with the goblin as it struggles in the tangled vines. A splash of red fills the air, Beetles sword emerges from the goblin stained with blood. The blade has sliced cleanly through the monsters armour, badly wounding its shoulder. Still alive but helpless to resist, the goblin screams out in anger, bright red liquid gushing through leather.

The goblin prepares to attack with his dominant arm as Zyltris is pushed away. In the middle of taking an angry backhanded swipe at the half elf his movement is literally cut short. The scimitar clangs to the floor into a pool of flesh blood, closely followed by a stumped arm. Syna stands before him, his own scimitar covered in flesh goblin blood. The goblin gasps in shock, already losing so much blood, and falls to the floor in a heap.
In the western end of the chamber, Beetle finds himself with two entangled goblins at his mercy. One carrying a scimitar, tries to fend off the paladin, swinging its old and slightly rusted blade towards him.
Goblin 2 attack roll: 9
The attack comes exasperatingly close, barely missing Beetles chain armour as the goblin struggles to reach him. His eyes meet the fixed gaze of Beetle and a sense of dread washes over him.
The archer goblin beside him continues to struggle to escape his thorned prison. Scraping his bow viciously at the plants ensnaring his ankles.
Goblin 4 strength roll: 8 Synas spell save DC: 13
The vine finally slices open and the goblin barely escapes from Beetles godlike attacks. The archer goblin makes a run for the top of the stoned staircase, trying to get a better vantage point from which to fire his trusted bow. Clambering through the densest part of the vine patch, he reaches the top of the steps and heads east towards the prisoner, falling just short of safety before notching an arrow.
Below him, a fellow goblin engages with Serak. Both scimitars flailing around aimlessly.
Goblin 3 attack roll: 23
The goblin continues to send attacks Seraks way, but the bard is too agile to strike cleanly. Frustration is evident on the goblins angry little face as his blows begin to swing harder, faster and more recklessly with each passing second.
Seraks thrust is well timed and decisive. As the goblin darts around him, a rapier bursts through his exposed back. The bard retracts his blade quickly, the goblin finally standing motionless falls to his knees in a cry of agony as his life quickly fades away.
OOC: Should have thought about that. I was too relieved that he’d got away. Beetle if you want to roll for the opportunity attack too I’ll amend the above as appropriate!
Edit: Actually, goblins have disengage as a bonus action. So I should have disengaged first, negating Beetles opportunity attack. So we’ll keep it as it is
