"Dr Arbataveu, I doubt the priest would be able to answer any of your questions. He will tell you what the guides revealed to him. He will know nothing beyond that I'm afraid."
Wakanga answers.
"As for how to report the success of the quest to Syndra? I am certain that if you successfully end the curse she will know of your success immediately for the effects of the curse that is slowly killing her will end and she will return to normal."
Wakange turns to Ransyl.
"Permit? Ah yes, from the Flaming Fist. If you do not wish trouble from the Fist you would need the permit. They have been known to attack groups that explore without one and confiscate their equipment. But the cost of the permit is quite high as well. You can take your chances without one but they have been know to delve deep into the jungle so you never know where you may run into them."
Kirinar follows the conversation and shakes his head. "And how much, exactly, do these permits cost? Sounds like a racket job to me, and I, for one, have already lost enough coin on this job that we haven't even really started! We can help to stamp out this bribery by refusing to pay and 'removing' any would-be enforcers along the way."
“I don’t much like the idea of being bribed either, especially with low funds such as we have. Maybe we will be able to prove ourselves by not looting any artifacts.”
"50gp is my understanding. Plus I have heard they demand a share of all the treasure you find in the jungle. Though I do not know how much that share is I heard it is quite steep. But they have the muscle to back it up. The Flaming Fist are mercenaries after all and one of the best, if not the best, fighting force any where. Unlike the Order of the Gauntlet, which does seem to desire to free the island of evil, the Fist is in it for the money."
"50 GP is my understanding. Plus I have heard they demand a share of all the treasure you find in the jungle" Wakanga says
"Aahh but that's a bit steep and what exactly do we get for paying such a tariff"Vah Jo Gyaan Chaahata Hai says before continuing "by the way who gave The Flaming Fist the right to impose such a tariff or are they simply doing it because they can." He thinks for a minute and then finishes with "my approach is generally it's better to seek forgiveness afterwards than ask, or pay for, permission beforehand."
He then turns to Syndra and says "would you be a in a position to prepare advice that we are acting as your agents in this matter and that compensation, should The Flaming Fist consider it warranted can be arranged by their agents contacting you."
"I for one am not eager to play along with the schemes of extortionists," Keyleth says indignantly. "Especially since there is no guarantee that they will leave us alone even if we do pay. My vote is that we take our chances without the permit."
"The jungles of Chult belong to no one and are ruled by none. Here in Port Nyanzaru, myself, along with the other Merchant Princes rule. But that rule does not extend far into the jungles that surround the Port. The Fist has claimed and patrols areas of Chult and they rule themselves. Whether you choose to pay their price or not is up to you." Wakanga answers.
Syndra then speaks. "I cannot prepare advice for you dear friend. I hold no sway in Chult or with the Flaming Fist. However, I will provide the 50 gp necessary to purchase the charter of exploration that the Fist demands. Beyond that I cannot help you."
She motions to Wakanga who then removes a pouch of gold from a small chest in the room and hands it to Vah Jo Gyaan Chaahata Hai.
Wakanga visibly brightens at the mention of dealing in potions when Ransyl mentions it.
"Why yes, master dwarf, as a matter of fact I am the Merchant Prince in control of the sale of potions, and scrolls. I do have a number of items available. I have common potions of healing for 80 gp each as well as more potent potions that are more uncommon that are sold for 300 gp each. I can have a servant fetch what you wish to purchase. But those prices are firm I am afraid."
healing potions are not available in the markets of Chult but can only be bought through Wakanga.
"Thanks you, Syndra, for covering the costs of the permit. You have saved some members of The Fist from an untimely argument! And I am set for potions, Prince Wakanga, but it is good to know where we may procure them, or if we should come across any who may be in the market for them!"
With the transaction for the Potion of Healing (Greater) completed Wakanga has lunch served.
It is now early afternoon and you leave Wakanga's Villa and return to the Temple of Savras. As you enter the temple, Zitembe himself greets you.
"Ah please, come follow me, I have received word from the guides."
He takes you into the inner courts and aside into a small room. He looks at each of you for a moment as if trying to peer into your souls.
"I must apologize for my disbelief yesterday, but I have been shown something that may aid you in your search. It has been revealed to me that in fact the source of the curse does rest somewhere here in Chult, somewhere far to the south. The Guides have shown me visions and I see a jungle city far to the south, enclosed by cliffs and crawling with snakes. I was also shown a black obelisk draped in vines. I dared not peer any deeper for the images brought great fear to my heart. I urge you to seek out this city and the obelisk. What city it is I cannot say, for much has been lost in the jungle."
You try to ask him further questions to clarify what he saw but he cannot answer them.
"I can only say what was revealed to me. I know nothing else. May the fortunes of the gods rest on you."

"The Guides have shown me visions and I see a jungle city far to the south, enclosed by cliffs and crawling with snakes. I was also shown a black obelisk draped in vines."Zitembe says.
"Aah but what else would I expect to find in Chult but lost cities and snakes" Vah Jo Gyaan Chaahata Hai says with resignation in his voice. "The advice from the Guides is greatly valued Master Diviner Zitembe" he says to the cleric. "Now all we need is a guide" he turns to the party and says "shall we make our way to the Port and see if we can find a boat that is leaving on the next tide for Fort Beluarian, where hopefully our guide awaits us." He then finishes with "we may also find a place where we can purchase one of these exploration permits from The Flaming Fist Company, because whilst I do not agree with extortion of any kind, it may save us some trouble in the long run."
Assuming that party has finished in the Church of Savras, he bows to the Cleric and says once again "my thanks to you and the Guides!" as he turns to leave the Church.
The party leaves the temple and makes its way to the Harbor Port. Keyleth deftly leads them through the streets and crowds and they find plenty of daylight is left to find a ship.
A few quick inquiries at the Royal Docks and you find that these docks are reserved for the exclusive use of the merchant princes and those diplomats, dignitaries, and influential foreign merchants whom the merchant princes want to flatter with privilege or impress with magnificence. There are no ships for hire here.
Across the bay you see a few ships by the warehouses but they seem busy loading and unloading large amounts of goods and none of the ships appear ready to go anytime soon.
The harbormaster's office is at the end of the docks. There are also some ships in the main dock area.
"Well, let's go check out the harbormaster's office and the main dock area. If nothing is available in the next few days, we might as well set out on foot in the morning."
You make you way to the harbormaster's office. Outside of the harbormaster’s office is a bulletin board that provides the names and whereabouts of several wilderness guides. As you approach the building a tall gold dragonborn exits the office. He sees you and walks up.
"Greetings, I am Zindar the harbormaster here at the Port. Is this anything I can help you with?"
“We need to pick up some sort of permit as well, don’t we?”
"Dr Arbataveu, I doubt the priest would be able to answer any of your questions. He will tell you what the guides revealed to him. He will know nothing beyond that I'm afraid."
