"Fort Beluarian? Not much in the harbor that is leaving soon for there I am afraid. The only ship I know that might be available right now is the Brazen Pegasus, captained by Ortimay Swift and Dark. She is usually found in on of the taverns near the wharehouses. Can't say which one, she frequents a few, so you'd have to check em all. What brings you to the Port and why are you headed for Fort Belurian?"
"Are you adventurers?" the Dragonborn asks the Party Members
Vah Jo Gyaan Chaahata Hai bows to the Dragonborn and says "adventurers goodness gracious me! I am no adventurer but rather a scholar of the Arcane. I am known as Dr Arbuaveu and until recently I was at the Great Libarary at Candlekeep when my through my research I found out about an ancient city in southern Chult which may continue inscriptions that better explain how the impact that powerful beings can have on the Weave such as obviously happened during the Time of the Troubles. It is however possible that this knowledge may as my friend here says have a major impact on the whole land. We are therefore on our way to Fort Belurian to engage a guide who we have been advised may be able to lead us there as I know" pointing to the deep gash in his shell "how dangerous the jungles can be for those who venture into them unprepared and unguided!"
"Yes, we are adventurers! We are here on a quest of grave importance for the whole land, and must reach this Fort swiftly! We shall endeavor to locate said Captain and convince her to set sail at once! Our thanks, kind sir, for your assistance!" Kirinar secretly winks at Ransyl, silently mocking his own attempt to use all of the big words Kirinar knows to sound impressive!
As the group turns down the wharf and is headed for the warehouse taverns, he says, "I recommend sticking together as we search. These places look kinda rough, and although we could probably handle ourselves on our own, I think we stand a better chance of not finding trouble if we are together. Ready to go drinking?!"
"Well, perhaps some of you are more adventurous than the others? Anyways, I am glad that I have run into you. We seem to have a pirate problem. There are three pirate captains that are attacking merchant ships heading to and from the Bay of Chult. The pirate ships are called the Dragonfang, the Emerald Eye, and the Stirge. I have permission from the merchant princes to offer a bounty of 2,000 gp for each pirate ship that is captured and brought into port, and a bonus 500 gp for the capture of each pirate captain."
He looks at you appraisingly,
"Perhaps you are interested if you are headed by ship out into the bay? At least keep it in mind if you come across these pirates."
You thank Zindar for the information and head out towards the warehouse area of the docks. As you pass by several docks you see a ship that catches your eye. You see the name Brazen Pegasus written on the side. Looking at it it appears to be about a 60-foot sloop built for speed, she has a single mast flying a square mainsail plus two triangular foresails, one aft sail, and a small topsail. Standing on the dock is a hulking man whose face is almost hidden by a heavy beard streaked with gray.
The man looks down at you seemingly trying to decide if you are worth his time responding to. After a few moments he grunts.
"Aye, she's at the Dented Helm."
He nods in the direction of the warehouse district and then turns and returns back to his work.
You realize you won't get more from him and so you move off in the direction he indicated. It doesn't take long to find the right place, a large dented helm hangs out front. It looks big enough to fit a storm giant.
As you step in you see a sizeable crowd of mostly sailors of many races. In the corner a group of musicians playa song and in another corner a couple men are engaged in an arm wrestling contest. A few patrons turn to see you enter but most ignore you.
"I hear ship captains sometimes go by the names of their ships, so maybe if we ask for Pegasus, or maybe The Brazen Pegasus, the captain will come to us. The other sailors in here may know the ship name better than the captain's real name...and there may be several ship captains in here so we can't just ask for that! Let's split up and quietly work the room. What do you think?" Kirinar looks around as he talks.
If the group is ok with his plan, he will make a bee-line fort he bar and order a mug of ale, then ask the barkeep if he can point out the Brazen Pegasus' captain.
[Doh! Ransyl ninja'd me =) Guess we're walking together to ask!]
Vah Jo Gyaan Chaahata Hai follows the others into the Tavern. He looks around with interest and if there are any gambling or card games going at one of the tables he goes across to stand and watch closely.
(OOC: posts are crossing again. Looks like Dr Arbataveyu is already heading for that table)
"Let me guess - the gnome? She seems like the sort who could be a surprising ship's captain..." Kirinar replies to the barkeep, looking at him for a positive or negative response. He'll head over then, seeing Doc already heading for the table. To Keyleth he says, "How'd the turtle know it was her?"
The bartender nods to Kirinar as he guesses correctly.
Vah Jo Gyaan Chaahata Hai walks over to the game of cards being played and quietly watches the game play. After a couple rounds of play he surmises that they are playing 5 Card Draw and the stakes seem quite high as the gold pieces pile on the table during ante and betting.

"We will certainly do our best to help eradicate the pirate plague! Thank you for the information again! Now - to find our carousing captain!"

Keyleth observes quietly throughout this exchange, chiming in only to agree with Kirinar that the group should stick together.
"To the taverns then!" she adds, when they are ready to set off.

“Good idea.”
“Excuse me sir, we are looking for passage to Fort Belurian. Could you point us toward the Captain of this ship?”

The bartender looks to the corner and points her out. "That's her, at the corner table, playing cards."
You follow his gaze and see a female gnome, a female human and a pair of human men playing cards at the table.

One of the men kicks the chair next to him out. "Sure why not, as long as you have gold."
You sit and the woman deals 5 cards to each of you and each player throws a 1 GP into the pile
5 gp in the pot
You look at your cards and you hold a 4 of hearts, a 7 of shields, a 2 of hearts, a queen of swords and a 10 of shields
