OOC: That works, I was mostly looking for flavor, but Zane will use Hox's armor to locate object.
Zane concentrates, sensing the presence of Hox's armor to the north, and actually moving back toward the ruined slums where the other members of the party currently wait.
"Were you able to locate them Zane? After that I do not want to linger in the open and we need to figure out what this note means." Gruun peers nervously around looking for anyone seeming to be watching them.
"Yes, lets go, the magical guidance doesn't last long. It seems though that they might be staying in one place, we'll see."
Zane will recast his spell in case they don't reach Hox and Killian after the first one runs out (and after heading in the given direction for a few more minutes).
It takes all of ten minutes for Zane to track down Hox and Killian, following the sense of direction granted by his spell. Zane and the others wrap around the slums and re-enter, emerging from an alleyway to see the kobold and paladin looking at the wreckage of the Firestar Chariot Inn. Still smoking, the fire-resistant thatch seems to have held the building intact structurally, though much of the walls are missing, and the roof has collapsed onto the upper level of the tavern.
The slums are eerily silent around you, alluding to the gravity of the situation.
"This mean anything to you?" she asks, holding out he paper. Once she sees they have one, too, she sighs. "I do not like puzzles." She looks around for any of the previous people we have met, the half-elf, the blind dwarf, the cheesy bun merchant. She will poke around in the burned out inn, too, with an eye to the ceiling in case it shifts.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hox checks ashes for anything that might have survived the fire.

Then he pipes in, "Hox no like Helm god. They no like Hox, cause Hox takes pretty things. Maybe Ritska person at other rest houses, not burned ones...maybe." He suggests
Though the outer walls of thatch remained somewhat intact, it is quickly clear that the fires ravaged the inside of the inn. Nothing remains but rubble and ash.
Bodies line the street, including that of the blind dwarf you saw impaled, but Elric, Richard, and the half-elf are not among them.
OOC: Where to next? You've escaped the Stone Shields' attack, and most of the city is open to you.
"Hox don't know what that mean but you heal Hox so many thanks to Killian. Let's find Gruun and cat man, city not like kobolds."

"Oh, you are alive!" exclaims Zane.
"So where do we go from here? The guy we met earlier in the Poetry Society, what happened to him?"
Killian

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Zane realizes that he never paid much attention to the paper. He will now. (whichever rolls need to be made)
The notes each contains a single word:

"Does this mean we should Meet at Helm? I heard men in their drinks uttering that name. Is there a building belonging to a 'Helm'?"
Killian
"There is a temple to Helm... well, more of a fortress. Perhaps we look for this Ritzka there?"

Zane says, "Do we also need to find the Eric or Elric guy who promised to pay us for resolving the Poetry Society conundrum? What happened to him?"
OOC: Ready to advance once an action is determined.

I assume from that Killian has found nothing in the ashes of the inn? No dead half-elf in the street?

Gruun will briefly look through the inn for the barkeep. He didn't give him much trouble and would repay that kindness to him if he is nearby.
OOC > He did pay us in advance. Killian took hers, Hox has everyone else’s share.

"Well, it could be 'Hel meet' or 'Helm eet' rather than 'Helm meet,' but it makes my head hurt."

Zane says, "Lets go The Hall of Vigilance. If we have no difference otherwise then this word may mean something to them."
