Morph, his eyes still glowing a faint blue, examines the room and the chair and stone. He tries to detect anything magical, other than the stone, and also looks for any mundane dangers as well.
Action: Investigation check on the room, and chair with the stone: 15 (trying to find anything magical and/or dangerous)
(also to mirror Smullzilla's question, are we taking a shortrest before continuing this part? or did you mean we can use healing spells and abilities now or something?)

While morph searches the room, Rethan reaches out with his relatively new arcane senses to see if he can determine what might be happening with the stone.
(Arcana check, or help Morph with his investigation if that'd be more appropriate. Same mod either way: 8)
(Sorry, no short rest. Everyone is heal-able again. The bearded devil had prevented healing but his poison has faded.)
Morphonly detects the magical nature of the Stone of Golorr. But Morphand Rethan'scareful investigation of the area for other dangers reveals a very faint trail track of ooze connecting the chair to the exit across the room.
Titus snorts dismissively at touching the suspiciously placed rock, he turns to Morph, “Can’t you magical types move things without touching them? I though that was standard stuff for your lot. I can assure you there are no more fiends lurking, but there may well be more trouble to contend with down here...”
Rethansnaps his fingers and Midnightappears in front of him. The cat saunters across the room and bats the stone out from under the chair from one paw, sending it skittering across the floor towards the party (unless the DM says something else happens instead when the cat attempts to do so :P).

As Midnightapproaches the chair, the chair warps and a tentacle-like tongue lashes out at the cat.
Pseudopod Attack: 24 Damage: 7
The chair swallows Midnightwhole. When Midnight disappears, the chair lashes its pseudopod out in several directions looking for its lost meal. The boys scream at the top of their lungs and flee the room, back towards the sewer.
Rethan growls angrily as his familiar disappears into the mimic's maw. Stalking forward, he lashes out at the creature with his glaive, staying just outside of it's reach, then backs up a couple steps again. (Move forward til 10 feet away, attack, move 5ft back again)
Rethan'sglaive cuts through the mimic, causing an unearthly squeal. He jabs it with the butt of his glaive and the sound turns into a high-pitched roar.
Distracted by the awful stench, Titus cannot focus on the target, striking the ground where the ooze trail leads to the mimic/chair instead of the chair itself.
The mimic strikes at (1) Lanielwith its pseudopod.
Pseudopod Attack: 25 Damage: 16
The mimic's strike is brutal, knocking the breath out of Laniel'slungs but not quite felling the monk. It pulls Lanieltowards its mouth, but cannot quite fits it's splintery teeth around him.
(Maland Morphare up next. Then Titus, Rethan, and Lanielcan go.))
Morph's eyes go wide, as the Mimic reveals itself.
Seeing the stone still on the floor, Morph decides to try and get it, using the spell before him in his open book.
He quickly checks the spell details again and then closes the book, raising his hand and twirls it, while uttering the key word.
A spectral hand appears, below the Mimic's twisted, chair-like form, twirling in sync with Morph own hand.
The hand grabs the stone, and slides it along the ground towards Morph, until it's 10ft away from the Mimic, where it then starts to raise from the floor, straight into Morph's waiting hand.
Move: move to within 30ft of the Mimic, if not already closer.
Action: Cast Mage Hand: The hand appears next to the stone and grabs a hold of it, then moves 10ft towards Morph along the ground, then moves the remaining 20ft up and toward Morphs outstretched hand.
The stone of Golorr safely in Morph's hand, only the mimic remains as an obstacle to their success.
With little to no magic left in him, Mal steps in to help Laniel, slashing at the mimic with his rapier.
Rapier Attack: 18 Damage: 5
Laniel, battered and bruised, makes a choice. He can try to break free from the mimic trying to eat him, or he can try and give it a little more of a beating before he succumbs to its attacks.
Unarmed Attack: 12 Damage: 8
Unarmed Attack: 11 Damage: 8
Laniel'sattacks, clouded by the distracting stench, flail helplessly against the mimic.
Titus again uses his divine senses to scan the room before he or his allies attempt to recover the stone.
(When you say we can heal again, you mean like hit die from a short rest? Also does the Paladin immunity to disease help against the sewage stank?)

Titus:
No fiends, undead, or Celestials are present. And the stench in the sewers and cellar complex counts as poison, sorry.

"Ok, that's both odd and gross."
Morph points out the slimy trail to the others.
Morph looks at his friends, quickly checking on their physical conditions, but finds them better off than himself.
Taking a moment, Morph places his hand upon his own chest and utters another arcane word.
As the magic takes hold, Morph glows with a radiant light and some of his wounds close leaving him in better condition.
"I don't see any obvious danger, but in case this is a trap, maybe it would be better for someone else to touch it?"
"I can't very well use my healing talents, if I'm unconscious..."

At Titus's question of remote interaction, Morph farrows his brow, pulling his training manual out and quickly flicking to one of the new sections.
"Oh yeah, one of the new spells, I forgot about that one..."
As Morph looks up from the book, he see Midnight moving over to the chair.

(Laniel, Rethan, and Titus are up first. Then the Mimic will go. Morph and Mal will go last.)
Laniel leaps into action immediately. He charges the chair and drives his foot at it, followed by a knife-hand strike to the back of the chair.
Kick Attack: 11 Damage: 5
Knife-hand Attack: 8 Damage: 5
"What happened to my life that I am fighting a chair in the sewer?" Laniel says wryly.
The chair rocks out of the way of both strikes, which Laniel made somewhat timidly.
