Latrius blinks, slowly.  He sheathes his swords, although he remains alert.

He then turns to his companions.

”Well, let’s get down to business.  First—who in the Nine Hells are you?  Or, more importantly, where in the Nine Hell’s are we?”

"I'm Florus, and not the nine hells the Shadowfell" Florus puts away his mace and looks around the room

”jailkeep” the Dragonborn says in response to the later question then he shouts “Who you! I Dreshckles..... Who you?!”

Latrius nods, slowly.

"My thanks for the assistance.  My name is Latrius d'Maranok'Koermae, or Latrius Markon for those who care as much as me about pointless formalities.  Those who know me passing well and find it too difficult to utter three syllables call me Lat.  I was rather . . .unceremoniously dropped here by the being that just appeared before us.  I know not why or how."

Azrael begins to move to save the boy until he poofs. He just blinks looking around at the others - "Azrael, did anyone see that child. He may need our help."

Azrael begins to look around trying to spot where the child may have gone.

Dresh simply says “He fine, I try hurt him, I tel...teleport away? I teleport away!”

Azrael, as you look around, you don’t see the kid. You see the magic ring that came off his finger, but not the kid. He definitely stopped breathing before he disappeared, so you can’t figure out what sent him away.

Azrael just walks over to the ring and picks it up - inspecting it "Looks like that thing dropped something."

Latrius has a spark of inspiration hit him.

"Ah, I do believe I was forgetting something.  He gave me this book, said to give it to a dragonborn.  I can only assume that you are said dragonborn, Dreshckles."

After doing so, Lat will scan the room just to make sure no one missed anything (Perception): 20

No one missed anything. I mean, the Vent is still open, but I doubt you want to go up there.

Azrael just listens to the group as he tries to find some semblance of what this ring can do. "So what are we doing, resting or continuing on?" he asked as his eyes remained focus on the ring.

Azrael can’t seem to determine the properties of this ring. It has a ark on the side, and you can infer that there’s another one.... somewhere. You sense it might require attunement for whatever effects it has.

As Latrius pulls out the book, it looks old and dusty. There’s a sticky note sticking out of the first page, and the title says ‘History of the Shadowfell. By-‘ the following name is scratched out.

Florus will pull out "his" book and try to write in it

(It has the same name, but this isn’t the book that is supposedly ‘Yours’. It is too old for that.)

Latrius will move towards the door.

”You can stay there and prattle about an old book all you want.  I for one am going to find a way out of this damnable place.”

Dreshckles takes the book and says “Why give me book? I barely reading”

Azrael just stares at the group arguing and shakes his head "So going, resting, or reading?" he asked, getting a little impatience with the people who seemed to forget they were just attacked by something.

Latrius, as you move through the door you are greeted by a living room, complete with a kitchen and bar!

Florus, as you move through the book, you find it’s so old you can’t write in it, as the paper would just crumble. However, opening it to the last page, there is a note:

”You wanted history? Here’s history of this place for ya. Now, I think you have a job to do. Go do it. This book will fill the closer you get to the half-drow. L, sorry for knocking you out. A, sorry for lying about Hex, but things had to be done. Now, first page, flip to it. Bye!’ -R

Latrius will examine the kitchen warily, unsheathing his scimitars.
