"The bulette...bit harder" Said Carrhae, while bleeding heavily. Even while clinging to consciousness, she is able to place her shield in between Thousand Teeth and Kali.
Upon seeing how she caused the creature to bite itself, she quips back at it. "I bet it hurts being bitten by a thousand teeth, doesn't it?"
The impact created a brilliant red shockwave to emit from the blow, and Thousand Teeth moved no more. She sheathed her hammer and kneeled, silently praying to Bane, thankful for Him, thankful for the honor and glory, and thankful no one was killed.
IF NEEDED: She then walked over to Carrhae, and placed her glowing red hands on her massive bite wound. "Be still, Kapitan, the power of Bane shall heal you.." and pressing on the wound, she was healed for 15 HP
Carrhae takes her sword and begins to cut off the head of Thousand Teeth. "There! I'm going to take this back to Queen Othokent. Kali and Syltra can take the rest of the body back to the boat to prepare it for dinner. Well done everybody. It's been a busy day, but we secured our spot in the Alliance. Thank you for healing me, Misha."As Carrhae begins marching on, she can be heard talking about how she's going to get high once she gets back to the Belle.
With the death of Thousand Teeth, and the presentation of it's head to Queen Othokent, she reconsidered her previous assumption regarding the inability of the humans to render worthwhile assistance. An alliance with Saltmarsh was agreed to, and was eventually the Belle reported back to Saltmarsh with their story of success. The lizardfolk dispatched two Common-speaking scaleshield officers named Garurt and Vyth to Saltmarsh with the Belle as ambassadors. The lizardfolk, impressed by the Belle's actions invited the town to join in the attack on the sahuagin fortress. They were well received by the council, and the Alliance was quickly agreed to when the council members learn of the situation regarding the sahuagin. The council promised to alert the characters later on when the attack on the sahuagin would be near.
Thus ended the rumors of any DANGER AT DUNWATER - EPISODE TWO
"That was...quick," says Syltra. Seeing that it had attacked Carrhae, she had been preparing to cast a spell at the creature, before its demise. "It's obvious the only thing keeping it from being killed was the lizardfolk taboo. Another example of the disadvantages of their primitive religion."
In disgust, she helps Kali bring the meat back to be prepped and cooked.
The Acheronian Codex is a collection of texts that are viewed as sacred by Banite scholars and most Commanders and Ministers, especially with the Prime Paladins. The contents of the Acheronian Codex is divided into three major sections:
"The Chronicle of Bane" "The Chronicle of War" "The Chronicle of Empire"
The first section is the history of the Lord General, giving insights to how Bane became the God of War, his encounters, and the foundings of Archeron. The second section details the Acheronian War Machine, providing commandments that Bane dictates to his Empire, as well as all expectations of His Tyranny and His Will. The final section is the prophetic Word of Bane, declaring the coming of utter and complete Domination that Banite Ministers preach, glorifying His Word and His Will.
One particular story in the Acheronian Codex is the Tale Of The Crone. The Crone is an apocryphal figure of unknown ancient Acheronian origins who taught Bane the power of Domination and Control, and the ability to Influence others through Fear and Tyranny before he ascended to Godhood. In order to win the heart of Anastasiya, Bane sought out the Crone, who taught him how to exert control over Anastasiya to make her love Him. In exchange, the Crone enslaved Bane through her own foul magic and forced Bane to be subservient to her. She also took a number of Bane's Chosen to herself; these Acheronians were never seen again. Presumably, she devoured them. A year and a day after the Crone first enslaved Bane, the magic bond faded, and Bane ripped out her heart. The Crone is often times called The Dark Mother, and is one reason why Bane, to this day, is distrustful of magic.
Many high ranking Acheronians and Scholars suggests that "The Crone", like, perhaps, many elements of the Acheronian Codex, is allegorical. Bane, for one, does not speak of this time, nor would anything dare to ask him.
"A shame, but no great loss. Come, let's get to the rendezvous point."
Later, after meeting with the Belle and everyone is asleep:
Erriviel quietly made his way to the top deck, dropping a ladder down the side to the rowboat that the land team had come back on. He rowed to shore, bringing the captive bullywug king with him. As he went deeper inland...
"Now, if I had any manners, I would address you as 'your majesty'. Unfortunate for you that I have none."
Erriviel drags the king deeper into the marsh, slowly, talking all the while.
"I don't suppose you answer to a higher power? Any cultists come your way lately?"
Looking into the king's unblinking eyes, Erriviel frowns.
"You don't understand me, do you? Well, luckily for me I have a translator."
He pulls out a dagger, beginning to cast a spell with his other hand...
Gory details here
After disposing of the king's body, Erriviel sighed, feeling much more relieved.
And here I was thinking I had lost my touch. Well, he didn't know anything in the end.
He snuck back to the ship, moving quietly and slipping back into his quarters for a night of peaceful meditation.
Misha stepped into her room, into her cabinet, and unlatched from her armor. She set her hammer and shield inside, and walking out, the cabinet closed and the Acheronian repair process began. She took her time and bathed, remembering how good the Lizardfolk pool felt, and..how on the Belle, the bath wasen't quiet as good, but good enough - and she laughed out loud. She sank deeper into the tub and daydreamed.
She dressed up into her off duty black half top and black shorts and kneeled in front of her armor cabinet, hanging her head low and offering prayers to Bane for his guidance, his wisdom. She was thankful the mission was a success and that everyone on the crew was ok. She smiled and made small talk with everyone she saw, and ate ravenously when Wolf had cooked up dinner, having four helpings. As nighttime came, she planned on stargazing, and going to the beach and enjoying the sun the next day like Carrhae suggested.
The door swings open just as Carrhae knocks once, Kali stopping in her tracks with her own pipe in hand. The hybrid blinks, looking from her pipe to Carrhae's then off to the side where she could see Misha stargazing, then looks back to the captain. "Ye... Yeah, sure, just..." She uses her free hand and holds up a finger while scooting off to the side to let the blonde in. "One... One sec, 'kay? Just need to tell red somethin'. Make yourself at home! Don't let Cinex bite you, vicious little ****er he is." With Carrhae inside, Kali scoots off to where the red-head is, greeting her with a firm slap on the rump and a grin. "Hope I didn't bother your stargazin'. Anyways, I gotta talk to you so when blondie leaves, come to my room, I got some cool shit to show you." When the other makes it known that she's going to show up later, Kali gives her another smack on the behind with a laugh, and heads back to her room, kicking the door shut with her foot.
"Noooow, what is it that you need, cap'n? Wanna try another strain?"
