ON THE EMPEROR: Suddenly, the ship lurches horribly! Something massive has grabbed on to the ship and truly enormous writhing tentacles slither their way into the cracks of the ship lashing out at everything and everyone! What new devilry is THIS?! The Emperor begins to heave violently as the wood strains and splinters at the crushing assault of this new enemy.
ON THE BELLE: A massive gargantuan octopus has emerged from the sea floor and wrapped it's tentacles around the Emperor!! While doing to, it has destroyed the rowboat the away team has used to board. Another one will need to be sent out before the ship sinks! It will take a total of 10 rounds for the rowboat to be in range to accept the crate and the away team.
ESCAPE ROUND ONE
Everyone aboard the Emperor needs to make a DC10 (Athletics) check or fall prone as the Elder Octopus latches on, shakes, and tries to destroy the ship!
In addition, everyone aboard the Emperor needs to make a DC10 DEX save to avoid getting hit from the tentacles.
The ghasts take damage as they are all hit and flail around, they disengage and flee up the ladder! (You can attack them if you want, but they are fleeing for their undead lives.)
"By Bane's Command! What?! I weel get the crate!!" Misha yells as the ship lurches. "Get to the top!!"
Drawn below is the quickest path to the top. IF YOU MOVE INCLUDES CLIMBING STAIRS OR LADDERS, you must make a DC10 STR(Athletics) check or fall prone ending your turn. This is in addition to any other effects the Elder Octopus is causing as it destroys the ship. EACH SQUARE IS 5 FEET.

Misha DC10 Athletics check ship lurching: 18+ 2 Misha DC10 DEX ST tentacles: 3 Taking 7 damage from the tentacles, Misha grunts in pain, sheathes her weapons and squats down to grab the crate. She grits her teeth and lifts! SHE HAS IT! Let's go!!

Carrhae was comfortably lounging about when all of a sudden she heard a crash, as the rowboat was destroyed and the Emperor was being attacked by a monster with tentacles.
"Sana! Take the cannons and fire at that thing! Kali! Help her with that! I'll go take one of the boats and go save them!" After giving the orders, Carrhae scrambles to one of the rowboats and starts rowing towards the Emperor, hoping that she'll make it in time.

Xenophon: Topaz Dragonborn Fighter (ixi's Dragon of Icespire Peak)
Syltra: Thrashing DC10 STR (Athletics) check, then the tentacles DC10 DEX ST before you make your move. If you fall prone your turn is up and cannot move.
Syltra shrugs off the hit, and uses her guidance magic on herself, granting herself a little boost to try and get up the ladder as the sea sprays around her.
Syltra maintains her balance after the Elder Octopus' initial attack but a flailing tentacle hits her for 7 damage. Syltra manages to climb the ladder from AREA 12 the cargo hold, to AREA 11 on the lower deck.
Ghast2 and Ghast4 disengage and climb up the ladder as well. 10, 6 - Ghast2 escapes, but the shaking causes Ghast4 to fall next to Sloop and it gets caught in a tentacle and gets crushed.
The octopus’s weight and writhing tentacles cause the ship to list 30 degrees to port, and you can hear the structure of the ship protesting greatly under the crushing squeeze! The ship creaks loudly as it's grip tightens.
Everyone on the boat will have to make a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw or fall prone and ending your turn.
The crate was heavy, but Misha had it. It was heavy enough that it slowed down her movement (to 10') while carrying it, but she had a ladder to climb. She looked at it, and puffed out a few times as if getting mentally prepping her mind to lift a heavy amount, switched the crate to her right arm and grabbed the ladder with the left, and climbed. Come on, Misha.
The Elder Octopus caused the ship to violently shift to port: MISHA DC10 DEX save: 12
She slipped and fell, the crate slamming to the floor and she swore something awful in Acheronian.
Sloop hops back up to his feet just as he sees Misha slip and fall. Lending a helping had, he pulls her back up to her feet and then tries to climb the ladder upwards again:
Syltra and Wolf, first make another DC10 STR (Athletics) or fall prone due to the octopus tilting the ship. If you fail, you fall prone. If you succeed, take your turn like normal. Remember, if you're climbing stairs or ladders, DC10 STR (Athletics) or fall prone due to violent ship rocking AS WELL.
“Come on!” Syltra hollers as her feet pound on the rocking deck.

She runs to the next flight of stairs. While she runs, she whispers another prayer for guidance from Umberlee, and pulls herself towards the main deck...
Wolf, easily able to keep balance through all of this, grabs the box off of Misha saying, "I can carry this and move a lot faster than you. You get up there and keep us safe." He then easily grabs the box and starts taking the quickest way up, burning though his resevoir of energy, and easily able to stay up as this is just like being drunk.
The Octopus crushes the cargo hold, and water starts to rapidly flood the area. Misha swore something in Acheronian and tried to climb the ladder as quickly as possible. DC10 STR (Athletics) check: 10 Praise Bane. Misha climbs up to AREA 11 as the cargo hold is completely flooded. She runs to the steps and tries to run up them. DC10 STR (Athletics) check: 5 Oh of course. Excellent. And, falls flat on her face.
Carrhae continues to paddle the rowboat as fast as she can, praying that the crew aboard the Belle can continue to shoot the octopus and that those stuck on the Emperor can escape.
