AREA 13 - THE TREASURE ROOM

Erriviel avoids being hit by a stone block, and Carrhae notices a trip wire on the floor at the entrance to this new room.

Chests, urns, and a large strongbox stand in alcoves set uniformly along this chamber’s walls. Some chests are open, and you see jewelry and coins spilling out. Colored flashes of light sparkle with the promise of gems and jewels. In the center of the room is a green stone statue of a beautiful elf.

Carrhae requests Syltra's Guidance and with Kali's assistance, checks the chests for traps.

One of the chests is trapped yes. You can disarm the trap by making a successful DC 12 Dexterity check using thieves’ tools.

Carrhae points out the trap, indicating for either Sloop or Erriviel to disarm it before opening the chest.

Sticking his tongue out in rapt attention, Sloop starts to fiddle with the trap discovered in the loot box, using his shiny set of barely used thieves tools:

Kali gives Sloop a pat on the head. “Nice job, KitKat.” Then throws him against a wall gently moves him aside and looks in the chest 

Carrhae opens the remaining, untrapped chests. Once she's finished with that, she'll start examining the urns and the lockbox, to see if they need to be de-trapped as well.

The large strongbox contains nothing but old rags, bits of metal, and a small piece of paper with the message: “Dear thief: A lot of work for nothing, wasn’t it?”

The elven jade statue animates, its face becomes a dreadful fanged mask, and attacks and you examine the other urns and lockboxes!

“I was kiddin’ about the biting thing,” Kali laughs sheepishly, her face getting serious soon after. With rage running through her veins, she raises her greataxe and brings it down on the statue.
