OCC. I Will be out of pocket Wed and Thurs. I might be able to check in and answer any other questions to the goddess.
It is a difficult test. I see you have not chosen your adventuresome paths willingly. So this aid will I give you: there are items of power to be found on this island.
For the time you remain here, I will allow you to use any as if you were trained in their use. Should you find an object of magical power, use it wisely; perhaps it wull help you toward your goal.
Janey, having awakened to see Lusith engaged in conversation with the glowing statue of the Goddess, presumes at first that she must be dreaming, but after listening to the Goddess's words, realizes the gravity of the situation. Following Lusith's lead, she approaches carefully, keeping her head bowed, and stammers: "My Lady, we mean you no disrespect. Is...is there anything we can do to fix this, so that you will not need to cleanse the island?"
The half-elf watches from his corner of the room, initially content to remain seated and listen to the others. The Goddess mentioning 'items of power' makes him rise to his feet, and perform an elaborate bow before her. "You grant us a great boon, my Lady. If there was ever an island that was in need of cleansing, you have certainly chosen well. We will make every effort to depart from your sphere of influence with the utmost haste."
Eurim is definitely sleeping through all of this - if he is wakened, he will pretend to sleep, his face as immovable as the stones that support the temple's foundations.
History/Religion checks: The Earth Mother of the Moonshae islands is a known name, a primordial creation spirit of great strength, but not a "God" in the sense the pantheon of Faerun. In some ways, much more powerful, but also more limited.
To Nicholas: "All things are possible when commanded to be so and their is the strength, even Ao knows this."
To Janey: "Can you protect this land for all eternity from such as these Orcs? Of men as evil, as have invaded my lands to the south, and placed an abomination from the Abyss on the throne? No, child, you cannot. Better to cleanse this land and bury it in fear or within the realm of my daughter, the sea. I do this now, while strength remains within me."
"Know this also, with the dawn, there will be an abatement of the storm to aid you in your task."
With her final words, the statue sits, taking on the same position as before. When the light fades from her eyes and the statue, you note that the statue and throne, even the whole room, have been returned to pristine whiteness.
"A fiend on a throne of the world! We must hurry and leave this island so we can go tell people the danger their in! How could people make such a terrible mistake!"
He is visibily frantic as he tries to pack everything while making sure everyone is awake and has eaten and ready to go. (What time is it?)
Janey will approach Lusith as he rushes about frantically, and reach up to place a calming hand on his arm. "A good rest tonight will be especially important come tomorrow. Now close your eyes and take some deep breaths. We will move first thing in the morning when we are fresh."
Lyle will peek out from the altar and find Nicholas.
”We should leave as soon as we can. I don’t know if the statue lady is capable of backing up her threat, but I know I don’t want to stick around and find out.”
During her watch, Janey will avoid conversation with Lusith so as to not interrupt the others' sleep. When Lusith begins wandering around the temple, she does not try to stop him even though she is not sure its a good idea, concluding that at least this way he can burn off energy without waking anyone.
